As to your drummer burning calories question, here's what Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee said: "I was curious because after a show, y’know, I’m whupped man, and I’m like, 'I’m curious. I’m going to get one of those pedometers that joggers put on their shoes,'” Lee tells Vevo. "The things that tell you how far you go? I was curious, like 'Man, I know I’ve got to be getting some miles in - no question.' I put it on and after the show I took it off and I looked down and it said 13.1 miles. I was like 'What? That’s insane, dude!'"

Dave Mustaine (vocals/ guitar) was truly an incredible talent, single-handedly guiding Megadeth to platinum success... This was Megadeth's iconic 4th album 'Rust in Peace' in 1990... the band line-up was: Mustaine, David Ellefson (bass), Marty Friedman (guitar) and (the late) Nick Menza (drums)... which was the most famous Megadeth line-up from 1990 to 1998. As most metal fans know... Dave Mustaine was a co-founder and lead guitarist of Metallica back in 1982 after James Hetfield (vocals/ guitar) and Lars Ulrich (drums) started as a project in 1981... They became a band in 1982 w/ Mustaine and bassist Ron McGovney... playing gigs in L.A. ... Cliff Burton (bass) joined in early 1983 after Metallica migrated to San Francisco... James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine wrote most of the songs for what would be Metallica's debut album "Kill 'em all" in 1983. Unfortunately, Dave Mustaine was also a drug addict and violent alcoholic in his 20's at the time... even James Hetfield was intimidated by him. Metallica would take a trip to NYC to sign w/ managers Johnny and Marsha Zazula and record their debut album in '83 for their Megaforce Record label ... but Mustaine's violent behavior was escalating... so, the decision to fire him was made before reaching New York. The day Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) was due to arrive in NYC to audition for Metallica... Dave Mustaine was fired and given a bus ticket back to L.A. ... He vowed revenge on Metallica and formed Megadeth that year and began playing gigs in 1984. Megadeth was a brilliant band musically... much more proficient than Metallica w/ 2 lead guitarists and a choice of 1st-rate musicians to pick from... Dave Mustaine's voice was an intense mix of shock rocker Alice Cooper and punk rock singer Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. However, in the early days, they were a toxic mix of drugs, alcohol and violent infighting... After 2 albums, drummer Gar Samuelson and guitarist Chris Poland were fired in 1987... their replacements who recorded Megadeth's 3rd album were fired by 1989. 'Rust in Peace' was an album made w/ some measure of sobriety... both Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson had been in rehab and made some of the best music on that record, which became Megadeth's first platinum album (1 million copies sold) in the US. Many Megadeth fans pick 'Rust in Peace' as their best record... the same way Metallica fans picked 'Master of Puppets' as their fave Metallica album. However, both Mustaine and Ellefson revealed years later that they were broke from abusing drugs in the 80's and had to start from scratch all over again, despite selling millions of records. And like Metallica... Megadeth experimented w/ non-metal influences in the 90's and it didn't work for Megadeth the way it did for Metallica, especially after the massive success of their 1991 self-titled 'black' album... Megadeth scored a 2x platinum album 'Countdown to Extinction' in 1992 but they could never match the success of Metallica. Still, Megadeth did extremely well for themselves...

Jason played with David Lee Roth’s solo band and played on his album, A little ain’t enough, Jason later found out he had ALS, he is still alive and composes music. This is the second best Heavy Metal song of all time. Only behind Master of Puppets. This is one of the best Metal albums of all time. Might be the best guitar album in metal history. This album has a thousand guitar solos and riffs. The Frontman Dave Mustaine wrote many of the riffs on Metallica's first 2 albums but was kicked out just before recording the first album. Megadeth are like Metallica but more grunge. Tornado of Souls, Hanger 18, Peace Sells, In My Darkest Hour, Symphony of Destruction and Sweating Bullets are great too. Saw Megadeth live last year. Still good after 40 years. Biggest debate in metal is Megadeth Vs Metallica. Musically it is Megadeth but Metallica are so iconic. I prefer Metallica but mostly due to their 80s stuff and the vocals. Dave's vocals are an aquired taste but you get used to it.

