Amy Lee's voice is so hauntingly beautiful, the voice of an angel ❤❤❤ When I first heard this song I knew it was about the loss of someone close a loved one and portrayed exactly how I felt at the loss of my first wife, 2 year old son, and unborn daughter to a drunk driver in 1982 causing the grief and pain of that loss to come to the surface and made me cry. Such a very emotional and powerful song.

First heard this song in 2003 when my best friend passed of a drug overdose. I was there through it all. This song was so relatable at the time. Everytime I hear this song, I think of him. May you be resting peacefully , Scott. 🤍 No more tears for you. I love you.

Now - just imagine hearing this back when it was 1st released!?!? I used to frequent a local hole in the wall bar after I got back from Iraq in 2005 and this lady would come in all the time - alone - just a beer or 2 - on Karaoke night - and sing her songs almost TO THE "T"... it was pretty mesmerizing... I still remember her to this day.

In the video Amy is singing from the perspective of Ben (which is why he's seen at various moments), but she's at the same time representing the ghost of the lost one. That's also why she never touches the ground directly.

I hurt somebody terribly during a divorce. He didn’t want it. He used to listen to this song and cry. He would tell me it was like I was gone already, just a body living with him. I got my karma for hurting him so terribly. Justly deserved. I can’t listen to this without crying because I know I caused someone immense pain. Peace to all.

I actually haven’t listened to this song in nearly 10 years since before my brother passed away from an OD. I actually can’t tell if that was intentional by my subconscious or I just happened to not listen to it. Maybe my brain avoided it for me. But it absolutely hits different now than when I was young. Love your reactions, you’re so genuine. If you haven’t yet, I suggest 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle, or Snuff by Slipknot. Such beautiful and heartfelt songs as well.

I used to struggle quite a bit with depression when i was younger and this was always my go to song when i was feeling at my worst. I heard her sing it live last June and i can't even explain the feeling, was absolutely amazing.
