Bruh how you gonna leave out #2… smh. Joey jordison the best percussionist out foreals I still remember when he had no eyebrows haha rip to him and Paul
65 year old black man here that is a HUGE Slipknot fan!!!! Great to see your reactions to this group! Just subscribed hoping to see more reactions in the future....;)
ive seen them 4 times in the last year ... i can honestly say no amount is enough, corey's voice :') and the band, I have so much love and respect for them! hell yeah!!
Fuck yes. Awesome for you. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum having seen Slipknot in Atlanta at Ozzfest in 99 when they were new. Static-X was there on the little stage too. Drain STH. Good times.
Mick Thompson, lived in des moines, went to valley high-school in west des moines iowa, dad was best friends with him back in high-school, used to play guitar all the time with him, i have so many stories to tell, born and raised, I'm proud to be an Iowan partially because of this band as a whole, changing nu metal for LIFE
@@johnnysmith4553 Cory was born in des moines, as well as most of the band except for a few, Jim and Paul are not from iowa. Shaun actually lived less than a block from where I was raised
@@anthonyclose6992 very cool. I remember when they had first hit it big. I live in IL and had met a few guys that were working for a company that was located close to me. They were traveling for work and we had just randomly met at a bar. After talking fir awhile we got on the subject of slipknot. They had went to school and played football with a few guys of the group. I remember hearing them for the first time and just thinking....your probably never gonna hear a band like this again in a lifetime
This song is phenomenal. Slipknot is too good. Their music is fantastic. What a band. Heavy and melodic with changing time signatures and flows we can all catch. And Corey Taylor is awesome. He's rapping, he's singing, he's screaming and growling and we're all bouncing and singing along.
@@matrikzdaclown7496 The "Duality" video shoot was the biggest film event in Des Moines since the 1994 shooting of the flick "The Bridges of Madison County,"
@@listerine5257 i think it was a renovation, the fan offered the house to the band to take care of the demolition and the band payed for the work to fix it.
Corey Taylor is the lead vocalist and you should look at his other band Stone Sour. He is so different in that band and I think it showcases his abilities in a different way. You can really appreciate his talent after going from Slipknot to Stone Sour. He is so so so talented.
I thank yall for trying out slipknot they are my favourite and i know they arent for everyone:)psychosocial is a good one to have a listen too! yall have such wonderful character's and personality. A big happy hello from Sacramento California!
Slipknots style of music is definitely different than any other band/song I’ve seen you guys react to yet. They’re a sound all their own…with lyrics often about pain and suffering. I absolutely love the fact that you guys always stay open minded!
When you guys all start headbanging in sync it reminded me of that scene from Wayne's World when they're in the car headbanging to Bohemian Rhapsody. Peace
I think the best thing about Slitknot is that if you see the live they sound identical to their albums, it’s a phenomenal amount of talent and they’re still rocking
I believe this one is about the Migraines that Corey gets, generally induced by all "the things I have to take", and the feeling of hopelessness he has during them because it feels never-ending.
@@brandonguindon1056 No, the meaning behind this song stated during an interview. It's not actually a metaphor, this is one of Corey's very literal songs.
Wasn’t expecting y’all to jump into Slipknot. Haven’t listened to them in a good while but Dead Memories is my top 3 favorites. Check that song out sometime guys.
@@ceaserknk6640 there only a few songs I like through out the whole album. I’ll check out a few more songs but this song they did, not really a fan of but it didn’t hurt to listen for my first time.
@@colbywitha_5.4I think this is their best album also. Great all the way through. Vermillion is a sleeper track outside of the heavy hitters on that album. So good!
I’m not a slipknot fan, but this song right here is special. This is one of those songs that will get everyone nodding their heads, regardless of what type of music they listen to.
Slipknot sounds like sounds like a war being fought inside a factory. Love this shit lol 8:25 "it's like he was pushed to the edge" - yep, edge of that chair's ability to stay upright.
One thing I really like about the video for Duality is there's a pretty good visual for the influence music can have. At one point in the video, all the kids are just ROCKING when Corey (the lead singer for those that don't know) raises his hand. They all just stop. That's when the lyrics "All I have is insane" kick in. The kids put on a pretty good display of seething(?) until the crescendo hits then BAM, right back to rocking out until the song ends.
@@nobodyimportant1337 No, they should do the lyrics one first, because while great live the lyrics just gets muffled and sounds like mumbling live if you don't know them.
This is my favorite band of all time and I got to see them for the first time in March it was amazing RIP Joey Jordison my favorite drummer of all time and RIP Paul Gray one of the founding members
@CartierFamily So I appreciate you guys broadening the spectrum of music to try. I have seen slipknot 3 times this past year. So taking absolutely nothing from them you should give a reaction to LORNA SHORE'S song INTO THE HELLFIRE. To see yalls reaction to that would be awesome. They have a new lead singer will Ramos who is so talented it's disgusting.
Beautiful! Slipknot are metal goats. I think a few Slipknot videos you’d like are Nero Forte, Psycosocial or Solway firth. A great live performance would be “spit it out Live at download 2009”. I hope you guys do some more Slipknot. Peace fellas.
