"Nasty", "Control", "When I Think of You", "Pleasure Principal", "Rhythm Nation", "Miss You Much", "Escapade", "Black Cat", "Alright", "Love Will Never Do", "That's The Way Love Goes", "If" and "Together Again" (and these barely scratch the surface!) Complete 80s style. Hairstyle, oversized blazer with huge shoulder pads, button down long shirt, stretch pants and probably flat pointy shoes or capezios dancer shoes. Most girls went to the salvation army thrift store and bought men's blazers and long coats and rolled up the sleeves. Overall fun decade.

The woman sitting at the table talking to Janet at the beginning is singer/dancer/choreographer, Paula Abdul. Paula also choreographed the video. Janet is the youngest of the Jacksons. She was 3 when their debut album came out in 1969. She was ABSOLUTELY HUGE in the 80s and 90s!!! She has soooo many monster hits!!!! Rhythm Nation, Miss You Much, Nasty, Control, If, All For You and Alright are just a few songs that showcase her dancing skills. You should also do Scream which was a duet with MJ.

There are 9 Jacksons 3 girls in the family, Janet is the baby - she has sister Latoya and another Rebbie they also had solo careers but Janet and Michael blew it out of the water. You have to listen to more Janet - she has great songs from the Control album (1986) and this is one of them. she had two albums before this but they didnt do well because she was just trying to find her sound and she was really young I thing 16 and 18 - here she is 20 and she always considers this her first album; Michael, Madonna, Prince, George Michael, Whitney Houston, Janet are iconic!

"Black Cat" is my favorite Janet Jackson song. I would wait a few to do this one, since this is more of a rocker song like Joan Jett or Pat Benatar. I know Janet from "Different Strokes" a sitcom from the 80s. If you haven't watched that show Jayvee, I think you will like it. I can't remember the detail, but I think the maid of a wealthy businessman dies a long with her husband, and then he ends up taking care of their two kids. It's a comedy.

Janet and Michael did a duet called "Scream" - the video is wild. Check out "Centipede" by the other sister, Rebbie Jackson. She's the oldest. It was her only hit. Also, not sure you noticed, but the friend Janet is talking to at the beginning of the video is Paula Abdul, who was her choreographer for years before she became a singer.

Janet Jackson doesn't have a strong singing voice; what she Does have is confidence & a strong work ethic, like Michael. Both spent hours rehearsing/choreographing dance routines, and it shows. My favorite song & video of hers is Love Will Never Do Without You; she looks really good in it, too. I remember a video of Michael laughing/grousing about her asking him to use some "military" moves of his for her Rhythm Nation album; the magic worked & it sold 12m copies. Nice to see people still want to hear her👍

Like Jam & Lewis have said in interviews, she has a voice like Diana Ross that you can sing along with. Whereas the Whitneys and Mariahs are singers you listen to. Fair point, and doesn’t detract from her talent. And I’m not reading it as Michael doesn’t have a strong singing voice, I’m reading it as they both share a work ethic. @@jennifertebomosiane9596 Read my comment again. I happen to be an admirer of MJ's talents, both singing and dancing. His voice really shone in songs like She's Out Of My Life, which happened to have been written with Frank Sinatra in mind till the songwriter heard Michael sing it. Opinions are just that: I'll state again for you: Janet Jackson was a great performer, but she did Not have Michaels' vocal abilities. If you think otherwise, that's your right.

Janet was a huge deal in the 80's into the 90's. She had the moves too. My goodness she had SO MANY HITS! This is from her first album "Control" which EVERYONE owned and played to death! Then her album "Rhythm Nation" blew everyone's mind. She's as influential as her brother!

They have Rebbe Jackson who released Centipede". Nice try, but not talented, then the other sister LaToya, who also tried but has absolutely no talent at all. Janet is the youngest in the family. When she was around 5 or 6, the Jackson 5 put her in their shows and did a little shtick where she imitated Mae West.
