As a teenage boy, with my hormones popping, she made a huge impression on me. I had a poster of her on my wall, and once went to a Blondie concert. The place was packed. Only just turned eighteen, I had spent all day in the pub with my mates and got dead drunk before we went into the club. All that booze, and being crushed in the crowd, took its toll and I passed out. I came too as I was being carried out over the heads of everyone. I looked over at Blondie on the stage, and she blew me a kiss. Well, it could have been to me, or anyone else in the crowd. But I swear to god, she looked straight at me. I will never forget that look in her eyes. That's pretty much the most rock and roll thing I have ever done.......lol! Fantastic memories.

Really glad you found Blondie! Debbie Harry was a forerunner when it came to females fronting bands. Her look, her voice & her attitude laid the foundations for those females that followed. Blondie were kinda a Punk meets Rock/Pop genre, but very experimental. They deserve their iconic status. YOU NEED TO REACT TO 'ATOMIC' - Timeless tune, executed perfectly by Debbie Harry: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O_WLw_0DFQQ.html - sounds like it could be released today and many female fronted bands have covered it. Also, check out 'Rapture', perhaps the first white female to rap: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pHCdS7O248g.html - Blondie were SO ahead of their time! (Either way's good, by the way.) Their style may sound typical early 80's (new wave) now, but that's partly because they were such a huge influence in shaping that particular sound.
