Thank you for reacting to Röyksopp (“roik-sahp,” kinda). Their other songs with Susanne Sundfør are well worth a listen - especially “Save Me” and “In the End.” Then you have songs like I Had This Thing, Do It Again, What Else is There?, Monument (both versions), and tons of others. Their first album was released in 2001, so you were very close indeed. :)
This is written in the aftermath of the terror attack at Utøya - not as a story about the action, but poetic paraphrasing the pain and the fear. The youth was "running to the sea" to escape Breivik´s guns. There is a live version that is even better -Susanne is brilliant live About pronouncing -just put the K before the S :) Røyksopp is just the Norwegian name of puffball mushrooms, but the name can give richer associations in Norwegian.

Running to the sea is from their 2014 album The Inevitable End, the album is fantastic, and has two more beautiful(!) collaborations with Susanne Sundfør, very electronica though, but you really should try all their albums! They have now, sadly stopped making music..But they have released some old, "unknown songs".
Astral of a song. Some of Norway top musicians working together. As for the Video Mace, it reflect differently to people. Some think its about Utøya Massacre. Some think its fatal accident by drowning or by car.. Me i just think its about Disfunctional, astrayed relations. The regrets in life and loneyness.
"Ruhik-Sopp" (Let it flow,dont put too much weight on the H in Ruh,but that should come really really close to our "pronunciation". Or you could just call them "smoke mushroom",and nope its not a thing you inhale to get trippy,but the actual smoke mushroom in the "mushroom kingdom". If i told you that Röyksopp and Susanne Sundfør (female vocalist) got together and made this song together in just 2 days,after withnessing all theese kids and teenagers desperately running into the sea,starting to swim in freezing cold sea water,to escape a madman disguised as a cop,that started shooting wildly,laughing and talking/yelling loudly "with himself/to them". They knew within themselfs that "i wont survive in this water for that long",but at least im doing my last effort in trying to escape the terrorist. That should help explain the opening facial expression of "The Dad" looking at his daughter calling for him,but shes not there anymore. They were in theyr last minutes,even seconds of theyr lifes on this earth reported to call theyr parents,any family member or close friend/boyfriend/girlfriend to have that comforting voice in the other end,while hiding on that Island in the middle of the ocean. Someone called the police,but many were still in such terror....because it was someone in a police uniform that did this. When "Beredskapstroppen" our version of SWAT finally came,heavily delayed.....kids and teenagers exhausted,still choosed to start swimming away from the policeboat. They had to drop theyr weapons,call for them to return,that they were the good guys here to stop the guy(s) on the island. Luckily they choosed to listen and came towards the boat after that. And thanks to several locals and fishermens awareness in the area,they dropped everything they had and went out into theyr boats,risking theyr own lifes to try and save as many kids and teenagers they saw in the water. I saw the bullet holes in many of the boats afterwards. Theese guys were the true heroes! With no protection they went out there,got the kids/teens aboard as many as the boat could hold,then asked everyone to duck down (the ones heavily wounded or out of energy had first priority,and floored it back to land,where Ambulances were on hold. Then back out again! One of the fishermen on tv said "I would do it all over again". They heard gunshots so they wasnt sure either on how many bad guys there were,still they risked theyr own necks to come our youngest to the rescue. The video has alot of stuff from Norse Mythology as well. Susanne Sundfør is the same vocalist that just a few years later came together with M83 and wrote the song Oblivion for the upcoming movie Oblivion,theyr live performance is on YT as well. Susanne is amazing! (I believe it was on Jimmy Kimmel,but its a fan upload)
I dont think you should react to it, but as you have become familiar with many new artists in Norway, I think you would find the movie "Utøya 22.juli" interesting (and sad of course) as a view on your own. It might give you some good insight to the victims perspective. The terrorist is not in focus at all, and they have reconstructed the movements of the people on the island. There is a norwegian series on NRK too which I found to be very good, which focuses more on the attack from the perspective of journalists, police, nurses and other personell that were in the first line, and the aftermath. I dont think the series is viewable outside of norway, but it is called "22 Juli" and can be viewed at NRK's webtv if you can ;) I have not seen the english movie called 22 july, as it mostly focuses on the terrorist, and I think that he has gotten too much attention already.
