“This must me new country” is such a funny quote because what I think sets Tyler out from the rest is that he sounds like the original country like outlaw country

I think Tyler at least for the most part falls into the genre of "Appalachian County." Which is really popular right now! He's from Kentucky so it makes sense. Definitely my favorite sub genre of country

Purgatory, Nose on the Grindstone and Whitehouse Road(acoustic preferred) are 3 of the most stamped, authentic no bs Appalachian songs that have ever made it to grace the mainstream. Well.... since Loretta Lynn and them lol we had more than a few back in the day but not since the early 80s. But Loretta Lynn. She's ours. Tyler Childers. So is he. Check them out and you'll start to see how we're a total dif breed 😂 not always a good thing but... got our culture. Our problems; hurdles, traumas, traditions, our loves. Our habits. Strenghts, weaknesses.. but we're just.. built totally different. Not sayin better or worse lol just different.

Listen to Appalachian country. That's what he sounds like. The quintessential Appalachian pop country singer. And.. he is. We stamped em. Long ago. He gets his doggy papers lol his letter of authenticity. In a way that many will never know lol even with lil details that most folks wouldn't know to put in... All that said there is no "country voice". It's all different like anything else. I'm not a HUGE fan of the genre just certain artists but... this one is up there ^ And pop-wise... he's OUR guy. In a very palpable way. So it hits different for me.

It seems depressing because they sing about the things they know. Country came from poor southern people. Many many many years ago country was often referred to as the white man’s blues. Like the blues what did those folks know? A hard life.
@howdydoo5006
@howdydoo5006 2 месяца назад
When you talk about popular "country " music, youre talking about like....what Nashville is into. There's so much more. Tyler Childers has been one of the best "country" artists for almost a decade and not teally got his flowers. Expand your shit into "Americana". That will get you away from Jason Aldean style country and more into shit like Tyler Childers. And Jason Isbell. And James Earl Townes. And Turnpike Troubadours. Thats all shit you will never ever hear on normal "country " radio. Anything thats defined as Americana, even if it gets an award basically means "country, bit not in the way Nashville likes"

No no no. People have led you wrong. Tyler doesn’t even preform this song anymore and I wouldn’t listen to anyone in these comments either. Allow me. If you want the guts…you gotta hear Bottles and Bibles (live), Her and the Banks, or his cover of Rock Salt and Nails. Just to start.
