master of the universe, orgone accumulator, hurry on sundown, brainstorm, You shouldnt do that, its so easy, motorhead, we took the wrong step years ago....
I haven't listened to this Hawkwind album in a LONG time - but it's REALLY good - with the exception of Babymetal and some other Japanese groups I've kind of retreated back to mostly late 60s - amd a few subsequent decades - I love the rawness of many of the sounds and inventiveness and miss concept albums and a bunch of other things - things feel maybe - a little overdone or sterile now? Not seen Hawkwind ina long timenow - and I can say while I remember enjoying the concert I can't claim to remember a lot about it (🤨) - the Black sword album though which I loved.
Hawkwind have been around since 1969, popular live band, still going and they have done about 40 albums! They are one of the originators of space rock, following on from Floyd and cover electronic/dance music, pop, rock and punk (the Clash were big fans). The different musical styles put off a lot of prog and rock fans back in the day and they were ahead of their time so probably sounded weird to people, otherwise I'm sure they would have been big. This album is from 1974 (remastered in 1996). Uncle Sam's On Mars or Brainstorm next!
I'm old enough to have seen Hawkwind multiple times in the 70s and boy was that an experience. It's great to see a new generation discovering their music. There 69-80 discography is deep and there's a lot of great music to discover.