MEGADETH was one of the four of the Big 4 of American Thrash Metal. And that nomenclature stemmed from their album sells, not off date of debut. However, MEGADETH was a bit more on the side of Speed Metal than just straight up Thrash Metal. This song was off their 1990 album "Rust in Piece" and is considered one of the best Metal albums of all time. Every song on it is a banger. There's one slower song called "Dawn Patrol" which is mostly a bass solo, but still pretty cool. But everything else is banging. The members of the band at this time were: Dave Mustaine - Guitar/Lead Vocal Dave Ellefson - Bass Marty Friedman - Guitar Nick Menza - Drums Nick passed away a few years ago. He was a great drummer. Dave Mustaine IS Megadeth. He's the founding member after he got kicked out of Metallica back in 1983 before Metallica recorded their debut album "Kill 'em All." He formed Megadeth in like 1984 and released their debut in 1985. Unfortunately they've gone thru a ton of member changes. Dave's a bit hard to work with as they say in the business. Most of their albums are pretty good with only a couple that were like, "WTF?" Aand those were 1999's "Risk" which was a softer, more radio-friendly Hard Rock type of sound that just didn't go over very well with the fans. The other was 2013's "Super Collider." Which is funny as it came well after their return to form. The first time I listened to it I thought it was OK, but upon a second listen, I could definitely see the reason for the criticism. It was just a bad record. Not as bad as Risk, but pretty close.

Legendary band, so many songs to check out, and probably more diversity than you're going to expect. Some of my favorites "Tornado of Souls", "Mary Jane", "My Last Words", "Architecture of Aggression", "Reckoning Day", "Never Walk Alone"

Anyone else notice how Amber just keeps getting more gorgeous? Jay, it's obvious you're treating your lady right! It's such a pleasure to watch you two interact with such love and mutual respect. Y'all are a great example to the rest of us, and such a beautiful reminder of how we all should be treating each other. Y'all keep doing what you do so well; that's why we're here!

The whole Rust in Peace album is a masterpiece in speed/thrash metal! It was an instant classic when it was released in 1990 and held up over time!

This made me so happy, especially watching Amber's reaction to Dave's last solo going into the last verse. It's everyone's first reaction and I never get tired of seeing it! Dave Mustaine is a notoriously difficult person to work with but there is no questioning that he is a musical genius. Please do "Wake Up Dead," "Lucretia," and "In My Darkest Hour." So many other amazing Megadeth tracks, too many to name.

megadeth - tornado of souls. The song is well-known for its distinctive guitar solo played by Marty Friedman, which is regarded as one of the greatest metal guitar solos of all time. It is also widely considered to be one of the hardest songs to play on guitar.

For me there never has been and never will be a better Megadeth line up than this one. I still remember when this album came out in my senior year of high school 90/91 and how amazed I was when I heard it the first time. All these years later and it is still just as great! This album is one great song after another and is one I put on and don't skip a single song. I just saw Megadeth again in August and they closed the show with this song. Dave can still shread!

YES! YES! YES! By the way, Dave Mustaine is the lead singer and he is also the first lead guitarist of Metallica. Seen them last year at Louder Than Life along with Limp Bizkit, Godsmack, and Tool all in one night. Mustaine is in his 60s and can still melt your face off!!!! Almost forgot but you guys should check out Symphony of Destruction next!

Heck, I'd like to hear your reaction to Dave's 'hockey song', "Crush 'Em"! And since you're doing 80's metal, check in to Anthrax!

Megadeth are one of the Big Four of Thrash Metal (the others are Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax). They have so many great songs that I can recommend: Tornado of Souls, Trust, Angry Again, Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, She-Wolf, A Secret Place, A tout le Monde, Dread and a Fugitive Mind, Train of Consequences, Washington is Next and so many more. And like someone else already said: Dave Mustaine was in Metallica, he was their first guitar player. He was kicked out due to creative differences and they had a long feud after that for years. One song in particular was part of the arguments, the Metallica-song "Four Horsemen" which Mustaine wrote in huge parts, Metallica later changed the lyrics and also parts of the song. Megadeth also released Mustaine's version under the name "Mechanix". It would actually be great to see you comparing these two songs head to head.
