Its pronounced Jizzah. Rza is Rizza. Salute to you for learning. I respect all the young dudes that go back and listen. Y'all give new life to the golden era of Hip Hop.
Look back on hip hop young man. GZA (aka Genius).... Liquid Swords might be one of the best albums (genres aside)..... One of the best COMPLETE ALBUMS ever made! Peep that! Keep doing what you're doing dude
Love to see young fellas learning hip hop from the golden era. Someone mentioned it but just keep in mind GZA and RZA are not initials, they're pronounced as Jizzah and Rizzah. Keep it up tho.
Wu-Tang has been on the world stage since 1992. GZA is a shortened version of Genius zig Zag Allah. RZA (Ruler Zig Zag Zig Allah), GZA, and ODB are members of the Five Percent Nation. This was the first single released off of Method Man's first solo album. I loved Wu-Tang's first album, but, one of everybody's tracks on "36 Chambers" was M.E.T.H.O.D. Man--because it was sooo much fun. I was super psyched when I found out he was going to drop a solo album (he's my favorite of that stellar group). When this track dropped, I played it on repeat for I don't know how long. He definitely distinguished himself from the rest of the group. All the imagery in the song, and the dynamic content of the lyrics--it just never gets old. There's an infographic based on a NY data scientist analyzing the 35,000 lyrics of 85 hip hop rappers and compares their vocabularies to Shakespeare: *"Does Wu-Tang Clan really have a bigger vocabulary than SHAKESPEARE? Infographic ranks rappers by their use of English language"* I want to address when he said, "...all I need is Chemical Bank to pay the mo'" I don't know why New Yorkers called prostitutes "mo'", but, it's an old school term. I was watching Diana Ross in the movie "Mahogany" and heard a character use that word when he thought that was what her character was--after he sexually harassed her.
mef actually is like the LEAST lyrical out of the clan.. Him and Old Dirty.. and even THEY were intricate with the lyrics.. but ppl like GZA and INSPECTAH DECK are on a whole nother level
Coincedentally mef an Old Dirty were the two must POPULAR rappers. cuz MOST ppl dont like that heavy lyrical stuff. it goes over their heads lol.. not me.. Deck is my favorite then GZA
Im listening to your statement in the pause and what you see in the Wu Tang is Mid ninety's prominent artist like, NAS, REDMAN, Early JAY Z, DMX first album. As will as KRS & RAKIM. It was Rhymes not rap. Meaning rap is anything and anything goes. But Rhyming is thought provoking and skillful. The MCs of that time put life into there words and painted pictures.
@IamKing4L Your Welcome honestly speaking your highly intelligent young man 💯💯 I truly appreciate how your reacting to real Hip Hop and being able to dissect the difference between then and now 🙏🏿 You really wanna challenge your intelligence? listen to I Gave You Power By Nas one of the most historic rap songs ever made💯💯💯
@@IamKingReacts it's Cash Rules Everything Around Me C.R.E.AM...cream intern is the slang for money 💵. ...respect to you for listening to the lyrics..as Nas said " most intellectuals will only half listen" so it's dope the younger generation is into our jams.
Ah what a refreshing reminder of one of the first songs. That drew me to hip hop and that I learned word for word. And I think that is one of the songs that made me wanna rap. Back in the time where rap actually showed skill. And made you want to think instead of made brain rot occur like music now. Pretty much music and society when from going forward to everything going completely backwards while being called progress sad.
"With my hands on the 4-9-3-11 with the rugged rhymes galore" 4th letter, 9th letter, 3rd letter, 11th letter. He used those numbers in Mr Sandman too. "Peace to the number 7 (G), everybody else get the 4-9-3-11" These cats are verbal scientists.
We had record shops. Everytime something hot dropped they had a little display somewhere with the tapes and cd's. And they would be playin it in the store. The 90's were actually awesome.
1st time I heard this I was riding in a car with three school mates, the intro hit and all 3 of them started cranking up. I'm thinking wtf bout to come on? By the time the beat dropped these nih was wide open just bopping, nigga driving bout to wreck and shit.. lol. This and No limit soldiers bout the only raps I can remember when I 2st heard it.
😊Love this song, I saw him and Redman live a few years ago here in Berlin. ❤90s--00s hip hop One of my all time favourite: A Tribe Called Quest with the song "Electric Relaxation"
What is reactors' aversion to just taking 2 seconds to google the artist or group you're reacting to. Nothing wrong with some context. I like that he said wu tang doesn't have any debauchery in their music lol. Wait til he hears the skit in method man.
I saw Redman and Method Man in November 2022, it was SO damn good! They played this too! I have yet to hear a Tical bar I didn't think was absolute perfection, he is one of the GOATs, without question.
