Yup! Something about it. The musical composition alone will do it. Lindsey Striling does a violin cover that gets me every time. Even when I play it. The emotion is in the DNA of this tune. Add in Amy's vocals and the lyrics and it's all over.

I think the "thing" with this song is, when it came out it was a real good song. I was 19 and really liked it as well as others of them. But the older you get, the more you gotten through, the more "scars" live gives you this song becomes a more emotional song with every year. Still really enjoy it but never make it through without tears in eyes.

'Hello' is an extremely deep and absolutely heartbreaking song by them, about her little sister that died when she was young. Her brother died pretty recently as well. Poor Amy has had a lot of heartache in her young life! 😢 She was definitely given many gift's to vocalize and vent her trauma and help other's with theirs. 💗

Idk how many hundred times I've listened to this song over the years, but it still hits me like a freight train. I remember when I bought the album back then and heard it for the first time. I wasn't expecting a song like this and luckily I was alone at this moment... let's just say that I haven't had the best time of my life and this song knows exactly how push every emotional button a person can have.

Her voice is one of those rare voices that give you a mix of emotions and feelings at once. In some songs she can give you hella energy and also drain your soul at the same time. She can also fill you with an bit of uneasy tension but also be so soothing that you find yourself kind sonically paralyzed by it. This always reminds me of "Aragorn and Arwen". The Two Towers came out about the same time as this song. I always imagine Arwen to wander around, being immortal while Aragorn died ages ago. The lyrics fit to that perfectly.

This song is almost 20 years old now and came out when I was in my early 20's. It's a song that defiantly hits harder now. Back then, it was just a great song, now it's a powerful song. I can now relate to the lyrics, but not towards a specific relationship, but towards my memories, moments, and my mind. The older we get, the more memories hurt, not just the sad and/or bad ones like losing a loved one, but the good ones also, like life never being as great as it once was, as certain moments will never be experienced again like they were when we lived them. My memories are slowly killing me as I can't let go.

During the period of time when this song was released, I was in one of those relationships where I tried to “rescue” a very damaged girl. It ended the way you would expect (although she does credit me with keeping her alive at one of the worst times in her life). This song takes me back to that, and the wounds that have never healed.

Thank you for your reaction. Thank you for not being too tough to feel the emotion. My mother passed away from cancer, in my arms, staring straight into my face when I was 23 years old. She used her last breath to say "I love you" This song brings me back to that moment, and to the months of struggles leading up to that. . We all need to cry. And when you feel the need, Amy Lee will bring it out of you.

I went to a concert of theirs the same year this song was released. As an intro she said that she and their guitarist wrote this together in high school. But now he had passed from cancer it was especially meaningful to her. She cried singing it. Every time it hits me in the feels.

This song is about loving someone for a long time & realizing that all the time you were loving them they were not loving you back just acting like it , they were never there for you , I was in a relationship for 7 & 1/2 years we even had a child together , she split up with me because she was messing around with her boss , it took me 3 years to get over her & I still hold on to this song in my heart . Just recently she married the guy she was cheating on me with & I had thoughts of now she’s living the life I wanted for both of us & old feelings came back but now I realize that the person I loved is now dead & gone & now I have to morn her death .

This song always hits me hard. The whole album is extremely emotional and powerful. A lot of grief and loss. It came out at a time when I was still dealing with a lost relationship and both parents diagnosed with tumors and cancer. It allowed me to release a lot of anger and sadness and confusion. Beautiful stuff! Thanks for the showcase and reaction!

I remember when she just started, someone described her voice as 'haunting' and I thought that captured her essence very well. I've found her unreleased songs and the less mainstream ones better than the more famous ones... Loads to recommend, please react to some of those. Yes PLEASE, more Evanescence! Seriously ANYTHING off of their channel or from Amy's personal channel is AMAZING! Do you remember the movie DareDevil from 2003? It has Ben Affleck as the main character and Jennifer Garner opposite him. This song and one other song of theirs was on the soundtrack to that movie. Part of this and part of the other song played in the middle of the movie. This really catapulted Evanescence into the limelight and they exploded from there (they were already AWESOME, just not so well-known as they totally deserved to be). This reaction was really good! You just have to remember that guys are still human, it's okay to be human and have emotions. That is what art is supposed to do, make you FEEL something. Otherwise, what the hell are you doing with a reaction channel? It's okay, man. :)

Its called method acting. It’s what got Heath Ledger. You go to those dark places and draw from that real pain and apply it to your acting or singing. She’s absolutely beautiful and has the most beautiful voice. The best voice I have ever heard , seriously.
