Absolutely iconic voice. It’s so powerful that one wants to close their eyes to absorb his soul but don’t want to miss his image. Meanwhile he grabs onto your soul until sometimes tears are in your eyes and you realize once again has reached your heart. He’s such a passionate, emotive singer. 🎸🕺🏻🎤❤️

This song proofs that Elvis could sing like Roy Orbison. I have seen him doing this song live in the International hotel of Las Vegas and he started this song with the first words of Running scared. As with songs like It's now or never, Surrender Elvis proofs he didn't have to underdo for Roy Orbison concerning powerness of voice

@@nealmalik9142 well let's just say this was Elvis better than in Clambake soundtrack mode. I appreciate the King always gave his best but he was let down by a lot of the soundtrack material he was lumbered with. 👑 👍

People want to get on here and start proclaiming how bad his movies were ..... Really ..... Try listening to " Follow that dream .... Or ...." Tickle me .....With the humor in it that Elvis's lines have in them ..... Elvis shows were made with a low budget ......Keep in mind the contract he sighed .....They were for musicals with Elvis singing .... NOT A BROADWAY PRODUCTION LIKE ..... Cleopatra ..... @@nealmalik9142 don't get me wrong I agree with everything you say about the King I just like some of his songs more than other. Same with his movies. Follow That Dream is one of my favorite movies and song. As you mention Tickle Me I am sure being the fan you are that the songs in this movie were recordings made years earlier by Elvis as none movie songs to save money for the struggling movie studio. All glorious tracks I might add. All in all there will never be anyone to equal the King. 👑 👍 😊 🤘

i have to disagree; it's easier to focus more on a voice when you're not focusing on a performance, but then we're all different, right? anyway, the magic of this song is (1) the power, particularly his finish (2) the nuances of what he did w-words -- making a 1 syllable word into 2 syllables, 2 syllables into 3, & the amazing "up & down" thing of certain words

Elvis was not racist. But black...people's need to...understand in his day, things could be said..and song..about blacks. Now, it would be a lawsuit worths millions. !!! Listen* The song, Polk Salad is racist.. Why? Well, listen to its story of Annie. Annie was a poor black woman in thee south.( U.S) Her husband was not good. The kids was not either. He/ she work on a chains gang. This is a jail for blacks... They had to work with a chain on them. The kids stole watermelons 🍉. off the truck. Slaves was given watermelons 🍉 to eat. They had to sit outside. They ate watermelons 🍉 as treats..from their masters. Poor blacks continued to eat the fruit after slavery. When Elvis Hoola hoops, it is the chains swinging! Slaves had to work fast or beaten!! It is mockery to the black race!!! U all laugh at Elvis but it is directed to Blacks not whites!! Elvis was a good dancer..He meant well. But ,now u know why it was said, he is racist. Now u get it? No one can sing that in 2022!! Remember , Elvis is born in 1935!! Poor blacks ate ,Polk Salad..it favors Collards Greens. But we laugh at our ancestors struggles? This story is true...
