IMO Hetfield IS THE BEST ALL AROUND AND MOST IREPLACABLE FRONTMAN IN ROCK N ROLL MUSIC RIGHT NOW PERIOD. Yes, James is a riff machine, NO DOUBT. HOWEVER, when it comes to strictly writing and performing riffs and leads, DIAMOND DARRELL WAS THE BEST MONEY COULD ATTEMPT TO BUY!
@@brianbelden2449 Phil and Freddie. Both better. And riffs... Dime was second. The riff king is, and always will be Tony Iommi. And this is come from the biggest Pantera fan.
It is truly a joy to watch Asia & B.J. discover and genuinely enjoy "real" metal, in all it's heaviest glory. From a 51 year old metal head to Asia and B.J.: welcome to the headbanging family.
The energy at a Pantera concert in the early 90s is something that can't be described. They held the metal banner when grunge was everything. RIP Dimebag and Vinny it's a testament to your greatness that 30yrs later your brilliance is still felt
I just read this and it’s absolutely dead on. I’ll add one thing though. Pantera saw their fans as extended family and treated everyone they met and every show as such. True showmen who weren’t wrapped up with fame and accolades. They were 💯 raw emotion on stage and the fans reaction directly effected the show.
I'm 36... my coworker is 24 and i just learned he's into metal. I sent him this video, gave him the backstory, and asked him to find me something more metal. He came to work the next week admitting defeat, and is going deep into the Pantera lore. I'm proud.
Some of what the kids are doing these days are getting close, but in it’s true rawest form, nothing hits harder than the Domination breakdown. It’s the gold standard of breakdowns.
They had soldiers leaning out and hitting people with batons. It was not monitoring or airflow related. The Russian Army had no idea how to do security for a concert so they just beat (and killed) people who were acting up.
Everytime I see this vid it gives me goosebumps, but this time I'm near in tears, so sad that we'll never hear another song or riff from dime and vin R.I.P. BROTHERS
Vocals- Phil Anselmo Guitar- Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott Bass- Rex Brown Drums- Vinnie Paul Abbott Most underrated band ever. Thanks for giving them a chance! RIP Dimebag!
RIP Dime and Vinnie!!! goes to show new people are falling in love with you music even today when some of us have been fans for 20 years plus. That is what I call a Legacy! Thanks for reacting to them!
That had to be a hell of a show. I saw Pantera in ‘96 with White Zombie, again in ,97 at Ozzfest, and again in ‘99 with Coal Chamber. That Ozzfest in ‘97 was the single greatest concert I’ve ever been to. Had Pantera, Marilyn Manson, PM5K, Fear Factory, Ozzy, and the Black Sabbath reunion.
@@blackholerainbow3029 Heck yeah! I got to se Prong about 4 years ago in a small rock club in Jacksonville. 35 people made it possible to be right next to the stage! Art Cruz was the drummer then too
^^This! There is only 1 big rule you need to obey at a metal show. If you get in the pit, and someone falls - PICK EM UP! Beyond that, it's like Roli said. We're a big welcoming family all there to have a positive release of energy and celebrate the music with friends we haven't made yet.
And the lord said, let there be a break down, and it was good. Dimebag Derrell on guitar. You guys just witnessed The Heavy metal guitar GOAT. No one can touch this man in that genre.
I've been a musician and consumer of music my whole life and I wish I could just kick it with yall and show you all the music I know you'll love that you've never heard of. The obscure stuff you don't really ever just stumble on. So I'll keep doing the next best thing: requesting a reaction to it! Much love family, as always.
This performance is like Jordan game 6 of the '98 finals. They knew how loud and badass they needed to be put on a legendary performance before Metallica, the biggest band on the planet, took the stage. Pantera killed it.
Every review of this song in Moscow I’ve ever seen everyone headbangs during the breakdown . It doesnt matter what race, how old, or what background they come from - this video let’s everyone know what it feels like to be a head banger.
I'm so glad you guys like this song. It's my favorite version of it. Pantera was the least well known band on the bill for this festival and they blew everyone else off the stage.
Never did I ever think I would ever be in a mosh pit until I went to see Pantera. My girlfriends and I were 20 yrs old drinking with these guys before and after the shows. There was nothing like it and I would do it again if I could almost 30 years later!!!
Mettalica was my favorite until the day my friend introduced me to Pantera , from that day forward I have never heard such aggression that was also pleasing to the ears.
Pantera was the personification of power. Chairs flying through the air during their first song at their 1999 concert in Mexico city . They opened the show precisely with "domination".
I’ve been to a lot of live shows but seeing Pantera live in the early 90s was crazy dangerous! There were no kids in the crowd back then. These were grown men ready to fuck you up if u were in the wrong place at the wrong time.. I loved every minute of it and still some of the best shows I’ve ever seen! The energy was on another level!!!!
Saw them on all 5 album cycles & it was just as crazy on the Steel tour as the Cowboys tour. And I heard their shows at Joe's Basement in Ft. Worth, TX were even more crazy
saw Pantera and Soulfly. that i remmeber almost dying from. Hell yes. that show was nuts. and total agreement on the pits at least as of 2 years ago. were all having fun here. But if you go in being a spiral fist dumbass then well, your gonna get served. Be cool everyone will respect you. Show your ass get knocked out sir. straight up. the energy you speak of sir....i cannot get that back. twas when metal was on fire and dammit was it not. i miss that like any other human! then someone dropped covid killed all concerts...that hurt the most. ahhhhh we all gotta get thru it in our own way. 41 years old
@@DeathColdBeer the biggest nastiest circle pit I ever saw was at a Soulfly/Hatebreed show, it was ridiculous!!! That pit had its own gravitational pull!! Lol
great reaction video!! How impressive it is to see over a million people enjoying the musical talents of Pantera! those musicians really know how to shred their instruments (and Vocals too!)...to be at that Monsters of Rock concert, I can only imagine how loud it had to have been...we could use another Monsters of Rock concert in 2021!!
