Shania,although being Canadian is also legally registered as 50 percent North American Indian,wich was something i embraced with her early on. Next after Madonna,i think Shania is the absolute favourite female artist i have,noone can touch her. As a matter of fact,i call both Madonna and Shania Queens of Pop music and then some. Both have experimented with several genres. And like Shania said once herself: "I love country music and i do consider myself a country artist,but you are correct,i have alot of pop,also rock in my songs. I love to mix the songs up,a country song can really be uptempo and rocking with heavier drums and guitars,same with my more pop`ier songs,they are not clean country by any means,but i always have abit of country sound with me,in every song. It can be that one instrument or 2 that still adds that country vibe to it. Shania also admitted: "i have had people in the actual country music community hate on me for mixing theese genres together,they want theyr country music clean,and i get that. But i would at least want them to respect me in return for being an artist myself,that puts my heart and soul into my songs. Did i crush on Shania? I would lie if i said i was able to resist her charm and beauty. I still think she looks amazing! It is said that Shania plowed way for alot of the female and male country singers we hear today that isnt "all country",she dared to be different and she stood her ground on all the backlash. IPersonally,that makes me think of Madonna and how many lives she has saved through only hiring minorities over the years as her backup dancers and singers,plus using her fame to stand up against people in high positions out in the world,that wasnt doing theyr jobs too well. So Shania and Madonna have alot in common,not afraid to go theyr own ways,and let theyr voices be heard. Allthough totally different too,but they are still my 2 Queens of many reasons,besides the obvious.

This was originally recorded as a duet with Brian White (another country artist from the 90s). That is who the backing vocals on this track were. It isn't her voice doubled. When she released it as a single, she made it a solo. The album cut is the duet version, and that is the one I used for my wedding in 2007.

Let's face it, what's not to like about Shania. Not only does she have a wonderful voice but the camera absolutely loves her, she has tremendous on camera presence. She dominated the country/pop music scene in the 90's with hit after hit and as an added bonus she not only sang the songs but she either wrote or co-wrote almost all of her songs, she's obviously multi-talented. Talking about the use of the piano in country music, made me think about Ronnie Milsap. One of the best piano players in country music. Two of my favorite songs by him are "Stranger In My House" and "Lost In The 50s Tonight". As always a fun reaction. I always thought of her as more of a blend of country and pop. Certainly a talented artist. And any reaction of her songs would be enjoyed.

This song always brings back so many memories. My girlfriend was a big Shania Twain fan, so for her birthday one year, I gave my girlfriend tickets to Shania’s show at the MGM in Vegas. It was an amazing weekend - expensive but she was worth the extra hours I worked to get an incredible room and the tickets. I even surprised my girlfriend with a shopping spree for just the right dress, shoes, pre-show spa day and make over prep ($$$$$). We had a wonderful time and I knew she was the one. This was the song she said reminded her of me, so it became our song. A month later I decided to have a ring special made for her - because you have to do it right after all - to surprise her. Then she surprised me when she told me when she said told me she was pregnant, but I wasn’t the father. Good times!

Love this song and this was the only CD I ever bought in the nineties of any current artist of that time. Shows what I thought of music back then and right up through now. As I recall it, the death knell for popular music started in 75 or 76 when that stupid Disco craze BS took over and its been a steady decline to where we are now which is nothing Music is dead today. This song is from her "Come On Over" released in 98 or 99 and I think is still the biggest selling Lp by a female artist in history. This Lp spawned seven #1 hits which is crazy and has too be some sort of record. She was one of those rare crossover artists that charted on both the Billboard pop and country charts. This was and still is a great Lp and I still listen to it occasionally. Not only was she a great vocalist and performer but also a world class beauty, at least in my eyes and at 56 she still looks great to these 65 year old eyes. I never cared much for country from around 2000 and on. You have to go back to the 1940's with the likes of Hank Williams, Gene Autrey and others. The 50's thru the early 90"s had some great stuff. Early nineties we had Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Allison Krauss, (give her a listen, great), Randy Travis was really great and then that stupid Texas beer drinking, line dancing and Boot, Scoot and Boogie BS started. What the hell does that even mean? I'd like too Boot, Scoot and Boogie my foot deep into the asses of a few of these idiots. I think of MAGA with these idiots and rebel assholes in the south with their rebel flags. The war ended 158 years ago in 1865 and newsflash assholes. You lost for a cause that was a very bad one.
