The band was an assembly of some of the best R&B musicians available at the time. They toured before the movie came about, but the concept began as a Saturday Night Live skit and grew from there.

I haven’t heard this in decades! Gosh I loved this as a kid when it first came out! Fun tune! This isn’t from the movie. It’s from their album which came out before the movie. Remember The Blues Brothers started out as a sketch on SNL, and became wildly popular.

This song was not in the movie. It is from the Blues Brothers album “Briefcase Full Of Blues”. John Belushi and Dan Akroyd were cast members of SNL and “The Blues Brothers started out as a comedy skit on the Show and developed from there. Which lead to Belushi being on the #1 show (SNL), the #1 movie (Blues Brothers), and the #1 album (Briefcase Full Of Blues) all at the same time. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

I got to see the Blues Brothers opening for Steve Martin at the Universal Amphitheater in 1979. Their first album had just come out, and their show was phenomenal. So much energy and great, great music. Belushi and Ackroyd were so much fun, and the band were masterful. One of the best shows I ever saw, and then of course, Steve's show was fantastic! ETA: Dan Ackroyd did sing. "Rubber Biscuit" on that album was one of his vocals.

The Blues Brothers is a real band that toured. John and Dan had a few top notch musicians, Guitar Watson, Duck Dunn and other members of the SNL band.

The blues brothers movie is one of my favorite movies ever. Dan Akroyd and John Beluishi have/had so much talent! Their albums were all really good too.

"Hey Bartender" was not featured in "The Blues Brothers" movie, but it was included on their live album, which is what you guys just played. The concert was recorded at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A., Ca., which is why John Belushi yelled out "Greetings from New York". The band in the movie did tour as The Blues Brothers Band.

Their band was the SNL house band for years b4 they formed the Blues Brothers. Steve Cropper(guitar) was a session musician & producer as well.

They were extremely talented. and hilarious. Please please react to Don't Back Down by Wolfgang Van Halen . He wrote the lyrics composed the music and sang the song and played every instrument. you have to react to the video.
