Lea unfortunately was not the voice of Pocahontas. She was the singing voice of Princess Jasmine and Mulan. Title role of Kim in Miss Saigon and She also was the star in Les Miserables. Her career spans 40 years. She has been singing on stage since a child. I saw her in Miss Saigon in London 30 years ago. I was 12 or 13 at the time and have loved her ever since. My favorite is Lea and Rachelle Ann Go. The movie in my mind. Please react to Movie in my mind. It blows you away.
She is totally, fvcking amazing on every level -- every time I think she can't out-do herself, she's like "Hold my beer" and sings out a song that I cannot even comprehend the talent. Respect x 10000.
I had a feeling she didn't do the voice, that's usually the case. Like Nightmare before Christmas as well, different singer and voice actor. I wonder which movies have the same singer and voice actor
You’re right she’s telling a story… she tells the story as she sings and enunciate each word well and you feel with each word she sings! That’s the wonder of Lea Salonga
This was sung by Judy Kuhn. Remember the song she sing Les Miz on my own. Remember she not love by the man And he love cossette that was done by Judy Kuhn. A small world right!!!!!!
Lea was a Disney princess singing voice twice. For Aladdin's A whole new world and Mulan's Reflection. Its common for her to cover other Disney's theme songs. You'll see her sing songs from Frozen, Tarzan, and many others.
Yes - Lea didn’t sing this song originally, but she has sung many Disney songs (princess and otherwise) in concert and they’re totally worth hearing. By the way - you already reacted to Lea singing “On My Own” from LES MIZ as part of the 10th anniversary Dream Cast concert. Judy Kuhn originated the role of Cosette in LES MIZ on broadway and was part of that concert, too. Judy is the original singer of this song from the film Pocahontas. Definitely check out Lea’s other Disney covers. The latest one she has added is “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana - I’m obsessed with it! And there are tons of RU-vid vids of Lea pulling up an audience member to sing “A Whole New World” with her. Many of them are fantastic. FYI: her name is pronounced LAY-ah (not Lee-ah).
Her voice is incredible and has massive talent. This is one of my favorite Disney song. Thank you so much for reacting to this one and you are so right, it is very relatable to now.
Im feeling goood from all your reactions..you're such a natural🔥🔥🔥..keep it up!🙂🙂🙂 Lea Salonga is a living legend...so talented.. Philippines' pride ❤❤❤
I love Lea Salonga , Thanks for all your reactions about her singing. Please check on her Disney songs, A whole new world with Lea Salonga and Brad Kane on Good Morning America Also, Lea Salonga ( voice of Mulan) Reflection song
The song was performed in the film by singing actress Judy Kuhn and was subsequently released in 1995 by Vanessa Williams, becoming a top 10 hit on Billboard. Lea Salonga recorded her version in 2006.
I like the original version by Judy Kuhn and Lea Salonga's version better. Vanessa William's kind of murdered the intention of the song which is meant to be like a "talk" to the male character.
Thank you for understanding exactly how I feel about Lea Salonga! Same. Continue going down that rabbit hole. Yes, you have to see her live. I just watched her live in May 2022 in Honolulu, HI in addition to Les Miserables years ago. Absolutely incredible and I love this woman so much, too! Btw, subscribed. 😊
She had her UK tour, i think it was in July. I watched her few years ago in a theater play in NYC & before pandemic i watch her concert in Manchester, i was on the front seat 😀. What an amazing talent 👏
Hey- react to Taka’s brother - Group- MYFIRST SToRy See You Again ( Charlie Puth cover) missing you The Home Take - Hyena Younger brother See the talent - trust me!!!
I was fortunate to get tickets to the Christmas Concert of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square this coming December. Lea is the featured guest artist and I'm so excited. She is such a gifted performer.
I was fortunate enough to see Lea in Miss Saigon on Broadway. I remember falling in love with her almost immediately. She emits an energy that is quite high and it goes right into your soul. She is amazing. In my opinion Lea is right up there with Dimash, both in terms of vocal ability as well as a highly evolved human being.
Lea Salonga is a living legend. She's a Tony Awardee in the U.S and a Laurence Olivier Awardee in U.K. She's no ordinary singer. She's one of the greatest performers in the world. She got the part in Miss Saigon out of more than 3,000 artists who tried out for the part.
Grew up watching Pocahontas with my siblings and we loved it but this songs hits different when you're an adult. This is my fave Disney song by the way. And I'm Filipino, so 🇵🇭 pride!
I totally AGREE with everything that you said. You should also check out her collaboration tour with Il Divo. Josh Groban. You know what, just check out everything about her on YT. It's damn worth the time❤️.
I love how much you love Lea! Me too! Now that you're a fan, allow me to share how to pronounce her name: It's pronounced "Lay-uh" ...not the traditional Leah ("Lee-uh"). I think Lay-uh said she actually has a cousin named Leah, so her parents named her Lea ("Lay-uh") with a long-a, instead of a long-e, to change it up. Keep making great videos! :)
You just missed her UK concert✌🏻. May it be live concert or theatre, her performance is always just 200%! Follow her in Instagram too so you’ll see her UK schedules in the future.
