🇨🇦 61YO Yep my dear that him signing If you don't believe it Try by Simply Red 🎵 " If you don't know me by now " You will ADORE THIS ON 💖 Keep the good work Sunshine 🌞
Great Reaction :) Around 1,000 Women will testify that he is not that innocent....lol If you like colourdul videos the video of Simply Red "Fairground" is wonderful. So many great songs like "Stars" as well. Named "Simply Red" because of his Red hair,
I remember me and my brother hating Simply Red and ABBA because my mother used to play their songs a lot. Her reaction always was : ''These songs are timeless ,talk to me in about 25 years and you'll tell me that you like Simply Red and ABBA more than the techno and hip hop you listening to now''... She was so right
I hear ya brother, I didn’t really like this kind of stuff in the 80s but now I love it because it brings me back to the good times when I wore a younger mans clothes, greetings from British Columbia 😎
It's funny, I was a young 17 year old when Abba and the Bee Gees etc were in their prime. I didn't appreciate the Bee Gees at all back then. After revisiting their music some 40 years later I realize how talented they were.
Mick Hucknall wrote this song at age 17, Holding Back The Years is about the moment he decided to leave his father's house and about the mother who left him when he was 3 years old so there's so much pain in his voice. Today Mick is almost 61 years old and continues to sing with Simply Red
I loved the expression on your face - is that him singing?! 😂☺When the voice don't match the face 🤣🤣🤣Simply red is the band and Mick Hucknall is the singer. Other songs you could check out: stars, if you don't know me by now, fairground... There are so many more! Talking about real artists 🔥🔥🔥Love your content, stay safe and healthy 💋 Huge hug 🤗
A great song, superbly sung. The video was filmed in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and also on the North York Moors Railway. The ruined church in the background is Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's "Dracula". The first monastery was built on the site 657 AD, which is 1,364 years ago. Although I now live in new Zealand, I was born and brought up in Scarborough, which is a short distance down the coast. Thanks for the memories!
Yep! That’s his voice! I’ve seen him do this live on stage, 40 years after this came out. He is older, but still has the red, curly hair and he sounds exactly the same!
Singers who can REALLY blow & who hail from Europe tend to appreciate & emulate American Soul music & it shows in their performances. Examples: Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, Steve Winwood, Lulu, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Sting, Phil Collins, Mick Hucknall ( (from this group), Amy Winehouse, Rag 'N Bone, Adele, etc. etc... the list is endless
I saw Simply Red live when they were in their heyday and they were epically good. I tried watching this with you but I couldn’t concentrate on the song because I kept getting distracted by you. Have any idea just how beautiful you are OMG Drop Dead Gorgeous doesn’t do it justice. 😍😊
Emperess: Listen to him live at the Royal Albert Hall, doing this and, You Make Me Feel Brand New, and Star, and one other I can't remember at present.
Great reaction Empress! And so nice to see you again. Your face is so expressive when reacting to the songs you play. Would love to see you react to The First Time I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack first take. Take care Empress!

I am 68 years old, and I can't hear these songs without crying; soulful vocals have that powerful effect on me regardless of WHO SINGS THEM! THANK YOU, EMPRESS JOY-JEAN!
Simply red. Yes. Nice. You will love also his song "If you don't know me by now". Another great heartfelt video. I like it that you can feel the music and the feelings/ soul in it. Take care Empress.
With this song, Mick Hucknall has created a monument for eternity and written music history... simply legendary! And I am delighted to see that young people like you like and love this music. That's great... that's the only way music can remain immortal!🎤🎶😊🙏👌
Well yes this is really good music, timeless. Another great song from Simply Red is "for your babies", I'm sure you will love this song, Mick Hucknall's voice is unique!
Simply Red is one of the few Bands that I would pay to see.. As someone below suggested, U should review Simply Red's cover of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes "If You Don't Know Me By Now" featuring the late, great Teddy Pendergrass.. "Holding Back the Years" is the story of Mick's life growing up in Ireland.. ♠W.G.
Loved your reaction and comments! I’ve seen a lot of reactions to this song, but your comments of “Haunting and Beautiful “ truly describes it. It touches the soul. I hope you will react to “STARS “ and “If you don’t know me by now “. Those two songs, take it to a new level!

You have an intuition in your assessment of this song. This young singer with the beautiful voice sounds so soulful and heartfelt because he`s singing of his past. "Strangled by the wishes of pater" he`s talking about his father. "Hoping for the arms of mater", He`s talking about his mother. The most captivating songs come from life experience. The musical arrangement that accompanies his voice is outstanding. The horn solo is simply amazing. While his past might have had some pain.... He "keeps holdin` on". Funny thing that is never talked about in the reactions to this song, is that time and God can turn tragedy into something as beautiful as this song.
Search for a live performance of Holding Back the Years you will be amazed his live performance sounds just as good as his recordings you will be amazed!
Please keep reacting to Simply Red. Mick is not as simple as he seems in this video. 😉 I think you would love one of my favourite stage performances, Trill Me. Thank you! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uOVReC8Fczk.html
This is an older video, he was very young. He grows into his voice, trust me. Find a newer video where he's older. That voice remains strong and beautiful.
I was listening to im to him twice in Würzburg (Germany) and I have to tell you that he is singing even better than on the record. Simply Red is realy something special. The first time when I heard that music I never thought that he was a white guy.
Mick Hucknall was 16 when he wrote this song,it's about him missing his mother, she left him with his father at three years old and his father brought him up,
Mick Hucknall has an amazing voice. I might suggest you listen to money's too tight to mention. Great song. Incidentally if you like voices with a haunting quality I'm sure you would love Strong by London Grammar. Great reaction. Thank you 😊.
