One of the best guitar solos ever

Pink Floyd believed that their recorded music and their live shows were designed to be complete and immersive experiences. In the live shows the music, the voices, the effects, the lights, the staging... all blend into an artful immersive journey for your soul and your mind. Notice how there are no big screens with close ups of the musicians or singers. They appear tiny against the overall lighting and staging. They are meant to be part of the experience, like each color in a painting, not the egotistical reason for that experience. They blend into the whole... on purpose. Great reaction!

Great you finally got to see a concert. But this was nearly 30 years into Floyd. If you want to see them as younger guys, definitely check out "Echoes live at Pompeii" where you can see the guys playing live in an empty Roman Amphitheater with no audience. This track is from the album Meddle just before the album Dark Side of the Moon. If you liked that solo, you have to see the line up with David Gilmour lead guitar, Roger Walters base, Richard Wright keyboard, Nick Mason drums.

Dude... Pink Floyd and Aerosmith do not belong in the same sentence. :) I saw PF at Yankee Stadium that year. To this day I haven't witnessed anything come even close to that concert.

When they filmed this , Pink Floyd had been around for nearly 30 years.

Pink Floyd, like a lot of bands from late 60’s and 70’s, into 80’s, it’s really about the level of talent these guys possess. The fact that this song is still being played today, and people love it, that’s profound. Artists whose careers span 30,40 years and can still bring it live- that’s badass rock n roll, facts. 🎼🎶🎸🔥😎🤘

Saw them in 1994 in Clemson, SC...best concert ever - lucky to have VIP seats 3 rows from front on the aisle! “Sorrow” from this concert is another great one & you get to see all of them rocking out. Highly recommended 🔥🎶🤘🏼 “Echoes” live from Pompeii 1972 is fire, too...2 parts so react to both please!

Gotta do, Echoes from the Live at Pompeii show, both parts 1 & 2 from 1971. This P.U.LS.E. DVD/CD (the concert is actually from their Division Bell Tour and PULSE refers to the Live album) has some excellent songs like "One Of These Days", "Run Like Hell", and "High Hopes" They also perform the full Dark Side Of The Moon album in this concert. Then there is the Live 8 show from 2005 which was their final show with the original 4 members. (Yeah, Yeah Syd Barrett, blah, blah) At the 2005 show Dave Gilmour uses the same black Stratocaster (the body anyway) that he used in Pompeii in 1971.

I was able to see this tour in Kansas City, Mo at Arrowhead stadium. Pink Floyd’s live shows are just 15 out of 10. Imo David Gilmore is the greatest guitarist ever.

I saw this tour in July 1994 at the Pontiac silverdome outside Detorit. I was so high when the pyrotechnics went off I could taste the colors.

I just cry every time I listen to this song. This guitar solo is historical! That was phenomenal and so emotional, that was just splendid and extremely powerful! But guess what? I was there that specific day, I was really young. After the concert, we were walking in silence, thinking about this phenomenal concert, looking at the stage sometimes just to remember this moment forever before we leave for good. I also remember the smell of joints, especially in front of the stage (yes, that was, of course, forbidden, but ... Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd, right? Some people couldn't resist!). Now, when I listen to this guitar solo, I always remember that the sound was everywhere around us: spectacular, massive, imposing, powerful, but also perfectly clean! It was so impressive and so imposing. Like: the massive, colossal, powerful, and majestic Pink Floyd machine directly connected to your soul! And I can tell you that we were all vibrating. 90% of the time, during a concert, people are talking, laughing, and having good times; but during this concert, everybody was literally speechless. No stupid or annoying people. Everybody was just "connected". It was like, being in a parallel universe where everything was completely different. That was phenomenal and special, almost "magic" so to speak. And so many people were there, something like 16,300 people. I kept the tickets by the way, hehe - And today, I'm still proud to say _"I WAS THERE, WITH PINK FLOYD THAT DAY!"_

Got to see them live in 94 on the Division Bell tour. Fantastic show. one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. that song in particular lives is indescribable. once you're able to get your jaw back off the floor from all the sounds and visuals, you just stand and appreciate how much and strongly they move your soul with their music.

