WTF are you talking about? This band sounds like dog shit with a couple of loud chords and bad acted videos. Without lights camera, action and shirtless guys there is absolutely nothing.
Just in case someone may be confused by the "She ODed on gold." In german (not sure of other languages) a lethal overdose of intravenously taken drugs is called (literally translated) "a golden shot".
@@wolfgangengel4835 unfortunately it is, yes. They are very, very funny about it for some reason, but I think, in fairness, that this may be classified as fair use?
The live version of Mein Herz Brennt (my heart burns) is excellent. So is Büch Dich (bend over) and Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen (would you like to see the bed in flames).
Here some input from an actual German: This song was written as an entrance hymn for a boxer (hence the sun bursts from the fists), but was actually never used. The album lyrics also differ from the one in the video. For the video, they used some techniques similar to the lord of the rings movies when it comes to size differences. And for the lyrics: In the beginning, he is counting from 1 to 9. Instead of counting 10, he says "out" (like in a boxing match). All are waiting for the light do fear, do fear not the sun shines from my eyes she will not set tonight and the world counts aloud to ten (one) here comes the sun (two) here comes the sun (three) she is the brightest star of all (four) here comes the sun The sun shines from my hands can burn, can blind you When she bursts from the fists inflicts heat on the face she will not set tonight and the world counts aloud to ten (one) here comes the sun (two) here comes the sun (three) she is the brightest star of all (four) here comes the sun (five) here comes the sun (six) here comes the sun (seven) she is the brightest star of all (eight) (nine) here comes the sun (one) here comes the sun (two) here comes the sun (three) she is the brightest star of all (four) and will never fall from the sky (five) here comes the sun (six) here comes the sun (seven) she is the brightest star of all (eight) (nine) here comes the sun out
Evi1M4chine You should probably check your sources, since Till Lindemann has said it was written for Vitali Klitschko, but wasn’t used because he didn’t like it. Where exactly did you find your information?
@@Aspartem well ..,the whole premise of the song is that , the world is waiting for the sun to come "out" Also, during the interview in the making of the video Till states that when he was writing the lyrics he had in his mind the image of a boxer ( Klitschko actually) coming"out" of the dressing room to the ring Plus boxing being a part of the song's theme one could interpret the line "Lässt dich hart zu Boden gehen" wich very roughly translates as " lays you hard to the floor" represents a fighter knocking"out" his opponent, and the count from one to ten ,being the one the referees gives to the fallen fighter ( the actual count in 1 to 9) wich after this count is over the boxer is declared"out" of combat
You have to give this band major props dude. They've been a blast in America for a long time (I found them in the 90's on a Mortal Kombat CD) and have stayed popular around the world. They've never had a line up change and always deliver awesome stage performances. Like, not many bands can hold onto that kind of relevancy for as long as they have.
Stein...like beer stein. He's counting to 10 in German in the beginning. Having lived in Germany for 6 years I love the language. It's hard to learn and hard to speak but worth it. I can't do it anymore because I left there in 1986 but I still understand it luckily. I haven't heard this group before.
I love the "they werent" lol My friend used to sing the songs in primary school not knowing what it was about. Her favorit was Dalai llama which actually tells the story of the Earl king (don't know if that's the name in English, I'm German)
Rammstein are unique in that they completely commit to their art, whatever it may be at the time. Their music videos are unbeatable because of this level of dedication and sincerity they put into committing to the vision. It's a very German thing, to be honest.
This is German *Industrial* Metal (Die Krupps, Oomph!, KMFDM, Megaherz...). German Metal is something completely different: Scorpions, Accept, Helloween, Kreator, Udo, Blind Guardian... ; )
Saw this in my recommended list, and because it's Rammstein (my favourite band of all time, ever), I HAD to watch it! Your putting this out there has earned you a new subscriber in the form of me, and I have turned on all post notifications. Keep up the awesome work and please consider doing a reaction to Du Reichst So Gut '98, also. Danke. 😊
Edit: the album Herzeleid is a great album to do reactions on. Wollt Ihr das bet in flammen sehen Weisses fleisch Asche zu Asche Heirate mich Herzeleid (yes this is a song title) Rammstein (yes this is too) All live of course
Yes Rammstein is sooo good! Also live really impressive. You should do Mein Teil or Puppe live and also dive in the meaning/lyrics of those. The music video’s are also really good. New song Deutschland is an insane video. I already follow you so I will hit like, please some more Rammstein! Also the frontman has his own project Lindemann, he has a new song out its also really good
Steh Auf. Amazing song from the upcoming new album. Instead of singing in English, like on Skills in Pills, he has gone back to German, which I think is pretty cool.