I really enjoy your enthusiastic reactions. I first came to you with Pentatonix and then Lea Salonga... and you are right. She is outstanding! I encourage you to react to Luciano Pavarotti - a once in a century voice. A world-famous tenor, his signature song is "Nessun Dorma," from the opera Turandot. The recording to watch is his performance at the Three Tenors in Concert in 1994. You will be blown over with the power and the beauty.
This brings back many many memories... I used to watch pochahontas on VHS we would rent vhs tapes with my grandfather... And watch it together... Miss you both... Lolo diosdado and lola marciana.
You should react to literally any video of Lea performing on stage in Miss Saigon. She won the part as a teenager and played it in London and New York, then over the years did it in Manila and on an international tour. She sang and acted the hell out of that part. And it was her first major role anywhere
Very nice description of Lea. ***You should listen her sing "Reflections" from Mulan- she is the original Disney Princess for this song. Many young girls the world over identify with this song. I saw her on Broadway about 30 years ago as Eponine singing "On My Own". I still remember her performance to this very day.
Sorry dude--Lea is not performing the song in the movie--- 😮💨😒😪 Voice cast::--- (This info is taken from Wikipedia)--- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocahontas_(1995_film)#Voice_cast Irene Bedard as Pocahontas, the daughter of Chief Powhatan. She is a very adventurous person who defies her father's strict prohibition of meeting the English settlers and falls in love with Captain John Smith. Judy Kuhn as the singing voice of Pocahontas
Judy Kuhn was the original singer of the Color of the wind but damned, Lea was really great to. Leas sang with passion that you could almost see the whole movie flashing by right? 😍
Ok...after watching several of your reactions, I finally subscribed because of your comment somewhere at 2:55. Thanks because even if I memorize this song, when that relevant part was sang, I was thinking of the so-called elites who think the only people who are people are the people who look & think like them. If they only walk our footsteps...they will not turn us into transhumans.
Please react to Lea Salonga in King & I inside a recording studio with the legendary Julie Andrews ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P8LqY0CG04I.html She's on at 12:27 mark, then again at 19:25, again at 35:25 This is amazing. Julie Andrews and Lea Salonga together!!!!
If you get a chance, A Fall of Rain, from Les Miserables. I don't remember if it's the 10 year anniversary or the 25 year anniversary. it's the same show that you got the All Alone.
It IS a beautiful song, but the movie it's from is... while not terrible, it is also not terribly respectful of history or the people it is portraying, especially when you hear the people behind it talk about their intentions which... don't help. Like sometimes, it is better when you say nothing than saying the wrong thing, which is what they did talking about pocahontas and how they wanted to make her more "attractive" so to speak... On a technical aspect of how it's animated and whatnot, it's good. Some of the themes are pretty solid. But you really have to just pretend this is not the actual Pocahontas and the actual John Smith if you don't feel like cringing through the movie once you know how things really went and how old these people would have been in real life, at that time and everything else...
No one sings like Lea Salonga. This girl is also fantastic. 伊卉儿Katty . She has the voice of an Angel. I just made a RU-vid channel with her music and will keep adding great videos. It would be very interesting with a reaction.
She’s not the original singer for the original soundtrack of Colors Of The Wind, Pocahontas. Her pacing is too fast in this song, though her voice is good
I thought she was fast too until I saw the actual scenes of the movie. Pocahontas is running wildly in a forest, so I understand now why she is singing fast. Watch the Lea Salonga Disney Legend version; it comes with the animation in sync with her voice.
Hey Luke, I apologize in advance for spamming this, but can you please please please reacto to Billlie's Ring Ma Bell? I guarantee you won't regret it!
You are very right on your assessment on how Lea sings.your comments are very true in your words.Keep up the good work because you too have goodness in your heart.God bless.
My favorite performance of Lea is when she sang the song from a Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I. The song is called "My Lord and Master" . The song is by the character Tip Tum, one of the king's daughters in The King and I. Julie Andrews is part of this production. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P45oHA6cxig.html
How i wish you that you and your kids would be able to see her perform live. Really really really wish you'd be able to in the future. Chills and it really stays with you like even years after.
Love Lea, great reaction, I really enjoy that you love her so much. I have gotten to see her twice in concert. She is one of a kind. Judy Kuhn is also Broadway royalty. Her B'way debut was Mystery of Edwin Drood, she was B'way original Cosette in Les Mis, Olivor Award nominee for Maria in Metropolis and also for the 2020 West End production of Fiddler on the Roof playing Golda. She was the original Betty Schaefer in Sunset Blvd. when it premiered in Los Angeles. She originally recorded Colors of the Wind in 1995. Here she is nearly 25 years later at Concert for America and she sounds perfect. Judy is a great storyteller as well. Hope you enjoy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yX1qUZKqpYg.html