These dudes firing on all cylinders are on a level of there own! Dime is the baddest dude to ever hold a guitar period! 🤘 Actually got to meet Dime and Vin and they were some humble bad ass guys so honored to have had that experience 🤙
Dimebag (RIP) was one with his guitar. He danced with it and made love to it. Dang he was amazing. his guitar tone was IS legendary greatful to have seen them live on every tour 🤘
Great reaction you guys. Pantera was a fantastic band. Dimebag Darrell was a metal god playing guitar. The unbelievably sad and tragic thing was he was murdered on stage in 2004 by a deranged "fan" Pantera had broken up years earlier, and he and his brother Vinnie Paul (drummer) started a new band together named Damage Plan. They were promoting their new album and were playing in a small club in Ohio when the tragedy happened. The psycho got up on stage and murdered Dimebag and others because he was allegedly upset that Pantera broke up. Vinnie Paul saw the whole thing happen, can you imagine seeing your own brother killed in front of your eyes? just awful and heartbreaking. Vinnie Paul has since passed away, he died in 2018. Pantera's music will live on forever, and so will the Abbott brothers R.I.P. from Dallas Texas. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶
Some of the towers that are in the crowd are speaker towers. The video is from a giant festival type concert, in Russia. It is the same concert you referenced. 1.6 MILLION people at that show!!
Thanks guys! Was surfing through the tube and clicked on this. Great job! I'll be 50 on Monday and Pantera is in my top 3 bands of all time. New subscriber here.
Coming from a hardcore Pantera fan i want to say im glad i came across this. This is actually one of my favorite songs ever for many reasons. When u notice the crowd out there with their energy u have to understand how much it means to them. In Russia at that time was pretty bad and for Pantera to come out there and put that concert on was a very huge thing for them. The band knew it too, both them and the crowd fed off eachother which makes the magic. Respect to u both yall did a great job. Cheers. R.I.P. Dimebag R.I.P. Vinnie
There are two more great live performances i wanna suggest: - Gojira - The Gift Of Guilt live at Brixton - Lamb Of God - Blacken The Cursed Sun live at Download 2007
My God is this a great performance! Your reaction is spot on. Asia, you are one beautiful woman which makes the reaction even more fun to watch. Keep up the great work guys. Look forward to watching more of your reactions.
This is one of the best reactions I've seen to this one, guys! Y'all both got your inner Metalheads coming out, for real. You can tell that you felt the energy. That's where it starts. 😁🤘 Being at a live show is something else. Y'all gotta have that experience. I saw my first metal show when I was 18, it was Fear Factory and Trivium. I'll never forget it. Heavy stuff. It was an unusually small venue for the band(s), so the energy packed in there was nuts. I was standing right in front of the stage/monitors with no earplugs on the edge of a mosh pit, and it was amazing. lol The energy at a metal show is raw, but it's really communal. It's almost like the music unites everybody into a controlled frenzy. So yea, no one's trying to hurt anybody in a mosh, but it can happen if someone gets a little too excited (or drunk). lol Outside the mosh, you should be safe. :p
Seen Pantera twice in 1 week. Kansas City Kansas and Cedar Rapids a few days later. White Zombie opened for them. Best time of my life in the early 90’s.
over 1 miillion peoples at this show... Ii miss my legends sooooo f ing much. please look at "I'm broken" this is their most lit vids... soo much energy!!!
You guys = , love ya, that was realy a cool reaction, thank you so SO much for not sitting there and just thinking its a load of screaming, highly appreciate you two, thank you.
Asia, in all reactions I've seen to this song, you're the first to notice the hammer-ons, while Dimebag lifts his guitar shortly before the first solo. 👍
Asia and BJ, I can personally tell you that the mosh pit at a Pantera concert was crazy fun. I seen them 5 times back in the 90’s and you’re right, they were considered one of the best live bands. Thanks and I enjoy your channel
It this point (before the solo even), you pair are getting it. The power, the magic of Pantera. Im enjoying your reaction so much atm. I know youll do many more. Keep em coming you metal cats.
Ima musician and I love watching reactions from people who dont normally listen to a certain genre. Hiphop heads listening to metal. Or metalheads listening to hiphop. And one thing that always happens for the most part is a genuine appreciation for the other cultures music. Ive always said. Music and food is what brings people together. Definitely gonna sub to y'all.
I loved how you didnt stop the video from the solo onto the great part every wants to get to :D Shows how genius that part is... greetings from germany nice video
Ive been to every kind of concert. Blues, Rand B, country, hip hop . . . But there aint anything in this world like a metal concert. Metal concerts you go to go completely crazy. Forget who you are and just pure release for that 2 hours or so. Best therapy on the planet.
They have to remember that regardless of how loud they have to be..the crowd knows the songs and sings along... creating a wave of sound thru out the venue...
I love reaction videos to Pantera's Domination ... I lmao when she said " I'll stand in the back where it's safe" when he said "I can see why they call it domination" I felt that shit 🤘great video y'all
Well theres 1.6million people in the crowd. This is after the Berlin wall cane down and this was the first taste of American metal that most of them have seen
The drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag are brothers. In December 2004 a crazy fan jumped onstage and shot and killed the guitarist Dimebag. 2018 his brother Vinnie passed away of heart disease. Totally tragic.
