BTS right now are nominated at GRAMMYs for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance". BTS is the biggest group in the world with the five number one albums in US, three of which were within a year. They have two RIAA platinum album certifications. They beat Michael Jackson's record and Beatles' record, they won top group awards at Billboard music award, American Mudic Awards, MTV EMA, People's Choice Awards, awards at VMAs, they performed at Grammy's, they gave speech at UN twice. And there is just a few of their achievements. All seven members of BTS are very involved into creative process. Most of the songs are written by their rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope). RM is credited as songwriter in 167 songs, Suga - 123, J-Hope - 110. RM debuted on Billboard Hot 100 Songwriters Chart at #3, Suga - at #9. But vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook) are participating in songwriting and composing as well. The members are also involved into producing. Out of all members Suga produced the most, he is an established award winning producer, who is producing for BTS, for his solo work and for other famous artists. BTS do a lot of different genres: Hip Hop, R&B, Latin, Pop, EDM, Ballads, Rock, etc. Most of their songs touch serious topic such as mental health and social problems. You done it now. The biggest band in the world and the most active fandom in the world . And no it isn't their biggest song if you look at the numbers. Dynamite is a newer and very successful example. Dna and Boy with love are over a billion views. I am new to BTS myself (a month). This is one of my fave from them. If you like this energy, I am willing to bet my left ear that you would enjoy DAECHWITA (day-chee-ta: Traditional Korean military music traditionally played when the King is about) as well. It is a solo project by one of the BTS member who dropped the mic at the end of this MV (Stage name SUGA for BTS, and Agust-D for his solos).

BTS has gone through so many hardships and struggles and haters who don't like this under-dog group out to the music mainstream. BTS made songs throughout these bitter experiences and this is one of them.
Just some info on BTS if you're interested sorry if I repeat info that's already been said. BTS is 7 member (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) group from South Korea that started forming in 2010 and officially debuted in 2013. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in english. The members names are Jin age 28 vocalist, Suga age 27 rapper, J-Hope age 26 rapper, RM age 26 rapper, Jimin age 25 vocalist, V age 24 vocalist, and Jungkook age 23 vocalist. They are the biggest group in the world right now. They do all kinds of genres hiphip, rnb, latin, pop, and edm. Their music covers all subject matter such as mental health, self love, societal expectations, and so much more. They have had 5 number 1 albums in the US and 3 number 1 songs in the US. Their most recent new song Life Goes On became the first korean song ever to hit number 1 on the billboard hot 100. Their song Dynamite which was released in August and is their first and only all english song ever. The music video for Dynamite broke the record of the most viewed video in 24 hours on youtube with 101.1 million views. They currently have 2 music videos over with over 1 billion views (DNA and Boy With Luv ft. Halsey). All kpop songs incorporate some english to varying degrees. The original ver. Mic Drop had less in english in it than this one. BTS are very hard working, talented, funny, caring, and inspirational young men. They came from a small almost bankrupt company in South Korea and because of their growing success over the past 7 years that same company is now worth billions and BTS are also now part owners of Bighit Entertainment. They are 2 award shows called MMA (Melon Music Awards) and MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) and BTS has won all daesangs (grand prize awards) for both shows 2 years in a row. For MMA they have won artist of the year 3 years in a row and for MAMA they've won artist of the year 5 years in a row. And while yes you can appreciate BTS music on its own, I feel like knowing more about the members and their history enhances the experience so much more. BTS has sold out stadiums all over the world and had another world tour scheduled in 2020, but unfortunately the pandemic happened so they couldn't tour. But they have had 2 online concerts which were amazing. They really give their all when they are onstage and the production is always top notch. BTS is also very involved in their music by helping writing and/or producing most of their songs. Each member also has done solo work and 3 rappers in the group (RM, Suga, and J-Hope) each have their own solo mixtapes. And recently BTS became the first kpop artists to be nominted for a grammy award. This is only a small fraction of info about BTS so if you want to know more don't overwhelm yourself. BTS debuted in 2013 and their older stuff has a hip hop feel, an old-fashioned one at that in my opinion but they have explored so many many different styles since then. They have a good share of male "BTS Army" followers as well as followers from all age ranges. I can see why you would want to check out From Nobodies To Legends but may I suggest you watch a video or two more before doing so to make sure you enjoy their music? They all also do solo projects that they drop for free on Soundcloud. I saw a good list somewhere below of songs to check out. As XCeleste says, "BTS is not your typical boyband" and offers so much to so many in so many forms of music and dance, videos and so much more content. They have two subunits that may help guide you if you do choose to look into them. They have the vocal line and the rap line but then they also build their songs with a specific feel such as two of the tracks on the new album had subunits, however, there was one with 1 rapper and 2 singers and another with 2 and 2. Since they came from a very small entertainment company, they were told they'd never make it... when they started winning awards 2 years after they debuted, they were accused of chart manipulation because no one could believe a group from a small company could be selling that well. Fast forward to 2017 and many grand prize awards and accolades later, they released MIC DROP as a "PISS OFF" to all the haters. The original lyrics are all in Korean, but they translated/changed a few lyrics for the Steve Aoki Remix. I suggest watching a live performance. This is basically a song to all their haters. It came out just as BTS was starting to get really big globally and they were sweeping awards in Korea. They were true underdogs and the industry in Korea gave them a hard time and didn't think they could make it in the beginning. Jin the eldest last did it at the Busan 2022 -' yet to come' concert he's the eldest and he was 29 last concert he did before starting his military service which he has to do before his 30th birthday. Suga and J-hope being just a year younger so RM must have been 27. Those lads are fit.
Steve Aoki is American of Japanese descent, so his surname is pronounced A Oh key (‘A’ as in “the letter A”), and he’s a world famous DJ. Hope that helps in case you come across his name again for another reaction!
I would say the English translation for this specific song doesn't make a lot of sense because they used a lot of korean slang or sentences that only make sense in their native language if that makes sense
I'm not sure why people are so thrown by "you're a tasteless ratatouille." If you have any idea what ratatouille is it makes perfect sense. Just a clever way of calling someone bland like how americans might call someone white bread.
One of the reasons for this video is because they have had to deal with haters and SUGA and RM (underground rappers) were blasted by rappers that they had "sold out" when they became idols. Guess who is smiling now - BTS has 3 excellent rappers (RM, SUGA and J-Hope). It might be helpful if you watched some of the videos about BTS.
Hello, BTS brought me to you. Thank you for checking out our boys, the most loved boy group in the world. As you're probably realizing, ARMY ( BTS fandom ) is massive on a global scale with a vast gender and age demographic so it could become an overwhelming experience but ARMY are also the most kind hearted, generous, dedicated and talented group of people who are loyal and loves our boys to the fullest. I am proud to be a part of this beautiful fandom and hope you would too. BTS and ARMY are beyond just a boy band and fandom, its actually a movement to heal and change the world for the better through their music and actions. I like to term the journey of BTS as an Evolution Revolution. My take and belief on their journey and concept is that unlike what has sadly become a lot of societal norm to eradicate or dominate what today's society consider to be poor, weak or different, instead BTS is advocating to strengthen that poor, weak, and misunderstood by healing them through the positive message in their music and just being human themselves sharing the journey together. BTS and ARMY are here hoping to make this world a better place than when we found it, one step at a time. This is what makes BTS not the biggest but the greatest and most loved boy group in the world and the ARMY the best fans of the world. I know it is difficult to read lyrics and listen at the same time but the lyrics on all BTS official MV's are correct and not auto generated. If you learn to listen to your own language, English, you will clearly hear "Ratatouille ", you just gotta learn to listen! I know it's a lot at first but you'll get the hang of it.

