On the album this track transitions directly into "The Great Gig in the Sky" guest vocalist Clare Torry Having reminded you to live while your alive TGGITS is possibly the deepest dive into the emotions surrounding the process of actually dieing that you will ever hear. In case your not sure, Pink Floyd a British band were formed 60's and became one of the greatest Psychodelic / Progressive Rock bands of all time. Founding band member Syd Barrett was dropped from the band towards the end of the 60's suffering severe mental health issues and the effects of drug abuse. (however he is frequently referenced in Pink Floyds music) Syd was replaced by Dave Gilmour (Lead Guitar / Vocals) and along with Roger Waters (Bass / Vocals / lyrics) Richard Wright (Keyboards / Vocals) Nick Mason (Drums) These four went on to make the album your listening to now "The Dark Side of the Moon" that charted for just over 17 years (yes YEARS) one of the highest selling albums ever. Definitely worth listening to the entire album, but heads up, tracks transition directly into each other and themes follow. So ideally best done as a side 1 & side 2. They followed this with the album "Wish You Were Here" all about Syd Barrett, his genius, and how he struggled with mental health and pressures from the music industry. As a teen growing up in the 70's, two bands were the "Yin and Yang" between them they brought balance to my little universe. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Both often called GOATS but like Yin and Yang they were polar opposites.

This is a "WAKE UP ".... life has already started! A track that gives your mind time to wander and soak in the atmospherics. So if you're used to 3mins of jammed packed rap lyrics over a 3min beat then brace yourself, to start you might feel lost or confused. Pink Floyd music starts at the beginning, the instruments have their own lyrics not just the human voices.

This is from the legendary Dark Side of the Moon album, one of the biggest selling albums of all time, over 13 years in the US album charts and regarded by many as a total masterpiece. It works really one track as all songs flow into each other through a series of brilliant transitions. It should thus be listened to in one go for the full 70's experience...so I'd lie down on something comfy in a dimly lit room with your best headphones and about 45 minutes to yourself ....burning incense optional :). You may find your life has changed afterwards and possibly may involve wearing items of clothing with prisms on them.

❤. I absolutely love this song, but watching you react, I was thinking about your progression on this journey. I almost didn't hang with it in those very first car videos, but then there's just something about you even with the lo-fi environment back then, that just kept me coming back. And then the car ones got better, and then suddenly you were doing some not in the car, and now you're starting to have a really cool looking studio setup. Dark Side of the Moon is a totally iconic album in rock music history. It's just really up there. I still see young people wearing t-shirts with that band's album cover image on it. If you haven't done their huge hit Money yet from this same album, you've got to hear it, it's so fun.

Great reaction! No band like Pink Floyd, they are on another level, they are legends! Formed in London in 1964, they are possibly the greatest Rock of all time, definitely in the top 5. They have sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide,... and counting. It's amazing, I saw this past week that David Gilmour, (lead singer and guitarist of Pink Floyd), is releasing a single and possibly an album later this year in October. He's almost 80 years old. One thing though, your audio on our side is not very good, very low quality, like AM radio.

'Eclipse/Dark Side of the Moon' marked PF's departure from their Syd Barrett ultra-psychedelic origins to their ultimate commercial success. It didn't diminish their musical impact, except as they complain in "Have a Cigar" having to put up with questions like "by the wav, which one is Pink?"

