I think there is no disconection between the lyrics and the music, because this is exactly how the drepession looks, you might be happy to the others eyes, but inside there´s another thing completely different.
I can see the disconnect if you watch the video. For me the music is more an approach of anger which can be caused by depression. But as said, nothing except the occasionally shown teens, in the video really is transporting the message very well. The music does it much better.
That's so interesting man! I grew up in the UK at that time and still here! We loved the music and lyrics...but it's fascinating that the hook got through to you in a another country! With the calibre of the music! The lyrics were always deep for us but to hear ur perspective is awesome brother!
