This cut is on every device that I have music on. Was hoping you would react to this. Although it didn't get airtime, you always want to listen to the entire LP, because there is always a track like this. Musicianship, production and the pure genius of Maurice White.
Here you go!! The epitome of the sound of Earth, Wind and Fire!! Their instrumentals like this, Africano (That's the Way of the World album), Runnin (All n All album), Drum Song (Open our Eyes album) Biyo (Spirit album)...shows the great musicianship and arrangements! IMO, this Faces album was their best album ever! You didn't play it all the way through! There was a pipe organ at the end....
This is MY EWF, and why I love EWF above all other groups. It's THE band. I don't think I recommended this at all, but you found it. Don't know if you did Power/Africano on Gratitude.
I think this was the last album with the classic lineup of players. Maurice White (drums, vocals, timpani) at the top, below, left to right is Verdine White (bass) and Phillip Bailey (vocals, percussion), third tier - Fred White (outstanding drums)and Larry Dunn (keyboard wizard), 4th tier is Andrew Woolfolk (woodwinds), Al Mckay (rhythm guitar), below (left to right), Ralph Johnson (drums) and Johnny Graham (lead guitar). They were still great for a long, long time after this, but never the same. Maurice continued to EVOLVE the band. So you're hearing 3 drummers and percussion. Around that core they add the Phenix Horns (2 trumpets, a trombone and an additional sax.). You missed the organ windup at the end after the pause (you thought it was over).
The way the break it down in section pianos horns flutes laughing so different sounds the singing Philip b you don't now if ending or not wow so powerful EWF for life wow