I was at “Pulse” in Miami at the Orange Bowl. It was Florida hot and the heavens opened up during this song, the warm southern rain through laser lights made it more spectacular! Thank you for sharing!

i seen them 4 times.. first time in london "the wall". 1980. ( yes I am old ).. afer that i seen them 4 times here in the netherlands and every concert was great.... te best peformers ever

I saw them in concert in Cleveland, Ohio, it was their ‘94 Division Bell Tour’ it was bad ass! The images and videos they had behind them and special effects was insane! Super cool! People were passing weed around and I believe almost everyone was F’d up! Lol! Good times for sure!

This was the second to last song done at the P.U.L.S.E. concert. The last one they did was Run Like Hell. You HAVE to check out the pulse version of that. It will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!

I saw them in Pittsburgh back in the 80's. Back in those days I did a ton of acid. Their music would send me on trips that were out of this world! Of course, at the concert, I was completely obliterated but I know I had the time of my life. Nowadays, their music is extremely relaxing and calming to me. Haven't touched any kinds of drugs in decades but they still take me to a place of complete comfort.

Bruh you gotta check out "High Hopes". The solo is insaneee on that one. I've heard that song prolly a hundred times and it still gives me goosebumps. Some other floyd songs that you must listen to are Time, Shine on you crazy diamond, Have a cigar, Echoes. There are just too many man the list goes on and on..

If I remember from "94" that was the Pulse Tour later Pink Floyd put out the Pulse double cd Live with a red blinking light on the box set!!

I saw this tour in Raleigh. My ex was 4 months pregnant and we had 4th row seats. We had to move back because of the vibration from the speakers, best concert I have seen and my daughter who was born in Oct gets to say she was at a Pink Floyd concert.

Gilmour has more feeling in his index finger than any guitarist i have ever seen. He's not fast, not frantic, he just makes his instrument speak to people. Its scary.

I was on that tour, but not in London, not this concert, in Vienna, and there are no words to describe the experience! I came out of that concert a different person somehow, changed me forever! Comfortably Numb is one of my favorites, specially that 5 minute solo at the end! After, I spend 2 weeks pondering what a hell David Gilmour just did to that guitar! while you cant see Pink Floyd Live anymore there are 2 cover bands that occasionally tour the U.S. that are worthy of seeing live, Australian Pink Floyd & Brit Floyd.

The first time I even heard of PF was in 1972, when my friends, and I when to a Drive-In theater, (Westbury, NY) and saw their documentary concert; "Live at Pompeii."...That's how far back I can remember these guys..Believe it, or not, we hated it!..Guess we weren't ready for it, 'cause when I see it today I have a hard time believing we hated it!

At this time, Roger Waters, the bassist and vocalist had left the band. On the studio version, he sang the verse/part of the Doctor. Roger Waters wrote the lyrics to this song as it's about an experience he had before a concert.

Listen to the whole album in one sitting, headphones on and don't stop for anything. I do recommend watching the live Pink Floyd The Wall production by Roger Water in Berlin if you want to see how PF do a full on rock-opera show. They are older here and only three members of Pink Floyd are there. Dave Gilmore (Guitar), Nick Mason (percussion) and Robin Write (Keyboard (RIP)) Roger Waters (bass) had left the band by then.

Well, let me remind you that Pink Floyd started, way the hell back, in late 1964. This concert was in 1994 so literally 30 years before this concert took place. Believe me, when I say, that they were Hippies, long hair and all, in their time. You can't write shit like this unless you've experimented a bit, if you get my drift. I was fortunate enough to experience them in concert back in 1973, during the release of their album "Dark Side Of The Moon." Best concert I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of. I'm glad that you got the chance to be a part of this concert, as they will not be performing Live & in concert any time soon as they are in their 70's now. Sorry. Sad but True.
