It makes me so happy to see such a young person, discovering why he is such a Legend. Please react to Elvis and the black community the echo will never die. thank you
Elvis was devastated by MLK's murder. People tried to stop him from performing the song because it was too 'controversial'. But he went ahead & PASSIONATELY performed it on his special just months after MLK's murder.😢Please react to 'In The Ghetto' (Live at Vegas) - a sad but beautiful song that still applies today Elvis grew up in poverty, his father was in prison, so he and his mother lived in a shack - dirt poor - they depended on others for food. He grew up playing with all different races but mainly in the black community - he loved to go to the local church and sing gospel with the choir. Elvis himself was part Native American - he didn't see colour, he saw people. A true Gentleman who never forgot his roots. A rare, unique & truly special talent👑#TheKing
@@IMKingSupreme Lovin your channel & content 😻especially your Eminem reactions!🐐Dive down that Elvis rabbit hole - you won't be disappointed. SUBBED! Peace from Ireland☘
@@michellehubbard7865 Unfortunately he did - for cheque forgery. Sentenced to 3 years but got out a little earlier due to good behaviour. Sad but true.
It does. From the historic iconic comments by President Jimmy Carter at the time of elvis's death, to the soul depth and diversity of elvis singing. "If I can dream" as Dr king and Bobby Kennedy are assassinated, this beautiful film captures the humanity and artistry of elvis presley like no film before it. Truly remarkable
During a time of segregation...this song told everyone how he felt/what he believed in!!! Put so much heart & soul into this!!! The 2nd verse...it looks like he's trying not to breakdown! So much passion in his performance! And for it to be the last song of the night had great impact!!! The racial tensions were high ..it was after MLK & The Kennedy Bro's were killed!!!
One of the most powerful performances in music history. Elvis has so much charisma, talent, looks, passion he was off the charts and a bonafide LEGEND and CULTURNAL ICON.
You will find any help you need from Elvis fans. Elvis was inducted into five halls of fame. No one like him. He’s STILL #1 in record sales...over a billion! He grew up in Tupelo Mississippi ghetto. The dirt poor blacks and whites were one. No craziness. Elvis did not have either electricity or plumbing in two room( literally) his daddy and uncle Built. Elvis moved to Memphis with entire extended family when he was 14. The rest is history. You may Get a better feel for Elvis in Elvis and the Black Community, part one and two. Hope this shed some light on things. You will fall in love with Elvis’ multi- talented gift. He’s an icon for sure. Thank you for taking time to listen and hear him. If you know Blacc Elvis reactions, he’s a full fledged fan of Elvis. He didn’t come to the table with that attitude, But now he’s dedicated to Elvis. I promise Elvis won’t disappoint any Time you give to him.
Elvis was something REALLY special if he could still connect to today's young people. He never lost the touch. (and he would have been shocked in a very good way because Elvis WAS the first youth movement that wanted change in America in the 1950s)
He had a god-given talent, not another person in this world could replicate Elvis for his talent his looks his amazing gift that he shared with so many people. That song and the way he performed it is hands-down one of the best performances I've ever seen by anyone.
To learn a little about his background, find “Elvis and the Black Community - that echo will never die”. Elvis grew up in poor neighborhoods that were primarily black. He sang in the choir of a Black Baptist church while in high school. He loved gospel, soul, rock & roll, & helped bring these into the entertainment mainstream along with other artists. He never forgot his cultural roots.
This song was a tribute to Martin L. King and Bobby Kennedy after their assassinations but alot of people also forget that his red tie was ( signifying the bloodshed) of all the Vietnam vets that gave their life for their country. This song is a national treasure for sure. Goosebumps Beautiful yet painfully sad. 😔
This song is as relevant today as it was 54 years ago, his manager was against him singing this song. Once Elvis played this song back he said he wouldn't sing a song he didn't believe in great reaction. Please React to Elvis and the Black community , 🙏
Elvis could have you dancing with joy one minute then crying in heartbreak the next when you saw him live. My first concert was Elvis when I was 10. I already had a huge crush on Elvis because I'd been listening to his music since I was a baby and then watching his movies as I grew older. I spent that whole concert crying. Silent tears ran down my face, in awe of how epic it was and afraid to blink in case I missed something. I was so embarrassed after it was over but all of the adults around me said I had nothing to be embarrassed about because that was just how most full grown women reacted the first time they saw him live as well.
