some amazing live versions: Explosia (Brixton) - Where Dragon's Dwell (Hellfest 2013) - Gift of Guilt (Brixton) - Oroborus (Garorock) - The way of all Flesh (Garorock) Awesome reactions as always man!! \m/
I haven't seen it recommended yet but Ne Obliviscaris - "Forget Not" or "And plague flowers the caleidoscope" are absolute unreal pieces of modern music. They were in fact so good, that they teach the track at the sydney conservatorium of music. You seem like you would enjoy them : - )
Definitely recommend the live version of "and plague flowers the kaleidoscope" from Colorado. The sound quality is great and the bass sounds even better than the studio version.
Here are some suggestions: Gojira: Where Dragons Dwell, Ocean Planet, Backbone, The Cell, Magma, Low Lands, Vacuity, Only Pain Bad Wolves: Officer Down, Learn to Live, Better the Devil, I’ll Be There, Killing me Slowly Mushroomhead: Before I Die, Solitaire/Unraveling, Born of Desire, Elevation, Too Much Nothing, 43, Bwomp, Our Apologies, Devils be Damned, Qwerty, We Are the Truth, Son of 7, Out of My Mind, Save Us/Embrace the Ending, The Need, Kill Tomorrow, Sun Doesn’t Rise, Nowhere to Go, Eternal, Destroy the World Around Me, Crazy Puscifer: Humbling River Dream Theater: At Wit’s End, Paralyzed Cain’s Offering: Constellation of Tears I know I just listed a lot of songs but I think each of these are worth checking out and barely any reaction channels have reacted to most of these songs so it would be cool to see your reactions to them :)
Really enjoying this Gojira marathon bro, keep the reactions comin we're all jammin out with ya! If you've never checked out Trivium you should give them a shot, I think you'd really enjoy their style. Less heavy than Gojira but still heavy as hell, they have some of the most complex drum sequences you'll hear in modern metal and each album of theirs has a unique feel to it. For a couple of intro recommendations I might start with "The Sin and the Sentence", "Silence in the Snow", or "Beyond Oblivion"
Yes- brilliant choice. Drew likes a lot of the melodic singing in the metal stuff he has been listening to, and Trivium have a brilliant balance of super melodic singing and roaring choruses. Add in stunning musicianship, air guitar moments all over the place and yup, we gotta get some Trivium in there. Really looking forward to the new album nxt month.
@@somniumrabidum Im really really impressed with the two songs they've unleashed frommit so far! Its like a cool continuation from the last album. I think Matt has really showed even more confidence in his singing over the last coupla albums, and there is a brilliant balance yet again of musicianship that effortlessly is catchy and complex in the right places. Yeah, bring the new album on!
As far as i understand, the song is about veganism, joe is a vegan, and the lyrics "no other blood in me but mine" and the way he talks about a "genocide", would make sense at least!
Oh, I remembered. You didn't react to Trivium yet. I think you'll love them. Well they have the newest song What the dead men say. First couple of min will get blocked but you can go ahead and cut it cause it's a different song.
This song is very environmental/personal in nature, and some of the lyrics take some cues from the lead singer's previous stint as a vegetarian. "No other blood in me but mine", "time to open your eyes to this genocide", "when you change yourself you change the world", "You’re receiving the gold of a better life", etc. Both Mario and Joe stopped eating meat for a few years, although I'm pretty sure they're both omnivores again now.
Lifelong metal head here....your videos are great dude! I've loved these bands for years and seeing your fresh reactions has been alot of fun. LOVED your Ghost of Perdition video. Cheers 🍻
Part of the lyrics are centred around the consumption of meat (the genocide, no other blood in me but mine), there's a reference to Gandhi's quote about changing yourself and changing the world. The people flying up might be a counterpoint to the line "dead bodies falling from the sky", so maybe ascending in a way. Joe has a very symbolic and cryptic way of expressing himself, much like Maynard.
loving the reaction videos! i love discovering when people are just discovering them and reacting song by song, just like I did (well back in 2006). I've loved this band for 14 years now, and I get so excited to turn people onto them. great vids!!