@@adrianiancu82 indeed, and they are freaking amazing! The self-titled album was amazing, Silent So Long was brilliant, and A Million Degrees......oh my gosh! 😍😍
Originally the song was titled Sieger and was written for Vitaly Klichko (Russian boxer), so the lyrics make perfect sense. Funny thing is that the model is also Russian))
More Rammstein!! Du hast live in Paris is legendary! AND perhaps one of the most important and well made musicvideo to this date: DEUTCHLAND! This is not only a very good song, but also a SICK and EPIC musicvideo! Check it out!
Snowwhite represents the sun and she is the blessing and the curse of the seven dwarfs. They cant live without her but on the other hand, shes the reason of all their pain and "enslaves" them for their work as miners. They mine the gold shes obviously addicted to and when she gets an overdose, the dwarfs are sad and redempted at the same time. They drag her to the mountain and think they cant live without her, so the apple breaks her free and repeats the circle of faith for the dwarfs.
Love this band even not knowing the lyrics the music is just amazing Also please listen to highly suspect lydia I think you will dig the video they are a very underrated band
Tipp: Use the Website "dict.cc". You'll get almost always perfect translations including "Voice Output". So type in "Sonne" (in the DE EN section) and you can listen to the right pronunciation by clicking on one of those speakers. I like this Website because those Voices are real Humans and native speaker instead of computer generated Voices like e.g. Google uses.
Wow Rammstein is definitely one of my industrial rock groups and they are German, lucky for me I speak fluent German , I do like Sonne, Du Hast you gotta be careful when you say Du Hast it means You Have and Du Haast means you hate you don't wanna get those mixed up , a also like Ich tu die ver and Feuer Frei... Good band ! Feuer Frei means Fire at will and he's singing about the different ways the Germans killed and the horrible smell of burning flesh.... First time I herd the song was in the movie XXX with Vin Diesel....
"Hier kommt die sonne" in English means "Here comes the sun" This is all i can remember from my rudimentary German knowledge. Another Rammstein song to do would be an oldie called "ENGEL".
But then surely Prince Charming has to show up at some time right? I love this band and have since followed them since Du Hast was played locally. Even though I can't understand the lyrics either, I still rock them out because of the industrial metal aspect.
If you like rammstein then check out the live shows. And before you sweating : they are full of fire and flames. Be sure you don't become a toast 😂 rammstein is one of my favorite bands. And the songs have most of the time more than one or two meanings. You can hear one song 100 times and still you hear a new song. I'm glad that I'm a German so I understand at least the song text 😂😂😂
All the following is *Roughly* speaking: In German, an 'e' is pronounced like the English 'i', and 'i' like the English 'e'. Also, 'st' is pronounced 'sht', so, Rammstein would be Ramm-shteyen. Whenever I see an 'ei' or 'ie' combination, I just ignore the first letter pronounce the second letter as it in in English. An 's' in German is pronounced like an English 'z', and the 'e' at the end of a work is pronounced like an English 'a' (as in a shortened *ah* , but not *eh* ). So, Sonne would be pronounced Zonnah. Hope that helps...
The [e] is actually spoken in German like the [e] in the English word [e]nergy. [i] is spoken like the [i] in the word [i]nternet. However, the combination [ei] is pronounced like the English letter [i] as, for example, in the word l[i]fe. The combination [ie], on the other hand, only results in a longer [i] like the [i] in [i]nternet. In this case it is more like [iii]nternet. btw. The word STEIN means stone and is always spoken like in the name of Albert EinSTEIN. RammSTEIN. I hope the confusion is complete now.😅
To me, the video seems like a situation wherein you're stuck in a place or a relationship, and you're not exactly happy with it/the person you're with, but when you leave that place or that person, things feel even worse and you don't actually know where to go from there. It can make the prospect of going back to the old way much more appealing. When Snow White dies, the dwarves are free of her abusive and overbearing presence, but they also look like they lose purpose in life. They mined for her, and she gave them that poisonously sweet attention. But now, why do they mine?
