Before I got into metal, this was the rock music of my youth. Foreigner had a lot of great rock songs back in the 70's and 80's like this one. Others to check out: Waiting for a Girl Like You, Cold as Ice, Dirty White Boy, Double Vision, Blue Morning Blue Day, Say You Will, That Was Yesterday, Long Long Way From Home, and Head Games. Other good ones have already been done by Asia and BJ. Check what they've already done.
This band desrves so much respect... they have had some amazing hits......... 'Feels Like The First Time' - 'Cold As Ice' - 'Waiting For a Girl Like You'
One of my favorite bands ever. IMO, they wrote the greatest love song ever "Waiting For A Girl Like You" Everything a man wants and should say to a Woman. Asia will love it 👍
I was in high school when this came out. I lived near Rochester, NY, and the singer was from Rochester, so every song from Foreigner go played to death on the local radio stations. This is one of the few songs by them I still can listen to over and over. I love the guitar solo; it sounds like a "first take" played live.
Back when I was in the military I saw them in Puerto Rico in the late 1980's. It was an outdoor concert and it poured rain the entire time. It was a blast. Yes, I know Im old!!
@Feldspar Actually I saw and listened to Foreigner with Lou’s replacement, who has been with them for many years,he is excellent. With Lou’s physical problems he could not be singing lead with the band avyway
@@joelliebler5690 - He’s been doing appearances with Foreigner. As for the soundalike, his natural voice is great. He doesn’t need to copy Lou. Especially now that Mick barely plays in the band now!
Next should be "Cold as Ice" but would love for Asia to hear "Waiting for a Girl Like You" because she will melt. 👍🏽❤ Nothing like having a cover band lead singer hone in on you with a Foreigner song like that one, oh the memories!! ❤🥳😳😁
What I love about Foreigner is that they had these "high libido level" songs (like Van Halen), then they had a few great introspective hits like "I Want to Know What Love Is" and "That Was Yesterday" too. Such a great repertoire of music from this band!
I remember this song 🎶 on a jukebox!! Like in the 70s and 80s ! Waiting for a girl like you is a favorite one of mine!! I was dating a guy that said the song reminded him of me!!
In high school, back in 78, my junior year, myself, and several other students were in an "Audio/Visual" class...at that time, there was kids run radio station in the high school, a little 1,ooo watt FM, when this song came out, my girlfriend said you need a name like wolfman Jack, she said, you should be "The Hot Blooded DJ", and to this day, nearly 50 years later, people around here still call me "Hot Blooded" referencing my soon to be over teenage years...Rock ON!!!
He putting on a rock show. She is in the audience. He is thinking she is a fine young thing. He is letting her know how he feel, thinks and wants!!!! 💕❤️💕🔥🔥 whoooooow
Wow; I’m back in 6th grade, and this was the first Foreigner song I heard; lifelong fan since! My friends and I formed a club that we called the Hot Bloods; we had no idea what it meant; we were so silly 😂😂😂
Are you sure you guys aren’t from my generation? Cause you get down to the music of my time, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond! Maybe you’re really rock lovers? lol thx for enjoying this music, nothing like Foreigner! Give me some rock and roll!!!!
In 1976 (when I was 4) I completely fell in love with KISS. A year or two later when this song came out I was still young enough to not have a broad understanding of different groups and when I heard this song on the radio I loved it so much I thought and automatically assumed it had to be a KISS song. Lou Graham is one of the greatest voices in rock history.
OMG!!!!! I remember being a kid in in the 1970's in Torrance CA and going to the Plunge public swimming and they blasted this song all day long!! So much fun!
*They were one of the bands at my first concert in 1978; Cal Jam 2. I was about 2 months shy of turning 16 yrs and I was there more than 24 hrs. Loved the whole thing...and it resulted in me seeing many many many more concerts.*
I loved seeing the two of you react to this one. Foreigner was a major player during the mid-late 70's and early 80's. I'm pretty sure I have already shared the story of how my mother managed to get the Double Vision album that was on my 1978 Christmas wish list, so I won't share it again. (Hint -- it could be described as an album by people from another country with funny eyes or eye problems 🤣).
The initial line-up of Foreigner, like Fleetwood Mac, & The Pretenders was part British & part American. The name was clever because they were foreigners in America and the UK.
I’ve always loved this song This song came out three years before I was born in 1978 but the first thing I think of when I hear it is the show Bones which has nothing to do with the movie Bones It’s a murder mystery show and Bones is a forensics scientist Her real name on the show is Temperance Brennan She got the nickname from her partner who’s an FBI agent named Seeley Booth This was their favorite song on the show Seeley Booth is the guy who played Angel on the spinoff of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series
Wife here..You two are two darn cute picking up on these little "innuendos"..Yes..Guitar awesome vibes..Yes Ms. ASIA AND BJ..You are so relative with he said it to her respectufully..So on point.!!.He puts the ball in her court.., so very PC..I think that's the key to the song being popular until today
I lost count on how many times I have seen them in concert, and they were great. Can't go wrong with them hope you show the videos next time please 🙏❤. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤💙
DOUBLE VISION has 6o be next from the same period. Then, one of their last great songs from the Lou Gramm years, CAN'T WAIT. You will definitely love these songs.
Foreigner was absolute fire in concert back in the 70's and 80's and the extended lyrics to this song live were great " girl, I'll make you famous..a star on Uranus"
Hey y’all! I know this was many months ago- (I’m still doing some RE-watching-🙂 ). man, y’all still haven’t done their epic song “Waiting for a girl like you.” PLEASE do that one- y’all will NOT regret it!😁💝✨🔥. Love Foreigner, sooo many greats, including this one here!
Funny story. I sang this song in my first band when I was 12 years old in 1977 for a mini concert at my elementary school. Really had no clue what I was REALLY SINGING. but the whole auditorium including the deaf students were out of there seats clapping along. 🤣
That was the great thing about music of that era. They could play the songs on the radio without editing. The parents and kids could get into it. The sexual innuendo completely flew over our heads.
Love you guys, it's always good to see you both. Thank you for reacting to Foreigner. More please :) Couple of cool ones "Double Vision" and "Long, long Way From Home".
You did some tone loc the other day and he had a hit funky cold medina . Knew he sampled the riff but couldn't remember from what, now I remember.. do tone loc song wild thing, also if you like this song
I was 103-4 one time and you aren't meeting nobody nowhere. I couldn't hold water down and everything tasted like salt. That fever broke luckily and after 2 weeks I broke out in purple blotches. The doc said it was a virus and that there are so many out there mine was unknown. That was decades ago and I'm all better now, lol.
Happened to me also ,I was delirious, Its a weird feeling being asleep but awake at the same time . it happened a long time ago but I still remember it,... well sorta.
