Klaus is one of the few vocalists that, for me, can live comfortably in Dio's category. The guy's amazing.

Klaus does play on a few tracks live- just to add some extra texture. (Coast to Coast, is, I believe, one of those) But, with Rudy and Matthias, you really don't need to, lol. If you're interested, Alexis, they have a live album out from this time period called World Wide Live that's fantastic! They really brought the heat, live.

The reason why your reaction channel is one of my favorites is that you’re able to put the music,songs and bands in context for her to properly understand before listening to the songs. It makes a big difference to know who/what the band is, at what point in their careers they are, what they meant to the particular music scene at the time, etc.. Looking forward to more!

The guitarist who did the solo is Matthias Jabs. He replaced Michael Schenker after the later left to pursue his own solo career. Michael's brother Rudolf is a founder and still is a member of the Scorpions but he is more of a rhythm type of player. All of them are great in my books😊

Always love this song. The guitar is just wonderful, especially on the outro. It's beggin', pleadin' and weeping. You can feel that kinda of energy.

I am with you Burch!!! I never sent any mix tapes to ex girlfriends but snapping a high quality painfully crafted Maxell mix tape in half must be a felony offense somewhere. I just kept my mix tapes and played them until the oxide failed or the tape broke. That is a whole separate level of breakup!!! By the way, I would call this a power ballad. I think that was a creation of the 80s.

Omigosh, y'all are so dang funny!😂 The cultural differences are so stark...I wouldn't survive today lol, gimme my 80s back.Times today are just too weird (vampire diaries, wth is that?) & Ithink that decadewas the last of the romantic era in music. Scorpions are just fantastic, so talented & what longevity! Very few have the unique attention getting vocals of Klaus Mein. So many really excellent songs in their catalog, one of the best rock bands of the 80s. I hope you keep going down this boulevard of phenomenal musicianship.

I saw them in concert in the early 2000's with Dokken and Whitesnake. It was a great show all around and they all sounded just as good as back in the day.

The band formed in 65, but the lineup we all really know was together from 78-92.

On that same album, the track before "Still Loving You", called "Crossfire", is about the Cold War, but its lyrics still apply to this day. 14:07 Best part of the song, whether you like it, or whether you don't! 😁 Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden's singer, has released a few solo albums. I was riding my bike in NH in the 80s and I spotted a cassette tape on the side of the road. I picked it up, it was Love at First Sting! A lot of tape was hanging out and mangled, but I was able to repair it and save a few songs from each side, including this one! 😊 After all of these years, I can't believe how wrong I was on the lyrics (this is the first time I have really focused on the words)😂

I saw The Scorpions live. They were the definition of professional musicians. They sounded exactly like the studio. Perfection. This was in 1988.

Their two best albums for me are Lovedrive (1979) and Animal Magnetism (1980). I enjoyed listening to every song on those two. No song on them is worthy of being skipped; at least. I only got to see them Live once in 1983, and they were very good Live.

Holy Crap! This was my go-to song in the 80's and still brings a tear to my eye when I hear it. So many breakups. Such a powerful song. Alexis is such a gorgeous girl and her describing her recount of how she rejected men by swiping left or simply destroying a suitor's tape in an instant without any second thought reminds me of how a cat plays with a mouse and the mouse is in dire peril and about to be eaten and she is thoroughly enjoying it. Burch's reaction to the song is more in line with how I feel when I hear it and seems very authentic. Keep up the good work, you two.

Klaus actually learned to speak English after the band started touring- so he could sing in English. He learned from the drummer, Herman. I think it makes just how clearly he enunciates even cooler. There are an awful lot of American/English bands that leave you all The hell did he just say????

Cant remember whether it was Rudolph or Michael (both Schenkers) on this album but Matthias is definitely one of them. And that album cover was epic.

Fell in love with Doro the first time I heard her voice in Warlock, and my heart stopped the first time I saw her in a video for All We Are, So beautiful, and my cousin met her and they became aquaintances "supposedly" hanging out when they were New York at the same time but would never let me meet her.

While stationed in upstate New York in the army I went to my first concert. It was 1984, Rochester, NY. and the concert was Bon Jovi opening for the Scorpions. Great concert!

