Magic … choked up too & seen many times. This was a special moment organized by her fans & the pianist as a surprise given Lara was at a very low point in her life personally! Tho in French… Lara sings “I love You” & crowd responds “We Love You” … Excellent reaction ♥️

This song "Je T'aime" (I love you) is Lara’s original song, and probably is her most famous and well-known song around the world (along with “Adagio”). This video is from Lara’s concert “Nue” in Paris in 2002. It really shows how much Lara’s fans love and support her. Here is a short story behind that performance: Lara had some serious problems in her professional and personal life at that time (2000-2002); she even had suicidal thoughts. Her fans new about that and they wanted to express their love and support to Lara on her concert in Paris. A group of Lara’s fans approached her pianist and musical director Pierre Grimard before the concert and agreed that they will begin to sing that song "Je T'aime" before Lara. When they sang for her they changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. The entire audience (more than 6000 people!) sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lately Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it.

Hello .. In this particular concert Mrs Lara Fabian was having a very difficult time in life, the whole concert was very emotional and Mrs Lara's connection with the audience was extraordinary. I believe that afterwards this concert to some extent helped Mrs Lara to find the strength to overcome the problems she was going through. Greetings from Portugal.

What makes it special is that it is a love song that is meant to be sung for the audience, but as the audience then sings for her, which then shows a mutual love between them. True love. And that honesty from the audience and Lara touches me. A once in a lifetime experience that we have fortunately been allowed to experience. How must it not have been and be in that concert hall when so many years later we can be as moved as many of us have become, by and watch that video.

The story (don't know whether its true of not), is that the band was in on it! There was a choir in the audience who contacted her band and told them what they planned. And then the whole audience got in on it and created a MOMENT!

Here, as an audience, we pay tribute to her after a painful and difficult relationship where we thought we were losing her and a world artist on a large scale. We did not give up in love we supported her and she managed to get out of a destructive relationship and return as a world artist again.

This concert and the reaction of that crowd were epic. Allegedly Lara was suffering from a depression so bad at that time (by what she was going through) that she had suicidal thoughts. This concert & that moment was some kind of turning point for her and she refound the will to live further and enjoy life. It moved her very deeply that so many people let her know that they loved her! On a nice side note: Because Serge Lama (the songwriter of Je Suis Malade) knew how much Lara's song (Je Taime) meant to her; he sang it to her also on French television. She was moved by this also. Good morning from what I understand the French press was critical of Lara, personally she was suffered a loss ( also she was trying to bring her music to The United States and there were obstacles ) Lara,was getting it from every end and emotionally she was suffering the effects( suicidal thoughts) that is why she sat down and yet didn't automatically sing ( unbenost to her the man playing the piano had something printed to give the fans as they entered the building He asked if they would sing to Lara, her song Jetaine ( I love you) she started to sing yet the piano player stopped playing she looked back at him.in puzzlement one fan yelled out to Lara don't sing the audience started singing we love you Lara, the business side of music can be a mine field ( yet when Laras music team as well as her fans do this out of love for their beloved Lara says a lot about the love she feels about sharing her gift of music everyone has a breaking point and yet Lara,shows her vulnerability and her heart stand tall and hold your head high Lara, don't allow the critics trolls and toxic people diminish your beautiful heart You Are Loved For The Gift You Are ( im.so very glad she found her true love her husband Gabrielle!

I have to give a little background by this song. Lara Fabian was going through a very difficult time personally & professionally. Because of this, a group of her fans decided to surprise her and sing her own song to her. And the whole stadium chimed in. Can you imagine that maybe 10.000 fans singing your song to lift you up? "Je t'aime" means I love you, but her fans sing to her "on t' aime" and that means we love you. This singing for her by her fantastic fans; made her very emotional towards the end of the song. Absolutely magical and touching to see how this crowd was lifting her spirit up by doing this. Later she said that because of this: she knew that life was worth living further! I loved your reaction and comments on the end about overcoming our (political) differences. Yes, it would be nice when people could overcome differences more often.

Yay!!!! Thank you so much for another great reaction to Lara Fabian!! It’s always fantastic to see how touched people are when seeing this performance for the first time (or second, third, forth, fifth..... lol). Like many have already stated, Lara was at a very low point in her life.. her fans knew it and collaborated with her music director to give this beautiful gift to Lara. Them signing WE love you, and how she signs WITH them is so beautiful. I would love to see more Lara reactions. From her concert “From Lara with Love”, some must sees are: You’re not from here Caruso Adagio Broken vow All master classes in vocals and performance!!! Looking forward to the next one! Oh and btw, Lara was having issues in her personal life and wasn't feeling good so in the song "je t'aime" means i love you, and instead of singing that, the crowd sings "on t'aime" which translates to "we love you". Truly beautiful❤️

It was really too bad that whoever recommended this to you didn't choose the one with subtitles so that you could understand the lyrics thus fully appreciate what was happening. While the song and main lyric was "Je t'aime" (I love you) the crowd sang "On t'aime" (We love you).

I completely agree with you about this performance (and the revenue rant), particularly with the sorry state of US politics at the moment. But check the World Music Awards 1999 with her live performance. That's pure art. Also, I was an exchange student in the US in the 1990s. I still find it hopeful that there are reasonable people in the US. Greetings from Europe.

Because this is the version that was suggested to me. Sometimes you don't need to understand the words to appreciate the music. I have since watched it many times with subtitles and understand it perfectly. I think I made the right call, the music and how it affected me, says it all.

Many people say that this was a moment organized by the crowd and the pianist. That's bullshit. You can see that the pianist just improvises. He goes with the flow, like trained musicians can do, and how Lara Fabian does. The comments saying that somehow, the crowd controlled this moment, are stupid. This was one of these moments that just happened.

Before the song start, you can hear someone in the audience saying: "Chante pas Lara!". And if you look at Lara, she first seems surprised that the pianiste don't start. She gives him a little sign of the head. Then, in a second time, she realise the audience is singing.

This concert and the reaction of that crowd were epic. Allegedly Lara was suffering so bad at that time (by what she was going through) that she had suicidal thoughts. This concert & that moment was some kind of turning point for her and she refound the will to live further and enjoy life. It moved her very deeply that so many people let her know that they loved her! On a nice side note: Because Serge Lama (the songwriter of Je Suis Malade) knew how much Lara's song (Je Taime) meant to her; he sang it to her also on French television. She was moved by this also. Je T'aime (I Love You - lyrics Lara Fabian and probably her most famous song). A fan yells "don't sing, Lara!" looking bewildered she hears her fans start singing. Lara starts with "you caught me off guard!" As she starts another fan cries out "don't cry. Lara". Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing someone close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love You)! You would think that this was Freddie Mercury's last concert performed before a sold out concert!!

@@TheSpeakEasyLounge French is tricky to sing aswell, don't really have the clear explanation in the top of my mind but the way we form words makes it way harder than a song in english and I guess most french people disliking "easy/dumb" lyrics isn't helping.
