One of my favorites! Richard Marx has a deep catalog that he recorded. He also has written for so many artists that it is impossible to remember them all. You need to deep dive down the Richard Marx rabbit hole.

Shon - Richard was NEVER a part of Speedwagon - and has always been a solo artist. One of the very best of the 80's - with MANY hit songs. He is also an incredible songwriter for other artists. His ballads (Right Here Waiting, Hazzard, Endless Summer Nights) are amazing. BUT he also has some fantastic uptempo - rockier songs. Please, please check out Don't Mean Nothing, Too Late To Say Goodbye, Loney Heart, and Should've Known Better. Enjoy the journey my friend! :)

Oh yeah this guy is well known to Gen X. His first music job was at age 18 singing backup on Lionel Richie's "All Night Long". And he's been married to a famous MTV personality, Daisy Fuentes, for like 10 yrs now.

I’m not sure where you got the information that Richard Marx was part of REO Speedwagon but he definitely was not. He initially was an opening act for the group but he has always been a solo artist.

Marx wrote music for a lot of other artists. He wrote this for Barbra Streisand, but she sent it back, saying it was a great song, but she wasn't waiting for anyone, so he recorded it himself.

Speedwagon & Richard Marx are both awesome. It’s almost not fair to compare them because both are unique in their own way, as it should be. Enjoy both of them for their different perspectives & talents. Both of these artists made my life much happier & positive throughout the years.
