Oh by the way I'm writing this before I watch your reaction so thank you beforehand. I called my daughter last week to wish her happy birthday and she asked me to call back because she was listening to "her song". Her husband wakes her up on her birthday every year with the playing of "Isn't She Lovely". That has been her song since she was born 43 years ago and she likes to recall that her mother heard that song on the radio when she first found out she was pregnant with her and then we heard it on the radio again months later as we were driving to the hospital for our lovely little angel to be born ... and she's still our lovely little angel. Thank you Stevie Wonder.

My love for Stevie wonder and ray Charles runs deep. Watching my granddaddy perform with and jam with these guys when I was little are some of my fondest memories. My mother and myself have a true love of all music given to us by him. I never had just been exposed one flavor of music but my true love of soul music for sure comes from granddaddy and his love of it. I miss hearing him play his bass fiddle and watching him slap those strings. But I know somewhere in heaven he is jammin with some of the greats again. ❤❤❤

Not women in general, but his daughter Ayisha specifically and when you listen to the full long version, the song begins with a baby crying as if it were just being born and one of the lines in the song says isn’t she precious just at one minute old that is the homage to his daughter
@zanohoriamazo1
@zanohoriamazo1 Год назад
‘Isn’t she lovely’ is the hook, but you gotta hear the resolving lyric: ‘I can’t believe what God has done, through us He’s given life to one, but so very lovely, made from love’. The song can be used to celebrate women no doubt, but this was a celebrating the birth of Stevie’s daughter, Ayisha. The line is, ‘Life is Ayisha..’. You guys have the short version here, that was probably bused for radio. The album is longer which has a recording of his daughter playing in her bath & her daddy Stevie saying, ‘Come on, get out the water baby…’, & imitating things she seems to say. It’s precious! He included Behar on the record while the music is still playing. By the way, not only does Stevie play all the keyboards & harmonica, he also plays drums & played on this track, as he did most of his recordings into the ‘80’s. This song is from Stevie’s epic double album, Songs in the Key of Life, which had others like, Sir Duke, I Wish, & Another Star, to name a few. One song from that project that Stevie didn’t play drums on was an instrumental fusion piece called, Contusion. You can learn a lot about Stevie & the Motown legacy from a docu called HITSVILLE: The Making Of Motown. 👍🏾

Stevie wonder is an amazing musician/singer songwriter, and played most of the instruments on this tune…Stevie Wonder - vocals, harmonica, percussion, RMI Electra Piano, Fender Rhodes, bass synth, drums, talking in recording …and lets not forget he does this while blind. He wrote this song for his daughter, but Stevie himself is also a unique gift from GOD.

Prince and Stevie will ALWAYS be in that top 5. Prince could play 27 or so instruments on a HIGH level; not to mention his vocal range. It doesn't matter, the people that know it know it.

Little Stevie Wonder. What a talent. Living for the City. One of my personal favorite songs. A real song. Doesn't fit any genre me thinks. Im sure some jackass will claim it for what ever "social" reason. Its just a fact of life. Since before Rome in BC 300. Earlier, thousands of years. Humans are humans. We have emotions. Thats it. When we try to outlaw that is what it is to be human, we condemn us all to slavery.

Stevie wrote this after the birth of his daughter, Aisha. (At 3:31 - "Life is Aisha, The meaning of her name..."). You may have missed the line that says, "Isn't she lovely - less than one minute old...". The longer album version of the song has a section with the sounds of baby Aisha playing in the bath tub. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9-n3Ydy7ras.html In recent years, Aisha has grown and is a singer herself and has performed this song along with her father on stage.
