Love this song and I loved Selena; was a big fan. Just want to let you know the young lady in the video is not Selena. Selena had already died when they made this video. They do show a photo of her in this video. Selena was 23 years old when she was murdered. Sad.

This video is a representation of how she eloped with her husband, Chris Perez, who was the lead guitarist for her band Selena y Los Dinos. What makes this so heartbreaking is that this song was released 4 months after she was killed. If you watch the movie, Selena, with Jennifer Lopez playing her you really get to see how incredibly multi talented Selena really was. She was destined to be a superstar for sure. RIP Selena. 🙏🏼
Fantastic movie. I have always liked Edward James Olmos…such an AMAZING actor. Jennifer Lopez did such a great job on that movie as well. I did not know too much about Selena before that movie. Same with La Bamba…but it was great seeing her story and seeing the enormous impact she had on so many people. I became a fan when I heard the music too…wow!
I was there at the Astrodrome for her last performance. Seeing the Selena movie always makes me cry to this day. I was a teenager when she died and she was an icon within the male-dominated Tejano music world. RIP Selena
Wow! I can only imagine the energy there. She was amazing. I really didn't know about her until I watched Selena with JLo. And that was in the late 90s.
Selena was tragically taken way too soon at such a young age. There's no telling where her career would have taken her if her life hadn't been cut short. She was so beautiful and so talented.

This song out of all her songs can still bring some tears. I miss her dearly. I often wonder what great thing she could have accomplished. Tooo young and too talented. And I feel for her husband Chris. Having her must have been a dream come true then to have to live without her was a nightmare.

This is a beautiful song. However for the full On Selena you have to watch her perform. Just like all the great ones, Selena had the voice, the moves and the style that defined her as a unique artist that transcends time and place. The song Last Dance live in concert. Is an all around great song to ck out by Selena! But a great female singer named Donna Summer had recorded and released it in 1978 prior to Selena. It was a huge disco hit for Donna! But to hear Selena's version. She totally knocked it out of the park! She really made it her own! On top of that she had designed and made a really badass outfit for the concert show! (She was so multi talented!) I really Love watching her dance and do her foot work while dancing with her big ruffles on her pants flowing along with the music! Another great song by Selena is Bitty Bitty Bum Bum. 2 facts about this song ... 1 is she wrote this song for her fans .. 2 her then husband was supposed to listen to the track before its release( he wasn't able to make it)because she said it so was special to her. She died passed not to long after that 😞
My husband is Australian and didn't know about Selena. We watched the show together and he cried. He was so upset because she was such a sweet girl. I kind of accidentally told him what happened before the end and he was happy I did because it braced him. At least her husband had this ❤️

She was so beautiful in person I was in Awe of her. we spoke for 10 minutes and it was weird because we we speaking to her like she was a cousin or family she gave each of us a hug and it's a memory I will never ever forget. sadly her and my brother are gone now. You need to check out her Tejano (Tex/Mexican) songs - (where she was like a Whitney Houston level star) Como La Flor is a good place to start. Then Google her to get the entire tragic story. Or watch the movie Selena - its a good overview of her life. She was just beginning to cross over into the mainstream American music market when she was killed.
Still brings tears to my eyes thinking of her legacy and the tragic end of her life. I guess I wouldn't think that two guys could understand the importance of this song and the meaning of dreaming of you. Maybe you've never been in love to that extent but most of the young ladies will understand it from our teenage and young adult years, being armoured of someone. And the importance of this song being that it was her crossover song and something that her fans had been waiting for. And for her life to be taken from her at that point makes it that more tragic. Maybe if you watch the movie "Selena" you can understand but being guys, maybe not. But people have been requesting this song for so long and I was surprised that it didn't get blocked. Thanks 👍

@@zanychris I only mentioned it because a lot of men who aren't in touch with their emotions call such films girl films a girl flicks and they're not interested in looking at the movies I was even going to recommend that they reviewed the movie on their movie reviews since they were trying to start that up. I didn't feel that the review was in touch with the song. Kind of lacking in the emotions that I was feeling and thought maybe the movie would get them more in touch with it. It was not an insult to all men but you should admit that most men, minus everything that we know about Selena and the importance of this song if they just heard it on the radio they would not be in tune to it. And I never mentioned anything about the Hispanic community, of course they know. I was basically talking to these guys...Boy I said a lot and still didn't get my point across probably. It just seemed a bit odd of a comment because they’re not knowing Selena has to do with their age. You just made all of these assumptions based on I’m not sure. They don’t understand Selena and this song due to their age, not their gender. I remember exactly where I was when I heard she was murdered. This song is still bittersweet for the reason you mentioned. It hurts to think of what could have been. I’m Hispanic and this feeling is still true for all of us. The twins have done this with lots of singers and songs-they CAN’T understand because they don’t know. That’s not gender. Oh, and Selena is my favorite movie. My family-including the men-love it and we periodically rewatch it….and cry at the end.
@@zanychris Well I see upset you and really didn't mean to the only reason I laid the comment was because in their response Tim had stopped the the play and was asking Fred if he had ever dreamed of anyone like that and you know Fred answer that you know maybe when he was in the fifth or sixth grade then he stopping and said no I mean like now and you know Tim was basic saying he never felt like that and then he asked us had we ever felt like that and that's what I was responding to. My comment it was basically about the dreaming part and that I was responding to and the importance of this song. He did asked us to comment below about the dreaming. It seems unusual to him. And about it being a gender thing I know plenty of females of their age group and their generation even younger than their age group that know about Selena. All of them have seen the movie and know the music. The dude's not so much only if they've watched it with their moms or girlfriends it's not something that guys in the hood sit down and watch. But all of the Hispanic people that I know, know and love Selena ( and I know a lot I'm in Texas after all been plenty of backyard birthday parties quinceaneras and weddings of my friends coworkers and neighbors so I'm not just saying that) . I know that Tim and Fred are different because of their upbringing and not being influenced by a lot of the older generations music. But if you ask the young men now of a certain age group and culture they don't know Selena or know the name but really don't know her music and haven't seen the movie. Love this! But to really get an idea of who Selena was you've got to check out one of her live performances... I would suggest Cumbia Medley from the Houston Astrodome concert (her last concert before she was murdered) or No Me Queda Mas from the same concert 💜 watching any of her live performances will show why she is still beloved and why she is still La Reina de Cumbia 👑
I love this song. She was amazing. Selena was actually the one on the tv. She wrote this about her husband. She was murdered by her manager in I think in 1995.
Yes, I’m close to 40 and I still dream about a guy if I really like him, I daydream. This is a real love song, idk if people look and feel about true love, like they used to, I think I was in the 6th grade when this song came out. I guess it’s for the true romantics. I love Selena, now you got to watch the movie with Jlo, such a good movie. She was big, if she would have lived, I’m 💯 positive she would have been huge, but she is still huge, y’all are listening to her song close to 30 years after her death. I still cry thinking about her not being here in the physical reality with us, but she definitely left her mark. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Love Selena and I’m glad you guys got the chance to listen to her songs.

I don’t remember this song getting to have an music video because Selena had been killed already but this is nice. I was ten years old when she died and a big fan. I was on the school bus on my way home and they announced it on the radio all over the country. They released this song on the radio in her honor and then her Cross over album came out and was huge. She was such an angel. She told kids to stay in school and work hard. She was 23 about to be 24 years old and wanted a family one day…
