I had the chance to go and see Coldplay live at Wembley stadium with my father for the Head Full Of Dreams tour in 2016 the actual date we went was Father’s Day in the uk. it was one of the last things we did just the 2 of us I remember there was a car crash outside the stadium so because of traffic we didn’t get home until 3am. We said we would have to do it again but sadly never got the chance but I think I will try and do it. I would highly recommend you to check out a live version of the song it is a special moment with the crowd interaction and pyro

I discovered i was an addict to dating sites and sexual validation 3 years ago. It nearly destroyed my marriage. There was a point then where I wanted to give up and I nearly decided to file for divorce, and start new after 13 years of being with my wife. I came clean about it all and went to therapy. I may still be slowly trying to harm reduce when it comes to pornography, but I can say ive been 3 years free of dating sites. The hopelessness eventually went away as I slowly healed and recovered from the bottom I never thought i would have climbed out of. 3 years later, my wife and I now communicate on a level we never did before. She has been in my corner from day one of my recovery journey.

Thank you for sharing your journey with such honesty and vulnerability. Discovering and confronting addiction, especially when it impacts relationships as deeply as it did yours, takes immense courage. It's clear that your commitment to change and your openness with your wife have been crucial in rebuilding trust and communication. Three years free of dating sites is a significant accomplishment, and your ongoing efforts to reduce harmful behaviors show your dedication to personal growth and healing. I'm so proud of you! It's heartening to hear that despite the challenges, your marriage has evolved into a place of deeper understanding and communication. Having your wife's unwavering support throughout your recovery journey shows the strength of your love for each other. Wishing you continued strength and progress in your recovery and in your relationship with your wife.

As a parent of three children, two of which have mental health difficulties, (one who has had psychosis and experiences severe bouts of depression and one who has an eating disorder and self harms) it is so hard to accept you can't always 'fix' things, when all you want to do is take away their pain. Mental health services too often ignore the role of the parent in the support of the child, as they apply blanket policies of confidentiality and safeguarding which, whilst important to protect the 5% who need this, works to the detriment of the 95% who would otherwise have benefitted from more engaged and informed parents. It has taken me years to retrain myself to think differently, against my natural instincts, to acknowledge the kind of support they need and to not take on the guilt of feeling that this is not enough. This is still a work in progress. I'm very sorry to have read about what you've been through and just want to say that I really admire the positivity and generosity of spirit you show, and wanted you to hear one more voice telling you that what you are doing is amazing and will be greatly valued by those who need it.

Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience as a parent facing such significant challenges with your children's mental health. It's incredibly tough to navigate, and your words resonate deeply as a mama wolf myself. The struggle to accept that you can't always fix everything for your children, despite your strongest desires to alleviate their pain, is a universal feeling among parents in similar situations. I'm going through this currently with his father (my ex) and it can make us feel so helpless. You raise a crucial point about the role of parents in mental health support. While confidentiality and safeguarding policies are important, they can sometimes inadvertently hinder the involvement of supportive parents who could provide valuable assistance. It's a delicate balance that needs more nuanced consideration in mental health services. Your journey of retraining yourself to provide the kind of support your children need, while managing feelings of guilt and inadequacy, is both admirable and relatable. It's a testament to your resilience and love for your children. I truly appreciate your kind words and encouragement. Knowing that my efforts to raise awareness and support for mental health are valued means a lot. Please know that you're not alone in this journey, and your dedication as a parent is invaluable to your children's well-being.

Great reaction as always. I was a heroin addict from age 11-17 in gangs and surrounded by violence. I managed to escape and get clean I’m now 40 and have two kids and while dealing with my past I’ve survived 3 suicide attempts. Anyway, as a a thought seeing as he’s back I’d suggest you give Eminem a listen and his song beautiful. The lyric content of that song hits hard but has a positive story in it. Worth a reaction.

Lights never guided me home. I fixed others but myself. All my efforts, all my love, in vain. What I got in return was a brain hemorrhage which took away my memories. And now, "my family and freinds" say I'm difficult to deal with because of my memory loss. All I wanted was a freindly human touch. But it's too much effort to put in, they say. So no, lights never guided me home. I apologize for being so negative but that's life. Stuck in reverse.
@MentalAmanda
@MentalAmanda 9 дней назад
I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time. It's incredibly challenging to feel like your efforts haven't been recognized or reciprocated. Memory loss can indeed strain relationships, and it must be incredibly frustrating to feel misunderstood or distant from those you care about. It's okay to feel negative sometimes; life can be incredibly difficult, and it's important to acknowledge those feelings. It's also important to remember that you're not alone, even if it might feel that way right now. Are you part of any support groups for others struggling with brain injuries or memory loss? Sometimes it can be very helpful to connect with others who will understand when the people close to you don't. If you ever want to talk more or share more about what you're going through, you can always message me on IG @mentalamanda.

You might try doing a reaction to "Life is Beautiful" from Sixx AM. It's actually an album created from the book Nikki Sixx wrote called "The Heroine Diaries". A look back at his addiction and near-death experiences. Now clean for over 20 years, Nikki is doing well living in Idaho with his wife and children. The book and album are not for the faint of heart as it really digs into the tragedy and hopelessness of addiction. I read the book 4 times and listen to the songs a few times a month. It's thought provoking and emotional.

Hi Amanda hope you are well. I know that music can be great therapy. I know you cover really deep and emotional music and I wanted to ask if you have heard the new song by James Blunt called The Girl that Never Was? Trigger Warning: The reason I ask is because you so courageously shared that you sadly had a miscarriage. I won’t even pretend to understand how devastating that must be. The song written by James Blunt was written after he and his wife lost their child to miscarriage. I don’t know if that is something that you just can’t do but it’s such a powerful and sad song that has some joy in it as well. Best wishes to you and keep on truckin!

I definitely think something inside me broke when I started sliding into depression. It took a long time for me to notice and by the time I did I couldn’t even tell what it was that I needed to fix. I think this is why I do not respond to treatment.
