I have never heard of Seal until now and I certainly will be looking into his catalogue. Judging from these two songs alone, he seems to be very good at creating ambiance: melodious, elegant, jazzy, alluring... this music is blissful 😇. Thanks for opening my "ears" to this artist! 🙂
Hi! Oh wow...glad I helped you discover him. I highly suggest "Prayer for the Dying" and "Don't Cry"...2 of my faves. I would think you would have heard 2 of his biggest tunes before? (Kiss from a Rose and Crazy) Thanks for dropping by 😉
@@retroreactions.... Thank you so much, Brandon. I was going to ask for suggestions but you've read my mind 🙂. From the 90s on, I sort of drifted away from popular music - I obviously have missed out on some good stuff. Thank God there's people like you around to wake me up! 😂
You certainly SEALed the deal that we’d love today’s reaction!! I’ve enjoyed listening to Seal from the beginning of his career. I saw the tours for his second and third albums. I know I heard “Human Beings” live when I saw him in 1999…..he put on an amazing show! He’s got soooo many great songs, it’s really difficult to think of a select few. I know we’ll be hearing plenty more of Seal down the road.
🤣 What can I say? These both have my SEAL of approval!!! Hey, this is 1 artist that we've both seen live! I saw him maybe around 2016 ish. I'd wager that most if not all his songs are 5 golden recs or higher! Always a treat to have 90s on the channel and very happy that he won the poll! Thanks bud, have a great night 🥇
@@retroreactions....I know the other day you mentioned having seen Kenny Loggins….I saw him back in 1987. I think there are a few others that we’ve both seen. Thompson Twins maybe??
There's probably quite a few actually, since I've been to lots of concerts and you've been to boatloads! I saw Kenny fairly recently, maybe 2019. Technically it was just Tom Bailey playing TT music, but that counts. Others I've seen that you well might have are: Toto, Fleetwood Mac, Michael McDonald, Boz Scaggs (I think), Journey (with Arnel and Steve A.), Genesis (technically, rained out), The Police, Sade, Eagles, Elton John, Chicago, Def Leppard, Christopher Cross, and more!
@@retroreactions....out of this list of yours, I’ve seen Toto, Journey (Steve A.), Chicago. Chicago was my very first concert back in June,1975. They had The Beach Boys as openers, then played their set, then Chicago was joined by The Beach Boys members and they jammed together for like a half an hour!! I remember that it was so amazing!
Well, that too is my style! Chilling pop with an awesome voice, I suspect you already reacted to Crazy 😉 first song most heard from Seal! But this I am discussing. Have a nice Sunday, Brandon! Synth washes must have been played by a Roland D50😅 and again... Produced by the mighty Trevor Horn, you should take an ear with the Buggles 😊
Hi. I know the biggest hits like Crazy, Kiss from.. etc since they were new and played all over the radio. I actually have only reacted to him once here (Killer). Trevor was everywhere! The only 1 I know from Buggles is Video Killed the Radio Star 😊
Excellent stuff, both songs are new to me (I think) and I particularly enjoyed "Human Beings" the most! 👍 I'm mainly just familiar with his early hits (I have his second and third albums, maybe the 4th?) and listed the heck out of his second album with top favorites being "Kiss From A Rose", "Prayer for the Dying", "Don't Cry", "Dreaming in Metaphors", "If I Could" . . . hehe, pretty much ALL tracks are good on that album?! 😅
Yea HB is incredible! Seal doesn't miss. Just relistened to Prayer for the Dying and Don't Cry, back to back. Plenty of emotions and watery eyes....yup they're still 100% effective after all these years... 😌
I had not heard Seal for quite a while, and thank to you my dear I realised that if you have deprived him of vocal technique, writing talent and charisma, he would have been... Sade. Violet is too flat to my taste, I know better in this laidback, lazy mood. But his voice, wow, his voice! Human Beings, featuring strings and bells, can't be disparaged here because it has Brandon written all over it. It's very good, and for some reason the melody made me think of Tears For Fears. Be well my dear!
😬 I'm happy you enjoyed HB though! Yes, Seal wrote this song with me in mind, knowing I'd discover it 26 years later 😏 T4F always a most EXCELLENT reference....✌