This is one of my favourite slipknot songs. The music video is insane, but in my opinion psychosocial has the best music video. And also, the guy in the white shirt was a metal head in his past life
the reason the guitar and drums sound so good is because there are 9 members in the band: 1 singer 2 guitars 1 bass guitar 1 drummer 2 custom percussionists 1 dj 1 sampler/keyboards
One of my favourite Slipknot songs! Been a fan since I was 18. I’m now 39, saw them for the first time in Jan 2020. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
Whoever's reading this, i pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen
Fun fact: Maggots (Slipknot fans) are some of the coolest fucking people you will ever meet. Metalheads in general are always super dope but there's something about 30+ year old Slipknot fans that have been around for a while. This band created one of the best communities around.
When you do “spit it out” and you will…. PLEASE do the album/lyric video and NOT the live version for your first listen like EVERYONE else seems to do.
@@ZodsSnappedNeck which is hilarious because Slipknot crowds aren't hard to hype hahaha, it comes with the territory. Corey is just a true professional
@@ZodsSnappedNeck exactly, which is fine if you’re a Slipknot fan and already know the lyrics. Reactors on their first listen to the song where Corey “Raps”, and their primarily hip hop heads hence the suggestion to react, then they literally miss everything he’s saying. Live reactions are fine if you’re reacting to the show/performance itself and the crowd and it’s energy. Sonically though they typically don’t track and you lose something on a first listen
As a metal head of almost 25 years, appreciate y’all doing this. Check out My Own Grave by All That Remains is melodic hardcore and you won’t regret it hailz 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I'd love to see you guys react to People = Shit by Slipknot but idk if it'll be too hard for you guys. It's one of my favorites and a must listen for anyone checking out Slipknot
@@alfonsoreyes8121 I could never forget our national anthem! I saw them live recently and being in the audience to raise my middle fingers while screaming Surfacing was one of the highlights of the night
So glad you finally reacted to Slipknot, they have so many songs you haven’t even come close to scratching the surface of their catalog. Side note they have songs with the rapper Tech N9ne.
the actual music video really makes this song. a fan was demoing some property he had and they shot the video there. several people injured etc, but nothing in it was faked.
I’m a 49 year old black man. I’ve seen Slipknot many times, including last year at Wacken Open Air, a metal festival in Germany with 85,000 of my closest friends. I would like to encourage you to listen to “Thy Art Is Murder” if you haven’t. Listen to the first track of their album “Hate”.
I love that you guys do these rock joints! Keep it up! React to System of a Down “Chop Suey” pleeeeeease! I think you guys would go crazy in the best way!!! I also think you guys would love the videos for Korn songs. Try “Freak On A Leash” or “Falling Away From Me.” Also, I think I heard you guys mentioned Limp Bizkit in the Papa Roach reaction? “Nookie” by Limp Bizkit is a dope song and video and also “Break Stuff” has some dope hip hop legends in it as cameos.
You guys definitely need to check out more Slipknot! Disasterpiece, Spit It Out, No Life, Sulfur, Pulse Of The Maggots, Killpop, All Out Life, and Orphan just to name a few bangers.
Heck yeah! Saw Slipknot a few months ago n Cypress Hill opened up for Slipknot. I was full on dressed up like pinhead from Hellraiser bustin out Cypress Hill songs n B Real pointed us out. Epic show.
Not my type of music but I remember Slipknot being massive when I was in highschool... I was listening to Dr Dre Chronic 2001 and next to me was kids listening to Slipknot, they were raw af.
love seein other black folk discover metal, was huge into metal since i was 10 years old, and was considered weird back then, seeing the community more open minded about metal now days is a beautiful thing to see
I first saw Slipknot in 99 in Ankeny Iowa. Saw them again in 2019, once again playing for their home state crowd. Phenomenal band and 2 of my all time favorite experiences.
The first time I seen one of their videos with the masks on I was like wtf? Yes it creeped me out! I don’t know if you know this but the singer Corey Taylor is also in the group Stone Sour which is rock but not hard rock as Slipknot and he also has done some solo work as well. He is a very talented individual! My husband absolutely loves Slipknot! Me that’s too much for me but I do like Stone Sour.
Thank you for listening to this with us. You have to check out, slipknot before I forget and watch the video. It shows the bands face. Thank you guys!!
You guys must react to Heretic Anthem and Vermilion 2 in that order. You will not be expecting the distinction between both songs nor will you be disappointed.
You all should watch the actual video. That video still gives me chills. open casting call in their home state of Iowa, and they crushed it and an abandoned house.
Definitely do more slipknot guys. One of the greatest bands of all time. They are releasing a new album on the 30th. Look out for it. Dive into more of their music you won't be disappointed🤘🏻🔥
You know slipknot is one of those bands that’s not only about the music but equaly about visuals and delivering a great show. Much like Kiss did in the 70’s. One of few truly original bands.
So, a band you guys can try is called Skindred. They've got a new album coming out this month. Pretty sure it's their 7th or 8th album. New song on the new album called "Gimmie That Boom". I think you guys might like it. Skindred is a blend of Reggae and Metal, from England.
Seeing ol mate in the grey shirt legitimately be vibing to it made me heaps happy he prob never heard shit like that before in he’s life much love From a rap and Slipknot lover
