I used to work in various recording studios fixing gear. The story I heard was that Richard Pryor bet Eddie 1 Million that he couldn't sing. The recording studio they are in is in Rick James' home.

Do you know the movie "Dreamgirls" (2006)? Eddie Murphy can saaaaang, it is about the Supremes in the sixties with Beyocé playing Diana Ross and Jennifer Hudson winning an Oscar for supporting actress in 2007 ....the movie won several awards and just is great

Ohhhh... love song Eddie! That red jumpsuit. Whew! He did a couple song but this one they actually played in the clubs. We always headed to the city on Fridays night to dance. A little disco... ish! Disco was invented in late 70s to torture us. Ugh! But honestly Eddie could sing Kermit the Frog ... theme song and it would be sexy. Great song and reaction!