A very timely reaction 👶⏳👴! David Gilmore on lead vocals with Richard Wright on the bridge vocals. David Gilmore guitar solo. Time was released as as a B-side single to the A-side single: Us And Them, as the second single off of Pink Floyd's 1973 album: The Dark Side Of The Moon. It was written and produced by Pink Floyd. The song did not chart. A music video for the song was directed by Ian Emes. During live performances, Pink Floyd back-projected a specially-commissioned, animated film by Ian Emes. The film was subsequently included as an extra on the PULSE DVD. There are 2 versions, from 1973 (original Dark Side Of The Moon Tour) and 1994 (The Division Bell Tour). In 2023, Pink Floyd recorded a new version of the song: "Time". The song is about how time can slip by, but many people do not realize it until it is too late. Roger Waters got the idea when he realized he was no longer preparing for anything in life, but was right in the middle of it. He had just turned 28. When the band came up with the concept for the album, the idea was to explore the pressures of life throughout the songs. This song takes on the topic of mortality. The song starts with layers of clock noises that were put together by Pink Floyd's engineer, Alan Parsons. Each clock was recorded separately at an antiques store, and the band blended them together. Alan Parsons wanted to use the clocks to demonstrate a new quadraphonic sound system, but they ended up using it to open the song instead. "That was my idea to bring in these recordings of antique clocks, all recorded one at a time, on a portable tape machine, and then we transferred them all onto a multi-track tape, made them all tick and chime in sync", Alan Parsons told Uncut magazine. "Pink Floyd liked that". Pink Floyd performed the song live from 1972 to 1975, and after the 1985 departure of Roger Waters, from 1987 to 1994. Roger Waters began performing the song in his solo concerts, singing the verses himself, beginning with his tour: In The Flesh (1999 to 2002), and again with his tour: The Dark Side Of The Moon Live (2006 to 2008), occasionally featuring guest appearances from Nick Mason, and the Us + Them Tour (2017 to 2018). David Gilmour has performed the song live on every one of his solo tours since Pink Floyd's 1994 Pulse tour, with the late Richard Wright sharing vocals until his passing in 2008. Billboard and Louder Sound ranked the song number nine and number five, respectively, on their lists of the 50 greatest Pink Floyd songs. Song Credits 📝: David Gilmour - electric guitars, lead and backing vocals Richard Wright - Farfisa organ, Wurlitzer electronic piano, EMS VCS 3, co-lead vocals (bridges) Roger Waters - bass guitar, EMS VCS 3 Nick Mason - drums, rototoms Doris Troy - backing vocals Lesley Duncan - backing vocals Liza Strike - backing vocals Barry St. John - backing vocals Lyrics 🗒: Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can And when I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away, across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spell Pink Floyd Info 📰: Pink Floyd are a Rock band formed in London, England, in 1965. The founding band members were Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals), Nick Mason (drums), and Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals), who enrolled at the London Polytechnic at Regent Street in September 1962 to study architecture, and Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), two years younger than the rest of the band, who had moved to London in 1964 to study at the Camberwell College of Arts. The band earned recognition for their Psychedelic or Space Rock music, and, later, their Progressive Rock music. Their discography consists of 15 studio albums, six live albums, 12 compilation albums, five box sets, three EPs, and 27 singles. They have sold over 250 million records worldwide, including 75 million in the US. Pink Floyd achieved success in London's underground music scene, led by the singer and guitarist Syd Barrett. They signed a management deal with Peter Jenner and Andrew King (Blackhill Enterprises) in October 1966, and recorded a demo tape shortly afterwards to attract record label interest. In 1967, they signed with EMI Columbia and released their first single: "Arnold Layne", followed by the album: The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967). Syd Barrett left the band following mental health problems in 1968, and was replaced by the singer and guitarist David Gilmour. Both appear on Pink Floyd's second album: A Saucerful Of Secrets, the first of several Pink Floyd albums to feature cover artwork by Hipgnosis. In 1969, Pink Floyd released a soundtrack album: More, and a combined live and studio album: Ummagumma. Atom Heart Mother (1970) was a collaboration album with Ron Geesin, featuring an orchestra and choir. The albums: Meddle (1971), and the Obscured By Clouds (1972). Roger Waters became the primary lyricist and thematic leader, devising the concepts behind Pink Floyd's most successful albums: The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979). The musical film based on the group's 1979 album: The Wall: Pink Floyd - The Wall (1982), won two BAFTA Awards. Pink Floyd also composed several film scores. Pink Floyd's eighth album: The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), sold more than 30 million copies and is one of the best-selling albums of all time. The Dark Side Of The Moon was followed by the band's albums: Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979); all except Animals reached number one in the US, and The Wall is the highest-certified multiple-disc album by the Recording Industry Association of America. Following personal tensions, Richard Wright left Pink Floyd in 1981, followed by Roger Waters in 1985. Roger Waters declared Pink Floyd "a spent force", and unsuccessfully sued to dissolve their partnership and retire the band's name. David Gilmour and Nick Mason continued as Pink Floyd, rejoined later by Richard Wright. The remaining group members, led by David Gilmour, continued recording and touring as Pink Floyd, releasing the albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason (1987), The Division Bell (1994) and The Endless River (2014). In 2010, Pink Floyd sued EMI for unpaid royalties payments and for publishing their back catalogue on streaming services without their consent. A settlement was reached the following year, with the publication of the individual tracks on iTunes, and re-releases of the band's albums: The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975) and The Wall (1979). By 2013, Pink Floyd had sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In 2016, Pink Floyd established a record label: Pink Floyd Records, and launched an extensive reissue of their music on vinyl and CD, and a box set titled: The Early Years 1965-1972, containing a significant amount of previously unreleased material. In 2022, they released a one-off single: "Hey, Hey, Rise Up!", featuring the Ukrainian artist Andriy Khlyvnyuk, in protest of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In March 2023, Variety reported that Pink Floyd had been seeking to sell their back catalogue for some time, but that this had been hampered by infighting. A reported $500 million dollar deal was aborted due to band members not agreeing on all of the deal's particulars. In 2024, Pink Floyd, as Nick Mason and David Gilmour, tour with a backing band. Roger Waters and Richard Wright join selected performances with the band, as well as tour on their own accord. ****CONTINUE BELOW****

