@@HeavyMetalForLife The majority of lifelong Metallica fans will tell you it's the 5th best, and it is. That's why you consistently hear people talk about "their first 4 albums". I've sailed 10 000 miles around the South Pacific and South East Asia. I've been on the streets for months before. I came back to nothing and now live in a tent in the woods. Can't seem to reintegrate into society. Nothing seems to make sense to me anymore. This song is like a story about my life. Nine years without a home to call my own. I'm outside of if it all now.

Okay, fun facts All lyrics are James. No one else but him. Also this Riff is all Papa Het. He writes around 90% of the riffs. Also, he and Lars put it all together every song, until just recently he's had everyone involved and he said he was ready to let go of all of the control of everything every song and tired of just him and Lars doing it, and wanted all of them to put their ideas, riffs, leads etc into the album. But still 90% of the riffs and still to this day 100% of the lyrics are all James. I've been a fan since 81' the birth of Thrash metal and Metallica was born. They are my favorite band they've evolved just like me. And yeah there's alot of old fans that'll say only the 1st four albums or whatever...me, No I love all their music, James could sing the phone book and I'd buy it & put it on my Playlist!! These boys not only are talented af, but are legendary!! They are so tight 42 yrs together. They got it down!!! They are AMAZING LIVE!! If I lived closer we'd take you to a Metallica concert!! I'd love to see your face full of joy & pure Ahhhhh... thanks for my Metallica Monday💥♥️🤘🤘🔥🎸🤗

Hetfield is the passion in the band...... (Cough) Lars does too (Cough)....... Somehow (cough)...... Papa Het comes up with the rhythm riffs..... The base (not the bass) of the song. Kirk really comes up with the most awesome melodies that go along with those riffs. 'One' might be one of the best examples. The melodies in the leads are memorable and complement Het's hitting lyrics and rhythm guitar to perfection.

The black album was the first thing I ever heard from Metallica. I grew up in a Baptist Church where everything was the devil. My parents warned us not to watch MTV because it was the devil. With movies, they used to say people were paying to see the devil. So I grew up thinking anything that gave me those types of feelings you're having when you make the scrunchy face was Satan trying to get into my heart. In 1991, we knew our family was going to be moving away from the place where I was born, and my sister got this wild idea to paint her room with murals on every wall. We ended up with a constant rotation of friends coming through to help us, or just hang out while we worked on this epic project. One day one guy said have you heard the new Metallica?" And he put the tape in. That moment changed everything. My sister went out and bought it (she was a bit older than me) and we listened to it basically on repeat for well over a month. I started learning guitar right away. My dad was a musician in his youth and had instruments in the house. I haven't stopped learning guitar since then. And after the black album, I bought their earlier albums and understood more about the journey the band had been on. And I loved it all. Metallica wasn't just a band for me. It was a way of life.
