Agreed, U2 and Pearl Jam are the 2 bands i NEVER miss if they are touring. Btw, did you go to any of The Sphere shows? Went to 2 of them, absolutely incredible.
I went to a show during the 360 Tour. It was MASSIVE! The stage was THE WHOLE FOOTBALL STADIUM with a platform all the way around it for him to run around on. The “Claw” was AAUHMAZINNG! During our show Bono brought a very lucky little boy up to the stage with him to run the stage and Bono GAVE the kid his sunglasses! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 It took 38 tour buses to travel the stage alone! It was in 2009.
Not wishing to be vulgar about it but this 360 stage set was in the Guinness book of world Records for 2 World records first the most expensive stage set costings £20 Million and second for the most technology advanced stage show ever i went to see them in Frankfurt Germany i was awesome looked like it was worth every penny absolutely spectacular gig U2 on top form ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The centre light display that you see is actually a video screen that extends and contracts like a concertina. I saw this stunning show twice. U2 are always experimenting with their visuals a using cutting edge technology.
"that's like a whole country of people" may be the best line ever. Thanks for reviewing my request. I do not know Dei. Since I liked all the video reactions he requested, I thought I would send one to you. "I should have been there" is true but didnt want reasons in the video. Thanks for the reaction video -T
I went and travelled to Ireland to see U2 🎉🎉🎉at croke park the gig and stadium 🏟️ is totally awesome amazing epic 🎉🎉🎉U2 were out of this world 🌍🌍🌍 totally unreal and this is one of my favourite singles wow wow wow 🎉🎉
The song was written after 911 . U2 was one of the few to tour after 911. Bono wrote the song about the crowd at a concert after 911, when the lights shined on them, what a beautiful moment in a tragic time for everyone no matter what religion ❤
This concert was actually livestreamed on RU-vid!! It was the first time a concert was livestreamed so it was a big deal! I live near the Rose Bowl and was there that night inside the ring. We had to wait all day but it was totally worth it. The day after my boss was like “I watched on RU-vid and didn’t have to spend the day in line” she was saying that it was just as good on RU-vid…not at all true lol. I saw four shows on the 360 Tour and what was really cool about it was that you got a completely different experience based on where your seats were. If you were it the rafters it was such a cool experience bc the tower of the Claw had a disco ball and shot out fog and stuff. I saw one show in the seats in the middle, two in GA, and one in the rafters and the experience was unique and amazing wherever your tickets were. So cool.
It was 2009. I saw the show when they came to FedExField in DC. That was indeed called “The Claw.” This video didn’t show everything it could do. The stage would rotate so they didn’t always only face one side of the stadium. That bucket-shaped screen in the middle could lengthen and contract. And there was a microphone on a glowing ring that hung from a cable so Bono could swing around on it. It was batshit insane… in the best possible way. Muse opened for them, and before U2 took the stage, Bowie’s “Space Oddity” played, setting the mood. Late in the show, a middle eastern man in a suit and an open-collared shirt was wandering around the floor in front of the stage where my friends and I were. He was high on either a substance or just the sheer joy of the show, I don’t know which. But he was downright GREGARIOUS. He put his arm around me and talked to me, and although he was kind, I’m the kind of dude who doesn’t like being touched by other dudes, so I was a little uncomfortable. And he suddenly asked me, “does it make you uncomfortable being this close to a Muslim man?” It was too loud to explain the whole truth, so I told him no, and I put my arm around him too, and we stood there a minute singing along before he moved on. Only U2 can create that kind of experience in an NFL stadium. Gotta love it.
Over 97,000 people there , breaking the record for highest attendance for one artist in the US. The previous record was held by… oh yeah U2 as well 😂 Highest grossing tour of all time for the moment, until Swift wraps up her tour.
Sorry but your history teacher need firing. Grateful Dead's gig at the Raceway Park, Englishtown, New Jersey on September 3, 1977 was attended by 107,019 people, which remained the largest ticketed concert in the United States to date until the 2003 American rock group, Dave Matthews Band, recorded in Central Park, New York City. That concert attracted more than 120,000 people. I love U2, but they are not as mighty as cherrypicked unchecked stats would have you believe. Also, The Rolling Stones are the highest-grossing live music act of all time, collecting over $2.5 billion according to Billboard Boxscore. U2 are not far behind, but U2 are definitely behind.
I took my son (12) to see U2 on this tour in Houston, TX...when we were on out way in the parking lot...he says to me, "What in the heck did we just see and hear for 2 1/2 hours...Un freaking unreal!"
I was lucky enough to see this tour 3 times, including this one at the Rose Bowl. I was lucky enough to be in the inner circle and it was a great concert. Thanks for doing a reaction to this one.
"The Claw"... I believe they had 3 of them from this tour and they are set up at 3 places around the world right now. And it is really hard to explain just how crazy that stage was and all that happened during the show. I saw 3 of them including the show in Minneapolis where it rained big time for most of the night and Bono just went with it singing Purple Rain and more.. it was an amazing concert.
That concert was in 2009 at the “Rose Bowl” as part of the 360 Tour. To answer your question, yes that was all people on the pitch covering it in 360 viewing experiences, it was completely sold out. Good luck finding your car after a few Guinness and Jamisons.
I went to 3 shows on this tour. The first one being Croke park in Dublin. I’ll never forget getting on a bus from the airport the day before the gig. The bus went past croke park and you could actually see the top of the stage over the top of the stadium roof . It was unbelievable. It was the first and I think only stadium tour that worked with a 360 degree set up . Most stadium records in every stadium were broken because there wasn’t the usual blacked out end behind the stage. It was the biggest tour of all time for revenue and people attending. I also went to Wembley stadium and the millennium stadium in Cardiff. Being in a different position for each gig. Pit , back of the field and in the gods. The stage was amazing and gave you a different show to wherever you sat. U2 always push the boundaries like no other live. That’s why they were picked to open the Sphere
Went to the july 5th show in Chicago. It was fantastic. My sister cried uncontrollably thru this song. But, my favorite performance that night was miss sarajevo.
That show was unbelievable, that stage could be seen from Skylab in space . They had two stages, where they “ leaped frog “ they set up one while another was being setup in another city . Over 60 50’ ft. Tractor trailers. Crazy
The 360’ Tour I’m so sad I missed!!! The videos are epic, I totally agree with Tom, I wish I would have been there!!! The Claw also showed videos, it looks so cool in the videos!! One of the claws you can see now in Utah’s Loveland Aquarium
check out All I Want Is You / Where The Streets Have No Name by U2 at Slane Castle - goosebumps - Probably the best transition between two songs to have ever been heard here on earth & I was there
You really need to watch U2 at Slane Castle. Watch “All I want is you” and then keep watching when it transitions into “Where the streets have no name.” You will be blown away by the best band ever.
