When you saud they are telling a story you are absolutely right! They used instruments , their origin, rithms, vocals to tell the bosses's stories. There is A LOT of music theory put into these songs. You should watch some musicians break down the songs if you want a deeper understanding.

There are certain quest call archon quest (story quest you have to do by yourself.) but you can have up to 3 more people join you world to help you after you reach a certain rank. I think it is like 25. So you have to solo the world till then. Co op is really only for side quests and world exploring. But you can interact with chat with co op.

For the Scaramouche Boss Theme, I'm not too sure why people want the translation with it? It basically talks about some of the lore/backstory behind Scaramouche that we are told in-game. It's not necessarily spoilers, it just might not mean much to you before you play the game. Hope that makes sense? Either way, definitely react to it next, without or without subs, it's SO epic!! This theme is meant to symbolise the Raiden Shogun's ideal of 'eternity' - the theme stays relatively the same all the way through. It has this horror element as she is an insanely overpowered goddess of lightning who's literally out to kill you. It's as if the theme is saying "good luck, you'll need it". The second phase is where you start to beat her and she gets angrier and stronger. Fast paced to symbolise electricity and lightning, which is also shown through the electric instruments. My absolute favourite boss theme, definitely not because I'm a biased Raiden simp... :]

What I recommend for Scaramouche/Shouki no kami theme is that you just first listen to the theme, and afterwards look up the official lyrics on google. That way you can focus on the music during the reaction and learn the lyrics afterwards.

I will never get tired of people getting blown away by how Genshin OST, boss battle or not, is able to incorporate so many folk and modern instruments and genres together into one masterpiece. It's just hecking amazing! HUUUUGE kudos to the Hoyo-mix team for the music! You're definitely right with it being a fast-paced type of battle. It's only befitting for her theme to be as quick as strikes of lightning. I look forward to your reaction to Scaramouche's battle theme! It's definitely my favorite among the boss themes! You'll understand why Raiden Shogun Boss Battle theme is like that when you fight her in Inazuma. My experience with fighting the Electro Archon is truly special. I love it so much.

One of my favorite parts of the battle ost is the one from 8:39 to 9:08 since that is the raiden shogun's lietmotif that plays all over the region in different soundtracks, usullay calm or a bit ominous, and as you explore the region you unconsciously associate it with the region itself so when you fight her and hear it in this form, it really feels like you're fighting the sole leader of an entire nation by yourself and it just makes it way more epic in my opinion

The first part plays during a cutscene where something massive happens in the story, I won’t spoil it though. Phase 1 is fast-paced and terrifying. Phase 2 is epic and fitting for a climactic battle.

So for Raiden Shogun, the ENTIRE story of Inazuma (the 3rd nation you go to) revolves around her and the Vision Hunt Decree. So you are correct that there is a lot of story around her. There is a huge portion of the battle (this one, anyway) where you DO just run for your life to dodge her attacks. As far as sounding dark, I don't want to post spoilers (because the scene is SO GREAT when you see it in game) but it starts out VERY dark.

Raiden Shogun Boss battle, is one of the best Bosses on the entire game for me, the speed, the music, the increase of difficulty, you feel helpless, you feel like you had raise your fist at a god and if you do a misstep you will suffer the consequences, is so good! I'm actually glad you went with Raiden Shogun's boss theme first so that the Scaramouche boss fight could feel a little bit more familiar since it also has Japanese elements mixed into it alongside what can be called the Fatui leitmotif which is a similar set of notes used in other boss fight themes like in Childe and Signora's

First phase is always you're the underdog against the ropes and fighting just to stay in the game, second phase is always, you're in the fight now and have it figured out and actually have the opponent defending. It's amazing how the composer manages to carry this story so consistently for each boss without it getting repetitive in the slightest.

For the next boss theme you can listen to Azhdaha's themes which is a classic, Tartaglia's theme which is associated with Signora, or perhaps Scaramouche's theme which is my personal favorite at the moment. Other than those three, we still have Dvalin bossfight, Lupus Boreas bossfight, the other Raiden Shogun bossfight, and Apep bossfight. Also, any plans on the genshin concerts or other OSTs? A heads up would be nice but a surprise is no less fun 😄

Yu Peng Chen is a genius, period. For some context, you can hear la Signora boss theme at the beginning, I won't say why it's there. The interesting part about the first phase is that it never really resolves, you hear that eternal tension of the God of Eternity.

You should listen to the 'alternate' theme of this, "The Almight Violet Thunder". It's a lot less of a "run away" feel, and more of a "Stand your ground and fight until your last breath" type theme. Very similar, but VERY different in its own rights.

The main composer of most of the genshin music is Yu-Peng Chen, who is also called the music archon by the community lol, and also note that Yi-Jun Jiang is another genius in the team who wrote Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie, the music you had reacted to at the very first place. The music team with Hoyoverse is absolutely 12 out of 10 brilliant.

Ohh I was surprised to hear this, because I always listen to the boss battle you get as a weekly boss. You are correct to call this like a movie score, because this version is actually from a cutscene/story fight. Thats why you hear Signora's theme in here as well. 2:59 "It really does feel like something absolutely terrible just happened" Yep, thats the sound of many people's hopes and dreams shattering. 8:24 This is when the weekly boss music starts

Either you or the people that recommended it may have confused "subtitles" with "captions". As far as I can recall, the 9-minute one has an options for captions that shows both the latin and english translated lyrics. But even if you can't find them, they're not really that important, especially since you'll have no context for their meaning anyway

Ohoho, you haven't heard the Scaramouche Boss fight theme. I recommend the _Diona's Special Mix_ one for the reaction, boosts the hype with some visual transitions. I'm not kidding when I say that the Raiden (and Scara) theme has been on loop while I write my essays. Pretty great background jam! As for the Shogun boss fight, weeelp it was terrifying and spectacular, I wasn't even expecting a boss fight at that moment!