This album lines up perfectly with the wizard of oz. Just start it at the third lions roar in the beginning.

"I don't know what this song is about" It is about time...... or, to be direct, it is about that crushing of inching forward through life, and feeling like you aren't really getting anything done... one of the best lines... "you run and you run, to catch up to the sun, but its sinking; racing around to come up behind you again."

I remember hearing this album for the first time, I was 8 years old and was mesmerized by it, it's a masterpiece, I cannot count the amount of times I have listened to it, but I wore out my first copy, over the years and now at 59 the lyrics to Time have become more relevant

If you haven't already listen to Comfortably Numb. Listen to the studio version first and then the live Pulse version. You wont be disappointed.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine Staying home to watch the rain.. And you were young and life is long And there is time to kill today And then one day you find 10 years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter Never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught Or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation Is the English way The time is gone The time is over Thought I'd something more to say

Home home again I like to be here when I can When I come home come home and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells

I’ve watched a couple of your reaction videos and I think they are great. If I may, without being too negative suggest improving the sound quality. The song part was a little hard to hear, and there is some ambient noise filtering in. Again, I really enjoy your reactions and look forward to more. Thanks

Fairly sure you should react to the track "Money" next! Subbed so you can reach your goal. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you into the Floydian fold! The album Dark Side of the Moon has just passed 50 years old! You're hearing a lot of experience in the music, the band has been around since the late mid 60's! After you listen to "Money", give "Great Gig in the Sky" a listen, then after you've heard these 3 tracks, including "Time", go and listen to the whole entire album a listen in one take. It's probably 44-46 minutes long. Do it in one sitting. The reason why you want to listen to the entire album is because none of these tracks where ever intended to be heard alone. The album order is the correct order. Pink Floyd has several albums that are constructed this way as what are considered to be "concept albums".

I quote you: 'It's called "Time". I've no idea what it's all about' ????...and then you pause on the line 'And then you find'....to say you love the harmony, but don't listen to the crucial connecting words, 'ten years have got behind you'....and so missing the entire impact of the words. Yes, listening to the tune/melody is important, but don't talk over the more important lyrics

In 20 years the lyrics to this song will be so much more relevant to you. You're barely at the "10 years have got behind you" age. 🙂If you like guitar solos, listen to Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb from their Pulse concert. Also highly recommend The Great Gig in the Sky, studio version with Clare Tory please. I guarantee you've never heard anything like it. Next, to see the band in their younger years, Echoes, Live at Pompeii is nothing short of brilliant. Welcome to the journey down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. Enjoyed your reaction.