Thank You Yvette, I was just about to suggest this as well, often times when someone is new to BTS, they can be confused, if you let us know the type of genre you like we can steer you in that direction, as BTS does not stay in one, they are well.. not just a "boy band" but something much, much more.

Hi, some things about this boys. *Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with kpop. Kpop ist a genre and bts are know for their great repertoire of genres. Kpop is an industry in Korea, and not all singers/rappers/musicians in Korea are "kpop" 1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers 2. Bts compose and produce in all their albums, so is very personal, they talk about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc 3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) used to read a books and study set, philosophy, psychology and mythology to understand. Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Murray. 4. The army love them because they are good people who through a lot of bad things to be where they are now, and even being famous they stay humble. 5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song or Activate cc. **Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. The fans also do not want to be mixed with kpopers, (most of us aren't kpop fans) we don't have the same ideals.

I’m going to say my piece really quick. While I enjoy other armys (BTS fans) requesting because yes to new fans hopefully in the future, I believe you should stick to watching their music videos first. If you do want to know more about them, then by all means react to introduction videos. Even the long ones, bts fans will gladly watch every single second. I hope you know reacting to KPOP in general will bring a lot of traffic and it might become a bit hectic and possibly overwhelming. Maybe even people bashing you for any certain comment you might make that they won’t like, or other fans from different kpop artists hounding you for more reactions. Please take it easy, I recommend sticking to BTS music videos until you’re 100% positive you want to actually know the biggest boy band in the world 💜

The lyrics are actually very correct. It's just many deep and hidden meanings. For example Tasteless ratatouille...remember that scene in the movie ratatouille where the food critic comes in and tastes the dish but it has no flavour unlike the one he used to eat as a child. But when he comes back a second time it tastes amazing. Combined with the previous line it basically means don't blame me for your problems and downfalls, we're just better than you.
