Rammstein is one of the most famous metal bands and living legends with the same line-up for nearly 30 years. Their stadium tour is the greatest metal/rock show on the road in these days. They are a german band and are considered the best live band in the world by far, especially when it comes to showmanship, pyro and fire. Rammstein don't have their roots in metal but in punk, which many people don't know. See also haircut of Till Lindeman. Above all, Rammstein uses pyro quite differently than all other bands. There is no blood on the arms, but fire protection gel. . Rammstein concerts are sold out in minutes, no matter where they are performed. Rammstein transports 1,350 tons of equipment for example for the stadium tour in Amerika. 7 Boeing 747 aircraft and 70 trucks are needed to move this mass of cargo. The stage on which Rammstein make hell for the fans is 61 meters wide. It is 30 meters deep and almost 37 meters high. 300 people travel permanently with the band to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In each city, 260 - 400 people also help to set up the stage. The construction of the steel colossus, which Rammstein calls "stage", takes 7 days. Rammstein's music is a mixture of techno (electronic music) and metal (= industrial metal). Rammstein concerts are a life time experience that you will never forget. Their videos are art but also often controversial. Rammstein also refers to classical German literature, e.g. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's. Several of their songs are related to controversial and taboo subjects such as sadomasochism, homosexuality, intersexuality, incest, pedophilia, necrophilia, cannibalism, pyromania, religion and sexual violence. Also several of their songs are allegedly inspired by real-life events or politics. Rammstein lyrics are very deep and are also often used in school and universities around the world to learn German. There are people who learn German only because of Rammstein. Rammstein fans from 10 to 90 yeras old are considered to be the craziest, hysterical and most fanatical fans in the world. In concerts from the hardcore fans all over the world it is expected that you can sing along with the German lyrics even if you don't speak German.

Du. Du Hast. Du Hast Mich. Du hast mich Gefragt. You. You have. You have me. You have me questioned. Hast has a dual meaning on pronunciation. A slight different spelling and it means "Hate". This is a duality in the lyric. The reply line is And I didn't respond/answer. The longer bit is wedding vows.. do you promise to ... till death. Chorus in female voice "Ja" = Yes. The hard response "Nein" = no It's a song that poetically deals with relationships and loyalty. The break down puts the focus first on the person being spoken to "YOU". You have/hate. You hate me. You have me (assurance) You have questioned me (and I didn't answer). Now we're being asked if we'll take each other till death. Yes, but no.. the duality again because of the mixed messages. A brilliant piece of writing which they happen to be known for. And they're essentially the best stage show on the planet. They opened for limp bizkit and Korn back in the late 90s around the time they broke out internationally and the crowd bood the other two bands in the aftermath and were bored. So this is not a band you want to go see and immediately see someone else because the show they put on is out of this world and over the top. They are also the first German band to destroy the language barrier.. People sing with them in German in every country they visit regardless of the host language. As you saw, they were in Paris France and The French audience was on the lyrics like white on paper. They are glistening because they are covered in fire retardant to deal with the possibility of being burned. And the lead singer is a pyrotechnics expert. It's why they're able to do that stuff with the fireworks and flame pots. Also look at the structure of the musical performance.. hard bass, hard guitars, hard drums driving with a relent on the keyboard.. that duality again.. The harshness countered by the whimsical keys. Really good writing.

In German, "hast/hasst" is also a Play on Words! In German, Du hast or Du hasst is not clear without the following Content! You only know whether Du hast (You have) or Du hasst (You hate) is meant in relation to the following Text! ……. you have asked me, only now it is clear that ….. du hast mich gefragt (You have ask me) is meant! When I heard the Song for the first Time I thought Rammstein probably meant Du hasst (You hate), only when I heard the following Verse did I realize that you have it meant! Hast and hasst are two Words that Sound the same in German! No German can tell just by hearing (Du hast/hasst) what is meant! It only becomes clear in Context and from the Spelling!

And I really hope this will open the gate for some of the best bands and live performances you have never seen in your live, because US music industry doesn't support European or Asian bands. The list is long - trust me. Nightwish, Epica, Ayreon, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Lovebites, Babymetal, Band Maid etc. - to start with an unbelievable song - please react to Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken 2013 and for J-Metal please start with Babymetal "Gimme Chocolate" (official). they have probably the best live music show ever, with an incredible pyrotechnics and light show. i'd like to see you react to more of their music, both their music videos which are top notch and their live performances. this was one of their early songs. if you want to check out something from their last album i'd recommend 'Zeit' (Time). it is a good example as to how diverse their music is.

Even if you don’t react, check out their other videos. The pyrotechnics (he directs himself) is absolutely nuts. From angel wings to flame throwing face masks. Even if you don’t understand German, their show would well be worth the price of admission. On my bucket list!

I'd given up on new music after the late 90's (auto-tune, over produced) until discovering these guys; then I had some hope for the music industry!

You will have to watch them live.. They are awesome. Lindemann is allowed to do fireworks himself. He learned it.. There is always fireworks. You ought to watch the videos "Deutschland" or "Ausländer".

Classic Rammstein song. I definitely recommend you listen to their other music, as well! Just saying; one of my friends who was a Rammstein fan before me (introduced me to them!), says that she thinks this song is pretty overrated and their other music deserves just as much attention. The best industrial metal band ever. Roots of industrial, electronic music came from German band Kraftwerk but Ramstein are prefect sinergy of metal and industrial. Perfection of sound, music, lirycs. Like Iron Maiden in Heavy Metal or Nightwish in simphony or Arcona in folk/pagan metal.
