Manowar have set the genre of epic power metal. Their vocalist Eric Adams is one of the best singers in the world! The songs too choose are many...many...many! First of all the hymn Battle Hymn! Other hymns Blood of my Enemies, Thor, Kings of Metal, Hail and Kill, Defender, Revelations, The Crown and the Ring, Hector's last hour, Heart of Steel, The Power of Thy Sword, Wheels of Fire,..... and I shouldn't continue cause I'll run out of space!

One of my all-time favorite bands. IMO, Eric Adams has one of the if not the best voices in metal. His range and how he expresses a song is absolutely amazing. Gates Of Valhalla- Hell on stage live is a must listen. Adams pulls off one of the longest high notes I have ever heard. He also shows off his diversity by singing an opera song, Neussun Dorma.

Thanks, Heath. Eric Adams, your countryman is a top 5 metal singer of all time, Bruce, Rob and Floor included. Check out his Nessun Dorma sometime. Thanks for this. Sugestions for Manowar: Heart of Steel, Metal Warriors, Battle Hymn, Courage, The Crown and the Ring, Army of Immortals (homage to the fans) and Mountains. This band is just 5 years newer than Maiden, formed even before Bruce arrived.

Manowar was one of the most famous Metal Band in Europe and totaly underrated in the USA. I saw them five times live between the late 80ies and early 90ies here in Germany. Being 51 ..Born en lived in the netherlands...starting to love hardrock /metal at the age of 9 ..going to concerts at age 14. Can you imagin how I sometimes pitty the younger people not have seeing all of the Great bands in the genre starting, evolving And sometimes quitting like Deep purple, black sabbat, Rainbow, whitesnake, ac\dc metallica, manowar, antrax, Slayer, thin lizzy, Thunder, van halen, yngwy malmsteen , Alcatraz, iron Maiden Motörhead etc etc.... I am blessed haring seeingthem all live several times lthroughout Europe...And Still rocking on with the newer generation of bands...rock on mr. Rock And roll...new And old bands will save our day..:)

The band is named after the greatest racehorse ever. Mano’war was what they called in the business a freak. And they mean that in a good way. He was beaten just 1 time in a 2 year, 21 race career. He was undefeated as a 3 year old. And when everyone stopped trying to race against him he took on track records. He set 3 track records, 2 national records and 3 world records. A total of 7!

That was my reaction to them back in the late 80’s 👍 My first songs I’ve heard was on the ‘Battle Hymns’ cassette and I was hooked ever since... Been an avid fan and I have every album and video that Man O War has put out in my album, cassette, VHS, cd and DVD collection... They have a great diversity as well and luv to see your reaction to ‘Defender’ which I dedicate to my son that was taken away from me in my teens back in 85... You will understand when ya hear it...
