ONE OK ROCK is that band that became popular through their talent and hard work their own way. They're not the kind of band that appears on national TV in Japan (they don't do that because according to them, it's not their style). They don't promote their albums on national TV. They only provide movie OSTs for their closest friends (like Samurai X - the guy who played Kenshin is his best friend). They haven't appeared on THE FIRST TAKE because TFT is owned by Sony and ONE OK ROCK's music label is not Sony.

Taka really just carries the song no matter what it is whether it is happy or sad you can feel the emotions within the lyrics. He is so talented as well I respect the other members in the band because without them we wouldn't have great songs like this!

It's not exactly an anime ending, but One OK Rock did the ending theme for the Rurouni Kenshin live action movie. It's how I discovered them over a decade ago.

This is a beautiful version but one thing I think you don't hear as much here as you do in their album version is that really sounds like it could be a Queen song to me. Like I could totally picture Freddie Mercury singing it. Can't explain it, that's just the feeling whenever it comes on my playlist.

I was wondering if u can try sth new and make a reaction to their documentary "flip a coin", during the pandemic when they couldn't make live performances, they made a livestream in a huge stadium without audience with only cameras, and this documentary show us the process of it, and u can get to know more about them. I just believe that u have to see it and see how passionate they are, and how incredible they are to their fans🥺

Acoustic Taka is the best Taka. I just LOVE listening to these because the emotion feels so damn raw & it allows the lyrics to truly speak on their own. I can't wait until the next US tour so I can see them again because out of all the shows I've been to OOR was truly one of the greatest.

I didn't go through all the comments so perhaps it's already been mentioned, but the reason why OOR doesn't do anime music is because they don't want to ride the wave of "cool Japan" in order to become known. They don't want to become known as "the artist that did the song in that one anime." They want to prove themselves with their talents alone rather than using anime as a vehicle to get them to their destination faster. That said though, they've done several songs for live-action adaptation movies based on manga and anime, such as Rurouni Kenshin and Kingdom. Re: The First Take, most, if not all, the artists featured on there are Sony Music artists. Btw I hope you got tickets to OOR's headlining show in London!

Please listen to CHANGE [Official Video from "EYE OF THE STORM" JAPAN TOUR] and see the smiles on everyone's faces. When it was released, fans criticized it as 'pop rock'. (So it might not get many views.) ONE OK ROCK has struggled as a rock star and evolved through many challenges, such as trying pop music and collaborating with singers from all over the world. That struggles have given them diversity and flexibility. For me, it doesn't matter if they are hard rock or not. They are on another level.

This song is so amazing! I think one thing so impressive about this song (and their whole most recent album) is that it stands up to their most well known ballads that have been out for a long time. Usually I feel like it's hard for bands to make songs that can match up to older fan favorites (not even because the new stuff isn't good, but because they have to overcome people's nostalgia as well), but this one I think is an instant classic. 😊 Regarding anime theme songs, I don't know for sure but I think when they were starting out they didn't do anime theme songs because they wanted to avoid become a band only known for their anime songs, and now it's not a matter of if they are big enough for it, but more that they are too big to need it!

been missing your reaction of One OK Rock lately. and the room seem brighter. Have a nice sunny day in UK 🌞 If I'm not mistaken they maybe haven't done anime OST, but they did all the OST of a Live Action Movie of Rurouni X Kenshin (there's 5 movies;) that is adaptation from famous manga & anime. The songs are; The Beggining, Mighty Long Fall, Heartache, Renegades, and Broken Hearth of Gold (in order from the 1st movie). And also they did the OST of Live Action movie named Kingdom (the song is Wasted Nights), also from famous manga. I bet you've all the live stage reaction of those songs but you should check out the movies...It's AWSOOOOMMEEEE

I really like Taka's voice. This band is great. I agree with you on that He transmits so much feelings with his voice, no matters the language you can understand the message, just like singers like LiSA or Yuuri. I haven't really seen it be mentioned so I'll say it. This song YTAM was written for the fans (Taka said so in a concert) and when you listen to it with that mentality it just hits harder (⁠๑⁠♡⁠⌓⁠♡⁠๑⁠) I recomend the live version of Listen rhat they did during their Ambitions 2017 concert or Nobody's Home from the Zankyo Reference live (2012, with subtitles) and from MFS, I recommend Black Rail

I saw oor live twice during their recent japan dome tour and each time taka performed this song in particular he made sure to mention beforehand that this song is dedicated to us fans and made us promise to continue living on no matter what 🥹 he put in so much emotion for that performance to make sure their message reached the hearts of everyone in the audience... and he succeeded for sure 💗

The main reason why one ok rock is not often on the anime world because they aimed for foreign market first before they got big domestically in Japan. They did the OST for all Rurouni Kenshin live action movies for most of their famous songs like beginning, heartache, renegades, those too thanks to the lead actor Sato Takeru is their close friend and came from the same agency. I recommend take’s duet with Arnel Pineda “Open Arms”it’s like the first take, also recorded during the pandemic

I love this song, but at the same time for me it's the most painful song to hear. I have a rare genetic mutation with only 6 recorded cases and controls every decision in my life. Being 38 and never experiencing someone willing to help like one the song is unlike anything and I hope no one experiences the pain. Singing without an accent in English if Japanese is your native tongue is extremely hard. They don't have our letter L, theirs is RL, which few Americans can say. Then every character in Japanese either ends with an a, e, i, o, u. So if a word ends with a c, they naturally say ca. It's taken Taka awhile to get rid of his accent, but even then you'll hear it occasionally. Let's all keep requesting more ONE OK ROCK, But some older songs like Jibun ROCK, nobody's home, change, let's take it someday, juvenile and many more.

TAKA said on his Instagram Live that speaking in English is still difficult. His hard work in learning English is a great source of hope for us Japanese people. If i remember correctly, Taka once said in an interview that it's not their passion to do anime soundtrack, because they want to be known as a band who do their own music, not related to the popularity of the anime. But yeah they did some movie, TV ads, and game soundtracks

I’d like to recommend either “Keep it Real” or “Karasu” Keep It Real is one of their older songs that they performed when they used to have 5 members in the band. Karasu is another old song that they had produced for a Japanese movie called “Crows Zero” 2 of my favorite OOR songs to this day!!

Not sure if theyd done anything anime but they have done multiple OSTs for anime live action movies of Rurouni Kenshin which are incredible honestly its also how I got to know OOR back in 2012 when first movie came out (which btw highly recommend to listen to as well as check out the movies for anyone who hasnt seen them. Best anime live action movies in existence :> )

Talking about anime songs, ONE OK ROCK prefers fans who come to their live. That’s why they don’t perform anime songs, which will increase “fans” ONE OK ROCK don’t prefer much. Same reason they don’t come up to TV shows in Japan. In terms of the First Take, the channel is actually held by SONY MUSIC, which ONE OK ROCK doesn’t belong to.

This was the last song they preformed for their concert and they asked everyone to turn their phone lights on as they preformed. It was a magical experience, & I also heard (around January) that they were to preform Demon Slayer Season 3's theme song. I could be wrong.
