Real instruments and real soul takes it to the next level. The Jones Girls have Nights Over Egypt, You're Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else,...............
The song was originally written for The Jones Girls in 1979, Xscape remade it in 1995 with Jermaine Dupri producing skills made Xscapes version more impactful
I like both versions.Xscape, in my humble opinion, in terms of vocal arrangement, took it to the next level. Not saying it’s better but they put their 90’s spin on it. The fact that they were covering The Jones Girls was giving them their flowers bc the old school fans know that The Jones Girls were unsung (no pun intended). ✌🏽
The devil is a lie. These girls can sing circles around Xscape. Trust me I have seen both in concert and the Jones girls harmonies are unmatched to this day.
The JONES GIRLS!!! NOW THIS IS MY TIME!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😎😎😎😎 Their big hit on the local was 'NIGHTS OVER EGYPT' That was my FAV!!! Rest in peace Valerie and Brenda was my absolute Crush.... The only surviving sister is Shirley. When they played Nights Over Egypt on Soul Train I was already contemplating marriage with all of them! They were fine mamasota's!!
These Ladies are the truth..checkout You Gonna make me Love Somebody... the Jones Girls are actual sisters and began as background singers and went on tour with ms Diana Ross before their debut album
Asia, making remakes is a standard in the music industry. Luther Vandross remade “A House Is Not A Home”. And made his even tho his good friend Dionne Warwick recorded it years previous. Luther remade quite a few songs and made the song his If This World Was Mine Love Won’t Let Me Wait Superstar Anyone Who Had A Heart Always And Forever (Og by Heatwave better) Creepin It’s a business move to draw your audience to something familiar and guide them to your new songs on the album. I remember my son thought The Isley Bros sampled “Ice Cube, It Was A Good Day”. I almost fell out my chair laughing
Deep dive into the Jones Girls music. You will never regret it! Nights Over Egypt, A Dance Turned into a Romance; At Peace With Woman!; Get As Much Lovin As You Can. Omg...yall gonna love them. ❤❤❤
Have you all heard the group called Foghat? They sing "Slow Ride" "Fool for the City"😊, If you can, Please check them out. They have great guitar playing. ❤😂 Thank You. From the lady from Missouri. Love you guys!
You guys need to check out 'I'm At Your Mercy' and 'Dance Turned Into A Romance' by The Jones Girls. 1979 & 1980. One's a soulful ballad and the other was an up-tempo dance tune.
Who can i run to…. The Jones, Xscape and other R&B girl group sang it, thank you for this beautiful versions…. Thank you Lord for the song Writer, melody, song….. this song lives on……
Ya'll just don't understand. Back in the day before they became popular they were sought after for they're backing vocals. So much so after they toured with Diana Ross she told them they needed to make an album. They got picked up by gamble and huff after Diana's 3 year stint and the rest is history.
Just wanted to say this chan is one of my favorite reaction channels. You guys both come across as genuine and real and those are qualities that are often in short supply. God bless and keep both of you and continued success. It could not happen to two nicer people.
Two of the most used samples in Hip Hop & R&B is The Genius Of Love (Tom Tom Club Famous songs are “The Message, Check Yo Self (Ice Cube) Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down (Puff) A Dream (Bonnie Debarge) A Dream is the famous sample Tupac used on “I Ain’t Made At Cha). Blackstreet “Don’t Leave Me”
I love the way you guys talk about the the different parts things about the songs and the bj puts his thoughts into perspective i grew up listening to these doo wop songs and singing them with my group called the sheps popular accapella groups out of New Jersey . You two are a great couple I love you guys keep up the great work you do to help educate the younger generation. I will keep watching your videos and by the way Asia is gorgeous and sweet women god bless you both.
You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm 56 now and can remember hearing and falling instantly in love with theJones girls from the grey album at the time. Every black person should know who they are. Shame on all y'all who don't. All their albums are GREAT 💯❤❤❤
Xscape aint got ish on The Jones Girls. They were the best girl group back then along with The Emotions.. That's why today's artist copy off of 70's and 80's artist. The vibe is just different from today's artist. Bands back in the day played their own music and it was just so much better than today. If I could relive from 1975 and all through the 80's I would. I'm not impressed with most of todays artist.
Asia/Bj- I know you have reacted to Bad Company by n the past, but around 1990 they changed lead singers. Try the song I you Needed Somebody by Bad Company with their new singer The 80’s Heavy Band Winger just put new album this Spring called Seven; try the song Tears of Blood from this album
Imma say this and be done with it: the original version is perfection. The remake is a complete knockoff and comes across as counterfeit. I said what I said. Hearing people talk about them as equal is like nails on a chalkboard.
Can you guys please react to Michael Jackson another part of me official video. It is one of the best Michael Jackson live performances i have ever seen. You will not regret it. MJ in his prime.
The band is MFSB. w&I've was the TSOP ( THE Sound of Philadelphia) band that played for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Okays, You guys should have played the longer version of fhe Jones Girls Who Can I Run to.
A word from France . The Jones girls , Sharon Redd , Gayle Adams , Tracy Weber , Booker Newberry 3 , Kashif , Phil Fearon and Galaxy , Cool notes , The Strikers , Gwen Mccrae , Dynasty , Carol Douglas ....... I'm really surprised that nobody reacted to the songs of these great artists. They really deserve to be listened to. I grew up with this music from the 70s, 80s and honestly we haven't done better since.
