So true. When I was a kid in the 70s.. funk, soul, rock, even country.. would all be played on the same radio station!! It seems we didn't pigeon hole styles like they do today. We had a great cross reference of music.

Easy Lover is a GREAT song! Do dat!!! Btw, E40 did a song called Seasoned that used this melody and a similar chorus that's pretty fire. If you don't react to it here just check it out on your own time.

amen. easily top ten, likely top 5 bands EV.ER. Personal fave is also Fishbone but they're not quite on EWF's level - hearing Fantasy back in junior high sealed it for me - Maurice White, RIP. For an interesting listen, check out their first two albums, same name but completely different band, barring Maurice (leader then too) and Verdine. And the soundtrack to Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song with that lineup. the best line is Orlando Jones in Drumline: "in the beginning, there was Earth, there was Wind, and there was Fire."

If you lived in the Hood in the mid to late 70's Earth Wind & Fire was definitely on the menu. Check out The Commodore's if you want to see one of the few bands that can step to EW&F.

Earth Wind & Fire started in the early 70's. They grew in popularity, hitting the top in the mid 70's with their "That's the Way of the World" album - which includes this song. They are considered one of the legendary super-groups of the 70's, and are still popular and touring today.

This song was a sure fire slow dance song in the clubs back in the day. EWF was a supergroup of the 70's, fusing funk, rock, R&B and jazz into their distinctive sound. And they had outrageous costuming to boot. September, After The Love is Gone, Shining Star and Boogie Wonderland were just a few of their hits. This is old skool harmonies and instrumentals.

Young man, Earth Wind & Fire are legends of R&B, funk and soul and have been blowing many of our minds since the late 60s, when they first burst on the scene. As many have already said, when you get a chance check out the entire albums "Head to the Sky", "Open Our Eyes", "That's the Way of the World", "All N All", "Gratitude", "Spirit", and "Raise". Phillip Bailey was 2 years ahead of me in high school, 1971. I became friends with some of his friends who had a band, Tender Fore, and today those guys are still singing and playing in different places. EW&F is one of the best R&B groups in history! You need to hear more of them!! You cracked me up when Phillip hit that note. lol Twon, there are 3 brothers who came across my feed the other day who do covers of R&B that has amazed me. And they've gotten shout outs from some of the EWF guys and Taj Jackson and Andre Tresvant, etc. They're called Roney Boys.

I love Earth, Wind, and Fire and this is one of my favorite tunes by them! They did a Verzus with the Isley Brothers! This song was released in 1975… I remember this music playing in my house as a kid! The seventies and eighties had some great R&B and funk bands! Philip Bailey’s falsetto is everything!❤️❤️

Dude this is the best band ever! EWF was the standard that all R & B bands were measured by. So many hits that you can choose from. Horn section off the charts and Maurice White & Philip Bailey were the main lead singers. "September" and "Let's Groove Tonight" were up tempo jams that everyone knows. The Gratitude album is one of my favorites.

"Let's Groove" is such a JAM! I remember watching them live on HBO when i was a kid (early 80s i think). I was blown away. One of the big reasons i got into DJing & spin Funky/Disco House :)

One of the greatest bands ever.! all grooved to this..every party, dance..that special someone! Did you ever hear September? Ask your elders about EWF. I am a huge fan. They are still playing..that young man is 70. Check out the classics or Kennedy Center honors. Believe me, Beyonce, John Legend, Kanye, know them!!! Education! Real musicians! Take it from this old, white broad. EWF crosses all barriers. Have you heard of Luther Vandross? Just great music, voices..no color barriers! 💘 peace ✌ and soul!

Great R&B band. They started back in 1969. This track Reasons was recorded back in 1975. One of my favorites by this band. Sadly the group's founder Maurice White died from complications due to Parkinsons disease. Luckily the band carries on in his memory
