Just to let you know- Freddie was the very first rock singer to ever go a collab with an opera singer. It was unheard of back then and people had laughed when they heard, but were absolutely blown away after hearing them. They actually did an album together and became very good friends. This was only about a year and a half before he died. You actually pronounced her name correctly!! Please react to the very early White Queen live at Hammersmith Oden 1975. Also, you must hear Exercises in Free Love sung by Just Freddie. The back story of this one is Freddie did the song bring to Spain for his first meeting with Monserrat. He wanted her to hear what he wrote for her and sang both parts, do to speak. She was so very impressed with his range and his ability to go from Baritone to Falsetto seamlessly. You know there’s a video where scientists actually reviewed and studied Freddie’s voice and pointed out a few things that he had and does that no one else has or can do. They had not ever seen that before, nor think they ever would again. He can literally sing any genre with ease. Just wait and see when you hear Exercises in Free Love. So very pleased you all are enjoying the Queen catalog. Queen fans are the best!!!

Freddie was a huge lover of opera, and after seeing a performance by Montessori Cabballet he fell in love with her voice. A meeting between them was arranged and a lifelong friendship was born. They did the Barcelona album, Freddie wrote all of songs with Mike Moran and Tim Rice. There are no limits to this man's talents. Enjoy

The whole album is a lesson in how to make fine songs from start to finish, not a filler song anywhere. Rock and Opera together, who would have thought it, Freddie would thats who, He did it before and did it again with an actual opera singer this time.

The Most Powerful Voice in the World In 2016, a group of Austrian, Czech and Swedish scientists investigated Freddie Mercury's vibrato and voice tone. An investigation investigated that vibrato (vibrations produced by nervous tremor in the diaphragm and larynx to release the voice note) range from 5.4 Hz to 6.9 Hz. Reaching 6.9 Hz is already extraordinarily powerful. Freddie Mercury's voice vibrato was found to be 7.04 Hz, far above average. Such reach explains the success of the partnership with a Spanish opera singer Montserrat Cabellé, who, in 1988, recorded an entire album with Freddie Mercury.

I loved your reaction to this....there is so much more to hear from the Barcelona album. You will really love the title track, which became the theme song for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. There is The Golden Boy, a story about a rock star and his lady. There is How Can I Go On, a short but beautiful ballad. And one I have never heard anyone react to: La Japonaise, which he and Montserrat sing partly in Japanese. Freddie either wrote or co-wrote every song on this album. He also sang Montserrat's parts on the demos so she would be quickly able to learn the songs due to her heavy schedule. It is a tremendous accomplishment and when you hear him talk about it in interview you can tell he was very proud of it. You two are truly fun to watch videos with!

Thank you so much for this reaction, I Loved watching your reaction I guess now you can understand why this song is on repeat for me It's a very beautiful song. You should watch Barcelona next Please, It's the track that started it all, without these two magnificent singers getting together to make this duet back in 1987 for the upcoming 1992 Olympics games. It was when they met and found this connection did Montserrat Caballe say to Freddie how many songs on a rock n roll album Freddie replies 10, Montserrat said we should record an album which Freddie was taken back but I'm sure pleased as well as he had to write all the songs foe this album but Freddie reached out to Sir Tim Rice who wrote the last 2 songs to complete album.

"Exercises In Free Love" PULEAZE! It is Freddie singing a piece that he had written FOR Montse (That is her nickname). He recorded himself singing it, so she could have an idea of his vision for how it should sound. (On the Barcelona album, Montse also sings it and the title is Ensueno.)

Freddie loved the Ballet and Opera he wrote an album and the title track Barcelona was used for the 1992 Olympics which unfortunately Freddie didn't see as he passed away in 91,you should listen to him live and impromptu with the audiences, every show was different, you've got around 13 albums by Queen in his lifetime,a couple released after he'd passed away, there's also solo albums from Freddie,Roger Taylor and Dr Brian May,nothing from John Deacon he retired from public life in 1997 six years after Freddie died

Your reaction was great! Watching your faces...Gobsmacked is what you were. That was awesome. The story goes that Freddie, who adored Montserrat, was so nervous about meeting her, he smoked two packets of cigarettes before she arrived at the hotel. He had written and recorded a demo for her called Exercises in Free Love (which you should definitely watch, you’ll really hear Freddie’s incredible vocal range) she loved it and suggested they do an entire album together. In fact she asked Freddie how many songs they would put on a rock album and he replied 10. So she said, that is it then, we’ll do 10 songs. Freddie wrote all the songs with Mike Moran, and Exercises in Free Love became Ensueno on the album. The whole album is incredible, but please do the title track Barcelona, and I’d love you to watch Exercises in Free Love. That’s when you will realise that man really could sing anything.

I love that song, without a doubt a great friendship that Freddie and Monserrat had. I think John Deacon (bassist for Queen) played bass on this song. In a series of questions they asked him about the solo album that he liked the most from his companions (Brian, Roger and Freddie) and he answered Freddie and Monserrat, without a doubt he had good taste. Nice video and reaction

Thanks, Badd Boyz - this is my favorite from the opera that Freddie wrote for "Montsy" - as he came to call her when they got together - he was a huge fan of her as an opera singer, so he wrote this ENTIRE opera her -- called "Barcelona" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y1fiOJDXA-E.html (she is Spanish, and the Olympic games were due to be held in Barcelona) - the title song was meant to be performed by the two at the opening ceremonies in 1992, but sadly, Freddie passed in 1991) - nevertheless, they did record quite a few songs from his compositions... another great one was "the Golden Boy" -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OPizyP4x30I.html (btw, one thing I particularly love about "how can I go on" - is the joy and smile on Montserrat's face.. while she is actually lip-synching Freddie's parts - they really loved each other!)

Freddie and Monsterrat were such good friends. When Monsterrat accepted Freddie's oppounity to merge Opera with Rock n Roll, she asked that he write a song about her home town Barcelona. Whala! There you have it! Freddie was a lifetime admirer of opera and did a demo for her singing both voices since they were in different locations. S he loved it. This album was his life's dream to perform with her. You can see the love in both of their faces and actions to understand the depth of respect they had for one another. It is the most romantic album I have ever heard. Freddie composed the whole album. Talented? Good grief. He is just phenomenal and Monsteerrat is the most celebrated opera star hands down! Really enjoyed watching your faces in this musical zone.. I could tell you were practically in a trance absorbing every note they produced.. I am the very same way. Thanks for sharing this with me!