Elvis's chameleon voice changed multiple times in his very short life and career. His critically acclaimed recordings are in multiple genres of music. An iconic artist, the likes of which may never be seen again.
Elvis was my baby sisters favorite artist. We grew up listening to him, and she obsessed over him. Weird for a kid born in 95. She committed suicide the same year my daughter was born. I named my daughter presley in memory of my sister... she just asked me if she could call elvis.... that's why I'm hear. So glad to see people reacting to his absolute musical genius!
King of Rock and Roll without a doubt, saw him in concert twice, he had the audience in the palm of his hand, his presence was so powerful, he could have ran for President and won easily, he was loved by millions in every country around the world and toured around the world.
He was a once-in-a-lifetime talent. He had at an incredible voice and range. He could sing about anything and make it special. Hope you've discovered and can enjoy the world of his music - so many different songs and sounds, and yet he makes each uniquely his own. He was the first artist to make me "feel" and love music. I'm sure it stems from his own passion and love for music that comes through in his performances. Enjoyed your reaction and comments.
Try listening to HURT . His vocals are phenomenal. Loved your reaction and yes this song was a tribute to both MLK and Bobby Kennedy . Both assassinated , both advocates of the Civil Rights in the USA. Keep them coming and enjoy your Elvis journey.
I'm always happy when someone brings this performance to my attention because it is tremendous. It also breaks my heart that it's still so relevant all these decades later. Elvis knew doctor King and when he got the news of the assassination he was filming a movie and they had to shut down production for a day because Elvis went into a back room and curled up into a ball and just cried for hours. He really did give a shit. Also this was only a few months after the assassination and I think it was getting close to Christmas and so they wanted him to do a Christmas song for the finale that he absolutely insisted on doing this song for the ending. And you noticed that he is out of his white jumpsuit and his black leather and in a proper suit with a red tie to show respect. If you want to see how much you can go off, check out Suspicious Minds live in Las Vegas in the white jumpsuit. Or check out the early stuff which is what most of the Elvis impersonations are based on like you ain't nothing but a hound dog or Jailhouse Rock from his first movie.
Elvis was a genuine dude... he loved all people, all races. Not a racist bone in his body. Phenomenal talent! I enjoyed your reaction. From South Africa 👍😃🙏🇿🇦
I’m a fairly new EP fan myself, and the more I learn about him, flaws & all, the more my heart goes out to him! The more I appreciate his artistry & the doors he busted through, personal & professional! You should watch the entire ‘68 tv special acoustic session with his boys! The outtakes, too! Your reactions remind me of my own 🎙 🎶
There ain’t nothing normal bout that performance or that man. He was sent to inject love on such a sacred scale and change lives with his frequency tone. Beautiful Angel 🤍
This was Elvis' tribute to MLK who had been assassinated only 2 months before this was recorded. Elvis grew up in a black community in Tupelo MS in a poor family that struggled through life. In his childhood, when music was strictly seggregated, he was as much influenced as much by black gospel and rhythm and blues as white country & western. Are you in for 2 other out of this world performances: check out Polk Salad Annie and Suspicious Minds (both live in Las Vegas 1970). Love to see your reactions to those powerhouse performances.
Elvis has a big catalog over 700 songs plus a lot of hidden gems in the movies that have great performances that came back to life in the 68 Comeback Special. Elvis was always the professional, kind, humble, caring person he sang every song with passion and gave it his best performance. Feels So Right, Reconsider Baby, Make The World Go Away Vegas 1970 live performance, When it Rains it Really Pours, Wash My Hands in Muddy Water, Just Pretend Vegas 1970 live performance, Stranger in My Own Hometown just a few to start off.
