Back door man had a very different connotation when this song was first written. It refered to a woman’s lover who escaped out of the back door when the husband came in the front.
I was born in 1960. Yes, Johnny's comment applies to even long before Led Z (my fav band as a teenager) wrote this song. BUT (pun intended), the other backdoor man meaning was also well known when this song came out...so just end this silly debate. It means both.
Backdoor man, decades ago was famously known to be a trope in Blues music in particular. It referred to a lover escaping out the back door as the husband came in the front door. Now-a-days, of course, its a whole 'nother story. But Plant and Led Zeppelin were completely versed in and masters of American Blues style music. So that was the intended meaning. Of course, its art, so we can take it how we like. Pun intended lol.
I’m buzzing I got a personal like from you ! But also and I shamefully admit that originally viewed your reaction to one of my favourite songs originally because I couldn’t take my eyes off how beautiful and sexy I thought you was ! But honestly I loved your work and enjoyed your reaction ! Damn I wish I was 25 years younger ! Keep doing you keep up your great channel and lastly but most importantly I hope you keep yourself happy and healthy 😘
Hello Blessing, "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin is some serious, crazy "ROCK-FIRE!!!" 🔥🔥🔥Nice reaction!!! We can see you are in full summer swing, with your hair, outfit & accessory colors!!! You are a beautiful person and a joy to have as a reactor on RU-vid!!! Thank you for putting smiles on our faces too!!!
Greatest band in history! That was Jimmy Page...greatest guitarist on the planet singing with Robert. He also sings on the chorus of Thank You...give a listen! Bonham...the drummer also sings on a few songs! Watch Bron Yr Stomp live and you can see that!
xxx lyircs , the music hits you like a hurricane , really mess up your hair (and brain ) ! just imagine being there at the concert very near to the stage - a huge full stadium - and you are very near to Plant and the band !
Sweet! Classic guitar solo, easily in the top ten of all time. Jimmy Page also plays his guitar with a violin bow on "How Many More Times" and "Dazed and Confused", two monster blues songs from their first album. He also embellishes their music from time to time with the sound of a theremin, an electronic musical instrument invented in 1920 that was typically used in the soundtrack to old school horror and sci-fi movies. Jimmy Page plays one in their concert film, The Song Remains The Same, during the middle passage to "Whole Lotta Love". The Beach Boys also used it on "Good Vibrations".
I feel blessed to watch this with you. Their drummer is widely considered the best ever, along with the rest of the band. Most influential rock band of forever. God bless you
Backdoor man is not what YOU think. Back in those days it meant they would sneak in and out of the backdoor of the house while the husband is out working.
The band was Robert Plant on vocals sometimes harmonica and tambourine, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on Bass/Keyboards various other instruments, and John Bonham on the drums.
If you haven’t yet, you have to see these guys live. The was a studio version with some Concert video thrown in for the video. Check out Since I’ve been Loving You or Stairway to Heaven first
Maybe the most primal guitar riff in all of rock, right here. Awesome rhythm, drumming, vocals and sound effects. Took a Willie Dixon song with extra lyrics to the next level, and then some.
Those sounds are Jimmy Page using a violin bow on his guitar.!! 😅🎸 You should watch live performances from Madison Square Garden 1973. You will LOVE IT!! Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll, No quarter, The Song Remains the Same, the Rain Song, Dazed and Confused!! React to the first song of that show, Rock and Roll.
You would have no way of knowing this, but this video you reacted to, good as it is, the song is slightly gutted in the mid section from the full original version. Anyone with attentive ears and also familiar with the song will pick up on it. Doesn't take away from your terrific reaction, and as I said, you wouldn't have known this. Excellent job, dear! The drummer was a madman named John "Bonzo" Bonham, and he would have certainly enjoyed a hug from you, but he sadly passed away many years ago.
Keep in mind this was 1969 ! Its so cool to see music this old reach someone so young . you have quickly become my favorite reactor . much respect to you
Great reaction to a classic powerhouse song about deep, powerful, electric sex. This SHOCKED people waaaay back in 1969. The sound, the power, the rawness, the lyrics, the wailing sexuality of the vocals with such heavy steely, gutteral guitar under it. Great reaction Queen. You Rule.
Singing with robert was jimmy page! Considered to be one of the greatest guitar players of all time. The drummer is john bonham who is the greatest drummer that ever lived period. Watch them actually live to see them in action i would suggest this same song at msg 1973
Loved your reaction and the message of the song will come to you if you have not guessed already. Please react to Stairway to heaven live at Madison square garden and thank you. Xxx
Robert's going to give you EVERY INCH of his love. You seemed to have missed that line. LOL.You need to do an actual live song. This is just a studio made montage.
Check out DAZED AND CONFUSED (Live at the Madison Square Garden/The Song Remaisn of the Same Movie). There you can see Jimmy Page playing his Guitar with a Violin Bow.... 29 Minutes pure Magic !!!
I'm dead sure that the surviving gang from Led Zep (Plant, Jimmy, and JPJ Richard Baldwin) will be thrilled to know that 50 years after this jam rocked half the world, it is still appreciated and admired by such a beautiful and lovely young lady who would be reacting to it ...
Hi there and a Happy today to you. What you were hearing were the effects used to create Psychedelic or Acid Rock. So if you've ever wondered... It's just too bad that they cut this song up so much too. I really wish people would just leave this music alone! You don't know what's best!
Back door man means going out of and in to the back of her home like her man would not coming and knocking on the front door. It does not mean what you think it means.
You'll be happy to know that I stayed right through your ramble at the end and I would like to thank you for your reaction! Speaking of which, Led Zeppelin has two great songs for you to add to your list - "Ramble On" and "Thank You"! You may thank me later!! Take care,
Plant greatest Rock frontman to ever do it Jimmy Paige lead guitarist and probably only 2 all time to Hendrix John Bonzo Bonham the greatest rock drummer to ever do it who sadly passed way way too soon at 32 and John Paul jones in top 5 bass guitarist/percussion to ever do it ! With Michelin star ingredients like that only greatness can follow ! They changed Rock forever x
Hi there MrsPenPal. YES this is a Naughty or Sexy Song, whichever you like best. But ALL of Led Zeppelin's songs are this way. So if ever you're on the horny side of things, this is the band to listen to. I was really surprised that they were able to get away with some of this shit, back in the 1960's, but I really think that the business side of things didn't know what a lot of these lyrics meant at the time. Anyway, please have a Happy and Hopeful New Years 2022-2023. Keep Smiling... Cheers...
Led is greatest rock and roll band ever. better than beatles, stones, elvis. Drummer Bonham greatest drummer is dead. Jimmy page child guitar protégé. Robert Page has expanded into other musical arenas. But this music did come on AM radio. Whole lotta love. My dad made me turn off the radio in our car late 60.s Little did he know what kind of bullshit rap music was to come later. He passed but I bet he would rather listen to led zeppelin the the crap out there now
