The trick to appreciating a song on the first listen when the lyrics are sung in a language that you don't speak is to treat the voice like another instrument because that really is what the human voice is in a song. The singer joins his/her voice to the voices of the drums, guitars, keyboards, cowbell, kazoo or whatever is being played. Y'know how in some songs I've heard you say that the guitar was "singing"? There weren't any words but it still conveyed meaning or emotion or something to you, right, so it's the same thing with the human voice. It's not a new skill or anything because we do it all the time when we don't understand what the person said when they're singing in English without even thinking about it. It's only when it's a foreign language that we wanna choke so you just have to make that switch in your head and eventually you won't even have to think about it. You can also have the translated lyrics pulled up on your phone to read as you listen and/or turn on the closed captioning (CC) if the video has it.

I don't get why these dead obvious things are even needed to be explained o nthe first place? This is something, that should be like first instinct of the foreign listener! LOL That's how i appreciate most of the songs i don't have idea what the lyrics says! I nfact in some cases it's even better not to know to maintain mystery...in Rammstein's case lyrics can be too dirty and perverted, but the song itself may sound nice, i'd rather not know the lyrics for that kind of song, so in that case i could fantasize my own meaning of it and not get the song ruined for me for it's actual dirty meaning, so that end up cringing while listening! It works much better for me, than trying to dig into every lyrics to every foreign song i run into! For example i don't know even one word in french, but i just freaking love the way Mylene Farmer sings her songs and i don't give a damn about the lyrics, unless the lyrics are the main emphasis of the said song!

Till's voice is a golden instrument in its own righ. And one of the reasons of Rammsteins succes is how good the sharp german language fits the music. I don't speak a word German, and ive been a die hard fan since the mid 90's. How boring it must be, if you need to have stuff written on your nose in order to appreciate music.

A bit of background for you... This song was written for either Wladamir Klitschco or his brother Vitali I can't quite remember. It was written for one of them for their entrance to the ring basically. Sonne means sun, so the lyri s basically translate here comes the sun. It also mentions sun shining from his fists and the count in German represents the referee counting the fighter out. Unfortunately it was deemed a bit too heavy for his entrance so they never used it and instead released it in an album.

Thats the creative part of music in another language. You can make the song (especially based off the video) into anything you want. And it will fit. Then you learn later what the song's lyrics were. Sometimes you like your version better lol. BTW... the actress playing Snow White in this video was voted in the top 10 most beautiful women in the world. She's from Belgium.