Scorpions were so much better from 1972 through 1982 after that they became commercialized and a part the mainstream media garbage that led to the downfall to rock in general. They had much better power ballads in Fly me to the Rainbow, In Trance, virgin killers, Taken by Force, Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism, and Black out. Dang 10 minutes of blah blah blah this totally sucks got bored and left

This song was re-recorded in 2011 (along wit ha few of their other big hits), and it was done in two versions, one with just Klaus, and another as a "Frenglish" (French and English) duet with Amandine Bourgeois. But my favorite is the _sequel_ to this song that was released the year prior to the 2011 re-recordings, and it's called SLY (acronym for Still Loving You). Near as I can figure, where Still Loving You was about restoring the love of a romantic couple, the sequel seems to focus on the strained love between parent and child - the child that was the result of the relationship of the original song. Whether it's your spouse or your kids, love is hard and getting hurt one way or another is inevitable - but how you handle it is what matters.

Ah context... and I thought Alexis was SO nice, damn girl! I mean, my first "girlfriend', Kim, dumped me on the lunchline in 6th grade ON VALENTINE'S DAY after I spent like 20 bucks on candy, stuffies, and a card from Genovese (adjusted for inflation from '88, FIFTY bucks!). I got to see them way back in the day at "Monsters Of Rock" Concert. They were just 1 of the Headliners, in that MEGA SHOW!!!! Van Halen, Rush, Scorpions, AC DC, Black Sabbath, & Led Zeppelin (minus John Bonham). JESUS CHRIST.... those were the days!!!! Then the WHOLE CONCERT SCENE sorta dried up!!!! While there were bands like Journey, Foreigner, & such still out there... concerts weren't the same anymore. With the NEW WORLD ARTISTS like The Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Brittany Spears, NSYNC... more cookie-cutter tunes... to infect your eardrums... they relied on more Dance moves, more Harmonies, less instruments/playing, & more HOOKS to keep the audience distracted." Now.... this is CREATIVITY & you can FEEL the musical differences, the lyricism, the song structure, the inspiration of tonality between every instrument & inflections of the Lead Vocalist... now THIS is TRULY GREATNESS in musical genius. Please check out their catalog of hits. Y'all won't regret it... I promise you. I'm certainly not saying that ALL NEW ERA Music & Artists from the 1990 - 2000's are bad (I like ALL TYPES of music from different eras)... but, what's missing from those Artists & Bands are the SOUL & TRUE MUSICAL TALENT... they lack a willingness to take risks... to be TOTALLY ORIGINAL... while STILL giving homage to the past Artists that paved the way & changed the world. I wrote this as a poem to a girl that broke up with me, and didn't know this was a song and was really moved by it. It won her over until she found out it was copied from a song and dumped me anyway! But for a brief moment this song helped me win her back temporarily! Thank you Scorpions for that small victory in my adolescence...but anyway its just an awesome song!

Vampire Diaries is on Netflix now but was originally on WB Network ( aka The WB ) and Clause ( aka The "Hybrid" )was introduced on Vampire Diaries but was a starring character on the spin off show The Originals. Also the was a spin off of The Originals about his daughter ( aka The "Tri-brid" ). And admitting this has automatically revoked my "Guy Card". And to make it more embarrassing, I'm 55 years old.

I can't play, but I'm fairly good at hearing guitar. Sounds like a little reverb and a LOT of chorus pedal action... could even have a bit of compression to blend notes, and neck pickup of course. I hear what Alexis is saying, but thinking more of a slightly tweaked keyboard sound, not a Baby Grand. Just read a little, appears Mathias (sp?) OVER-tunes for this song, about 70 cents over (as opposed to the more common under-tuning or "sweetening").

The intro may actually be a guitar, but the sound has been processed to sound like a harpsichord. Also, I think the ending solo perfectly conveys the 'broken up' feeling with the pauses and abrupt attack to the notes.

Growing up in the 80's and actually living in what was then WEST Germany, their song 'Wind Of Change' was absolutely ICONIC and for me will always be synonymous with the ending of the Cold War, and the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the reunification of Germany they are after all, a German band. They performed in 1999 at the 10th year anniversary celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Klaus is not playing the Lead Guitar, its Rudolph Schenker, the brother of Michael Schenker.
