@@Killermcknight crying is good for you!! Actually Dimash 1st sings this on The Singer competition. If you ever watch the extended version (I believe you can find on Gloria Wu’s channel), he was sick & completely lost his voice. The day of competition he actually went to doctor & got multiple injections directly in his throat😬. It still was not realistic that it would “fix him”.. but the story goes, he’s a man of faith & that his voice came to him & mostly left immediately afterward. There’s even more clips somewhere where other competitors were sweetly giving him special Chinese remedies trying to help. It’s a performance where if you didn’t know he was sick & wasn’t used to his singing you probably wouldn’t even know… but then when you see his next level performance at his own concert, you can truly see the difference. So Bastau concert is the technically better version, & so epic, but it’s impossible to say you should see one over the other.. you should see both. You know his stuff is worthy of a second watch, so that goes for multiple versions when he performs the same song. I wouldn’t be mad if you ever wanted to do a longer back to back of the 2 versions & don’t think anyone else would either 😉 In my opinion it’s too much energy to try not to cry, & it lessens your true experience anyway. Plus- you prob got a lot of it out now! It’s in Chinese so there’s just the lyrics. But honestly I didn’t need the lyrics to be moved just as much. That’s what Dimash is for… if I were you I’d just embrace it 🤗 some things are just that special. He is a living legend.

What a lovely couple you are, both so expressive in each your own ways. I’m enjoying very much your Dimash reaccións, thank you. We Dears can be a rabid bunch, certainly. Yet: I feel all we Dears discovered the music of Dimash mostly during COVID, which was such a personally challenging frame of time. I think this is where such fierce loyalty and defense of him originates. As to this performance: Igor Krutoy is the composer--and as he is is a Russian Jew and Dimash is Muslim from Kazakhstan--perhaps belting out HAIL MARY wasn’t quite a fit. I find Dimash an exceptional composer, musician, performer and the best vocalist of my lifetime. And my mother and my son’s lifetime too. I hope you will keep exploring his catalogue. His favorite genre of music is rock, and he’s very, very good at executing such performances, and his fave band is Queen. I suggest for you Olympico, (or Ogni Pietra), the live version of One Sky, The Show must go On, or Hello as your next Dimash reacción. I discovered Dimash at the recommendation of a friend about 3 or 4 years ago, first hearing SOS. I've seen many of the "great" vocalists live: Houston 2 times, Streisand 3 times, Pavarotti once, Groban, Brightman, Bocelli 3 times. They were jaw dropping impressive (at that time before I saw Dimash). As a singer myself, I remember being in awe and amazed at their vocal technical skills, at being able to hold notes for super human lengths of time, especially Bocelli. BUT not one of them ever made me cry - never. The first time I heard Dimash sing SOS, I could NOT believe what I was hearing. Tears began to involuntarily pour down my face, my mouth literally open in shock, and I thought what the f*#k is happening to me. And it is the same ever since. I try very hard not to cry as a grown man, and yet, I can not help the tears. Even after I've listened to his songs a million times, I get choked up every time. There is something about his sound, his resonance, the tonal quality. Lots of singers sing "great" or hold long notes, or have a good size vocal range (none as big as DQ, but good).....but there is some indescribable quality that just hits me so hard right in the deepest place that I can not explain. My biggest dream is to see him live, but I think I would totally break down. It is one thing to hear a voice on recording, it is all together another thing to hear it booming amplified thru a great music hall. This is my great dream. I get your tears totally.
