I love simply red and mick Hucknall, he wrote this song about his mum who left him when he was a baby, His dad brought him up, Mick is one of them rare vocalists who sounds the same as the studio if not better live, simply red have some amazing songs one of my favourites is stars from the the the album of the same name, absolutely brilliant.

Mick has one of the best voices of all time. ❤️

A fabulous song. Unbelievable. The first time I heard it back in the day I rushed to the record store and bought the album. Yes, Angela we used to do simple things like that. Mick Hucknall is still in fine form all these years later. He takes care of his instrument. Watch him in concert on youtube some time.

This is why 80's music 🎵🎶 was so good. You had signers with various voices that could sing any type of song and the music had so much variety. This song was played in the movie Love and Basketball. Truly a soulful classic masterpiece and everyone thought this singer was African American and they were surprised.

Damn I haven't heard this song in years 👏. I love this song. I had the tape and I played it so much that my tape player finally eat it 😵. I used to play the "horn" part on my harmonica and I added my own touch to it to make it longer. I can remember my friend's begging me to play it until I got so tired of playing it 🤣🤣.

In the video the guy playing it could be kin to Mr. Mick, this trumpet does Not have a Mute on it but sounds as if it does.. I love Simply Red, one of the few that I would pay to go see.. Tim Kellett is the trumpet player. I have loved the sound of trumpet played with a Harmon mute ever since i discovered Miles Davis eons ago. I had to look it up; there's so much synth going on, i wanted to know that a human was directly producing that sound. Yep. 'Hope you feel much better soon. I am really enjoying your cast -

Love this song, he did this song on a video that was made in an old whaling town in the northeast of England called Whitby. A most beautiful little town to visit so much history too, including the story of Count Dracula, who made use of the old church on top of the hill over looking the North Sea. This song and video go together so well you should watch it if you get the chance.

Mr Hucknnall also has a great blues voice! I saw him sing with BB King, Slash and Ronnie Wood at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It was a BB King gig but he could of course invite artist's of that calibre to perform with him. Greetings from across the pond.