Yu Pen Cheng is the mastermind behind all the Genshin music, a genius without a doubt. You can do Scaramouche's boss theme without the lyrics if you really want, it's just that the lyrics talks about some events or facts about his life... And, if you wanna react to some genshin music that is not a boss theme, I recommend you Port Ormos day theme, is a banger 😎

In Genshin Impact all the bosses have emotional weight to them in some shape or form. Its important to note that so far no boss fight has ever started without something in stake. The events that lead up to them build things up to the climax where the battle happens. I will say though I have no clue what games you've been playing but many story based games have a huge variety of music since it helps build the mood of what's going on. I cant help but giggle every time you shout out about how this is a game. I will say that I recommend Azdahal boss music, one of my most favorite of them all!

For the Scaramouche boss theme, if you pick the one of the versions then the last phase will have the volume lowered significantly. If you notice anything like that please turn up the volume cause it isn't supposed to be that low.

You don’t need the subtitles for Scara, while they’re cool, you won’t get a lot of the lyrics without the context of the game storyline, so it’s not necessary! As long as you react to the theme at all I’m happy

A completely different thing from another Rabbit Hole I think you'd dig (and that might bring quite some new faces to your viewership as a neat bonus) would be Monster Hunter Battle Themes, or some other general OST's. My top recommendations: 0. Main Theme (it is cleverly hidden in so many of the other themes) 1. Ceadeus Theme 2. Alatreon Theme (any version is good, but if you want the most modern oomph, "Monster Hunter World" version) 3. Dire Miralis Theme 4. Valstrax Theme (normal or "Crimson Glow Valstrax" for the modern one) 5. White Fatalis Theme (for the hardest banging one, go "Monster Hunter Frontier Ultimate White Fatalis Theme") 6. Raging Brachydios Theme - actually, that might even deserve to be in the top 3, but I'm not changing now And many more amazing ones, but that's just a start to what could be another amazing rabbit hole.

It's funny how you said "did they make the game and then went out to find Hans Zimmer", coz it's soo wrong in a very specific way. After the initial ideas of how a boss fights/ region/ story looks like, the Musicians are given the charge of making a draft of the music. Then the art team uses the MUSIC as an inspiration for the game's visuals itself. It goes back again to the music team for a polished version of the music and goes back to the devs again. The music is not made for a game or the game is not made for a music piece, they are constantly inspiring to and fro to create an experience that fits together in a nicely woven package.

Fun fact: if you see the "making of azdaha" video. The animators mentioned that yu peng chen completed it's entire music even before the animations for azdaha got finished. So basically ypc saw the boss picture, and it's story, and he's like " yep, i can do it".

You just made me realize that the reason it doesn't quite sound like a battle theme in the first half is because the first phase feels so hopeless and one sided. She appears completely confident and you're running around like a chicken with its head cut off. They really let you know this is her battle theme, not yours as the player. Thats what I love about Genshin boss themes. They encompass everything about the character perfectly. The entire story and personality of that boss is written in the music.

I'm not sure what happened to it but I wrote up a long detailed comment about live performances that Genshin Impact has had since you seemed interested in the orchestral/performance side of things but it seems to have vanished off of the Signora battle theme video where I posted it. It was literally just a list of (3 I think?)interesting performances and my reasoning around it.

I particularly recommend to listen to Scaramouche boss theme WITH lyrics because his song while is about his story, isn't only about it, Scaramouche whole story has a lot to do with bohemian rhapsody song from Queen, even the "live" they made for the song references the original bohemian rhapsody video dude... you listen to the story behind bohemian rhapsodia´s lyrics and you can see scaramouche story too. I mean, i think is much more powerful to know that in the song the final words, just before Scaramouche is defeated in the battle, are "Nunquan genitus desiderem" that means like "if only i had never been born" but you can also translate it to "i wish i had never been born at all" just like in the queen´s songs too... just like what he says in his teaser... words have meaning there for they have power. La signora´s song also has beautiful lyrics, and i dont know if you noticed but behind Shogun´s song you can listen to La signora´s song too, like its a part of her or something... i dont know the meaning for this but its interesting, another thing i noticed in Raiden´s song is that you can also listen to the Inazuma battle theme there too, like is representing how much influence Raiden has in her country, and you can see all of it in the game, like, dude she broke an island in half on one of her battles...

Yeah, Shogun fight was so good and the character is everyone's favourite cos hot mommy lol. They did mess up the inazuma arc by making it too short and rushed, but there are some post-arc content with Raiden that fleshes her out so much so keep that in mind when you eventually get to her

this theme is a bit special, because its whole beginning section is very distinctly different. that's because that's raiden's theme interwoven with another character's theme, and it's a whole cutscene that could be argued to focus more on that other character than on raiden. so it's not really "raiden's boss theme" until the player actually starts fighting her at about 3:25 in this vid.

On the first phase - you are 100% correct on the stalking anf horrror aspects. Thisn isn't the battle proper, but the setup where the Shogun is really revealed to the player. from most of the streamers this is literlaly the WTF moment of Raiden as a threat than the main character is in actual, in-game danger.

Raiden’s theme is amazing, it is as you said...it tells a story and each phase reflects how you feel in that moment so the chase is also accurate But yeah, with understanding the story, there is even a reason for that very first part having a very specific theme there before Raiden’s starts taking over Oh it is so good I am not sure why would you need lyrics to Scaradouche boss They just tell some of his wanna be sobby, lame backstory that you probably won’t understand anyway without the context for it tbh Hearing the music is fine on its own
