The silver spoon may be a reference to cocaine use which Stevie Nicks did use to excess, but you do not "fix a hit" to use cocaine, nor even with heroin, which you cook, to get a fix, however most likely it is a reference to a spoiled woman, which would fit more with the crux of the song which is about the after effects of having a relationship with a woman who will not emotionally commit

There’s more to it. She was documenting the cultural shift that occurred during the 70s. The song is a message telling people (women and men) that the party was ending.

They say it but I’ve seen her many times live solo and with Fleetwood Mac and she most definitely cast a spell on you. She takes a hold of you and does not let go for the entire show. She literally sings to your soul. Sounds dramatic but Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac ( when Christine Mcvie was alive god rest her soul ) was and is an experience live. Their studio work is amazing and they take to a whole other level live. They are genuine gold standard musicians. I wish their was a live CD for every tour they have done since 1974 because it’s that freakin good live.

You may have noticed that most reactors think FM is Stevie's band and even if they listen to a Christine McVie song they will attribute it to Stevie. I'm sure I heard one reaction channel listen to something like 'Go Your Own Way' and talk about Stevie's vocals. They don't realise there are other (dare I say 'better'?) singers in the band and would probably collapse in a heap if they found out that Mick Fleetwood is playing the drums.