I also heard that this song was recorded by the band to be a theme song for a Ukrainian fighter as he walks to the ring I don't know I just heard that on a video where they were counting down the top 10 Rammstein songs
When you try to pronounce the german "ei" as an english speaking person, pronounce the second letter in english (like sign). It's the same with "ie" (like be).
Oh man you are missing out a lot of you do not continue with this band. Try "Ich Tu Dir Weh", "Keine Lust", "Deutschland", "Radio", and so on and on. You will love them and definetely check out the live shows - there is no other band in the world that does that.
Or mann gegen mann, if I remember that is the song about the guy that responded to an add in a paper, to be eaten by the guy that posted the add, based on true events.
FUNFACT FROM GERMANY: Rammstein's original idea for a music video for "Sonne - Sun" was the dropping of the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on Hiroshima! In a German interview, Paul Landers said that they originally wanted to denounce the cruelty and inhumanity of the nuclear weapons. The song with the video should be a criticism of all nuclear weapons. The video was to show the 6 band members as bomber crew of the B29, who in their mission dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and thus released the sunlight. This means the extreme heat and the light of the explosion. The 10 seconds counted is the time from dropping to detonation. The idea for the video was discarded because the band didn't want to attract attention with the negative press.
Hope you won't get any copyright infringements. :x Live-Versions of Rammstein tend to be much more fitting for Reation-Channels, but I must admit, that analyzing those Symbolism in the Official Videos is kinda refreshing despite most Reactors do only Live-Versions. (Okay and because Rammstein is a Band with one of, if not the best Live-Shows ever.)
I'm not a huge fan of Rammstein but I quite enjoy their music anyway. Their music style is called 'Neue Deutsche Härte' (which translates to 'New German Hardness') and it's popular in Germany, eastern countries like Poland, Russia etc and apparently in America too. I would recommend to listen to more older stuff of 'em like 'Du riechst so gut' (You smell so well), 'Engel' (Angel), 'Ich will' (I want), 'Spieluhr' (Music box; one of my favourites) and something like 'Feuer frei' (Fire freely) or 'Du hast' (You have).. also you could listen to 'Ohne dich' (Without you) which is quite different from their others songs way more melodic and melodramatic. Enjoy you stay in german language :D SCHMETTERLING (Butterfly)
You have to watch the „Böhse Onkelz „ live reunionshow at hockenheimring in 2014 or 15!! Thats another really big german Rockband with the best Audience in the freaking world!!
So the phenomenon with Rammstein (wich you pronounced on point the first attempt you did at the beginning,Ramm"shtein"),is that very few understands theyr full lyrics. But theyr metal is soo expressive, emotional, rough and all out cool sounding, and the vocals are just prizeless! They are known for theyr MASSIVE pyros on theyr live concerts too. Theese guys are touring all over the world theese days, pretty cool to see, from a band who performs in German. Only a few songs of theyrs contain some lines of English. Like Amerika (This is not a love song) Theese guys arent afraid to speak up either. Many also find them somewhat provocative. I just love them for being soo unique, having a sound that absolutely noone else has! If you want to be blown away sometime live by theese guys, check out my favourite song by them: Rammstein - Mein Herz brennt (Live at Download Festival UK 2016) The bass and guitars are soo heavy and amazingly funky in that one! If you wanna get speechless by them, watch the hilarious, mindblowing: Rammstein - Mein Teil [Live Hurricane Festival 2013 HD] (i was about to suggest this with Annie, but im not sure how she will handle the liveshow LOL,its pretty "graphic") Well, theyr vocalist Till Lindemann comes out as a bloody butcher, other then that it should be fine. Dont want to give too many spoilers away. And there is allways theyr number 1 pyro song: Rammstein - Benzin (Live from Madison Square Garden)
Yeah, you really need to check out the translations of their lyrics to English. And don't worry about it not seeming to translate well, German and English are phonetically similar almost identical. A lot of their lyrics are just as confusing in German.