Long time watching, first time commenting. It was awesome to watch you discover Tool. They are one of my favourite bands. I was happy to see someone else enjoying their songs for the first time. I even envied that feeling when you discover something new that you instantly like. But now I'm in the same position as you. Never really listened to Gojira. Now i get to experience them for the first time and this track just blew my mind. I've got goosebumps! Thank you and those who keep suggesting awesome music!❤️
Meshuggah - The Demon's Name is Surveillance is a nice leg day tune. I think never played live for a reaoson. I suggest looking up some drum cover video for it.
Drew you teasing devil 😂 can’t wait for Where Dragons Dwell tomorrow. (Just assuming) I haven’t seen this Gojira song requested yet; try out Oroborus. It’s another banger
I really enjoy the Gojira reactions and I want them to continue, but I really wanna see you react to Sepultura, and songs like Ratamahatta (the song is in portuguese, which is something different), Territory, and Refuse/Resist are all great songs.
I think in general, the "Magma" album will grab ya. Its mostly in this style, with some more tracks reliant on more singing. This song , like "Stranded" is a bit less intricate and progressive from them, but thats what I like about 'em. Huge instant riffs, big memorable chorus. Ive seen Trivium mentioned here in the comments. Yes!! They are a class band, that have complexities, catchiness, huge guitar solos and musicianship-and a great vocal balance from rushing melodic singing to a roaring defiance. I think youve reacted and liked some Killswitch Engage on here? If you liked that, and wanna hear somethin like that, I recommend Trivium. Recent song, "The Catastrophist" is a brilliant indication of what they get up to these days. So - Trivium, Devin Townsend- "Genesis", and some Pantera (classic 90s groove metal). Looking forward to more reactions, mate. Go raibh maith agat.
Gojira has some great instrumentals aswell. Dunno if they'll be ideal for videos, but I'd still recommend listening to them even off camera, especially the Wild Healer.
With Gojira short means streight to the point :D Btw, did you consider giving SOAD a shot, I'm quite conident you would like a lot of their stuff. They used to be my favourite band back when I was teen, but I find them still so enjoyable to listen even to this day!
Gojira - Remembrance! You can do the studio version or the live one from The Link Alive DVD, either way this is one of the heavier tracks for me, and the ending breakdown is a must
New sub here - love the videos. This one actually spent some time on SiriusXM for a bit (it was actually the first Gojira song I ever heard as a result). If you've never heard them before, you might like Eluveitie - Rebirth might be a song that interests you. Stay safe out there! ...oh yea, Unleash the Archers "Awakening" too! :P
I'll continue my shouting out for you to check out Mastodon, their tracks Halloween, Jaguar God or The Last Baron for starters. Oh man, you like guitar riffs and groove, Mastodon have them both in loads :)
I was a little late on toxic garbage island video, so I'll mention it again. If you want a break from their heaviness I suggest Low Lands. It's one of my favorites of theirs, it gives me goosebumps.
Come on Drew, Where Dragons Dwell live at Hellfest 2013. You are ready. Failing that - From Mars/To Sirius. The one that I first heard all those years ago... and it never let go.
Every track on the Magma album is well worth a listen. If you want more of calm track, try Low Lands. Still heavy just on the other end of their spectrum.
Little known fact here but you see the person flying up into the air at 4:25? That's actually their drummer Mario, his foot hit the bass drum with that much brute force it shot him straight into the sky.
As a self professed Gojira expert - listen to these; Clone - Off of Gojira's first album, one of their best songs and a good idea to see how far they've progressed Oroborus The Way of All Flesh All the Tears Vacuity Backbone From Mars - To Sirius In reality, Gojira's discography is all gems so listen to all of it. But their best work is From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh albums.
Hi! Thanks for reaction. Try please Tesseract band. I think you like it. Especial songs - Survival, King, Dystopia, Eden, Nascent, Acceptance, Deception, Emotive. I hope you like it. Thx for content, you best! ))
Ah! My favorite Gojira song. For a lot of people this may not be that "heavy", but it honestly is, at least for me. The riff, the drums, Joe's emotions, the lyrics, the videography, all that together makes this song heavy AF.
Got in here fast, so I gotta make a suggestion.....Clone from their album Terra Incognita....some really fucking heavy groove death metal, you will be able to see how they evolved their sound from these earlier songs