I don't know if someone explained it in comments already, but the pronunciation of "Rammstein" is "Rahm-sh-ti-ne" ("-ti-" like "tiny") or - if you want to hear it directly from the band, check out their song "Ramm4", where they sing it :) And I must admit, that this song is INCREDIBLE live on their gig. And vocalist has got also his solo project "Lindemann", where he sings mostly in English ;)
Want more German metal? Check out Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song & Valhalla - Live at Wacken Open Air 2016 Trust me, awesome crowd and songs! Greetings from Germany
im not s sure about the interpretation concerning "indulging the light". But it is always hard to find a meaning in Artwork wich uses so much symbolism. For my part most Rammstein pieces are about violence is differnet pats of society and life and this praticular song is about Authoritarism and the attraction and cosequences of it (wich explains that they used the song as an outro to "Deutschland"). Witch snowwhite as the authority and the dwarfs as her followers who believe that only she can bring them the light (ideology) while ignoring their oppression.
Lyrics translated Intro: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, off.. Verse 1: Everyone waits for the light, Be scared, don´t be scared. The sun shines out of my eyes, it won´t go down tonight, and the world sings loud to ten. Chorus: one, here comes the sun two, here comes the sun three, it is the brightest star of them all four, here comes the sun Verse 2: the sun shines out of my hands, can burn (things), can blind you if it breaks out of the fists, lays hot on your face it won´t go down tonight, and the world sings loud to ten. Chorus: one, here comes the sun two, here comes the sun three, it is the brightest star of them all four, here comes the sun five, here comes the sun six, here comes the sun seven, it is the brightest star of them all eight, here comes the sun Chorus: one, here comes the sun two, here comes the sun three, it is the brightest star of them all four, and will never fall from the sky five, here comes the sun six, here comes the sun seven, it is the brightest star of them all eight, nine, here comes the sun off..
I usually don't like songs sung in other languages much, but this sounds funky. Although I do like the couple/few songs Gloria Estefan has done in Spanish, but she also did the same songs in English. I makes sense that the one line in the chorus may mean "Here comes the sun" - I just searched the German word and 'sun' was the result.
For those of a more 'sensitive' nature, some of their videos have VERY explicit R18 material in them - the funny thing is the person who introduced me to the band was a VERY 'christian' chap, so the contrast was quite surprising. [edit] Strange, for some reason my typed text is now black, but showing white - been using the 'dark theme'for over a year, so no idea why it's changed today - suggestions, anybody, as it is a bit hard to read against the dark grey background?
i would like to see more Rammstein Reaction on this Channel. There are so many great old Videos of Rammstein. Songs just like " Mein Herz Brennt " or "Links 2,3,4" and many many more.
One of the best lyrics is from the song 'Links 2 3 4'. I just do not know if it translates well in the American, so it makes sense :) greetings from Germany
Try Mann gegen Mann, the reaction would be funny! I saw many americans that loved that song, but as they saw the video, they where blown away in a bad way, i was amused by their reaction! A german comedian once said "when dont have a clue, just shut up!" The problem is, most people dont know that they dont know!
This song was originally written for a boxing fighter, but he didn't want it in the end( or something like that, I don't remember the story), so then rammstein decided to change the video for this one. For me the video shows how a big part of the world's population have to work really hard, day and night just to give small pleasures to the "elite" or to the wealthy people. And they only get "f*cked up" in return. I love this video, not a big rammstein fan, but this video is one of my favorites from any band.
on its face the song is about getting knocked down in a fight. the metaphors however are plentiful -- getting knocked down by life and getting back up etc.. they keep counting to nine and he gets back up before they reach ten. the video is a metaphor about america/greed/wealth. they have several videos on that subject. snow white is america/greed/wealth. the band is everyone else/the poor etc
@@GlitchintheMatrixMultiMedia after they found the name Rammstein, they found out that the real name is Ramstein!! P.S: The base is the one where the Flugtag misforture was
Either way you pronounce it works. I used to let it bother me when people wouldn't say it in the proper German pronunciation but then I stopped being a douche and decided it's alright because I know what you mean.
