The original was done right after 9/11. Yes it was a video about it. I'm sure you've seen it on here in other places. This video was a support for the troops show. Where he toured Iraq and I think he went to Afghanistan also with the uso.
There is a video of him singing to the troups out in the field that is so amazing. They needed the support. Check it out. I saw him in person in a dance hall in Amarillo when he had his first hit “should of been a cowboy”. He was so nice. Five feet away from all of us dancers.

There's a difference, to me at least, between hating the country, and hating who and how it's currently being run. I love this country and hate what's being done to it by the corrupt leadership, both Democrats and Republicans. This song reminds me of a time when my eyes weren't as open to the corruption and inevitable road to destruction we're on. Everything was so much simpler at 18yo... This song still gets those feelings of pride and nationalism going again! It's visceral!

Many people talked about the troops after 911… very few acted on what they talked about. Toby Keith sang about it..in the midst of the soldiers, and he went to them. I he is amazing!!

The video that was recorded on his troop tours is one of the absolutely best videos EVER...it shows the troops reaction to this song and it is so inspiring. Toby made several tours and is one of the best guys in country music. Can hardly wait until he's able to take the stage again full time.
I am from a LONG line of military in every branch of this beautiful country. To see how this country has turned to crap hurts and angers me. Even to this day I have younger family members carrying on the love for this country. My little cousin just became a Marine. No matter what I will carry on the traditions of our country

I was in ROTC at the University of Oklahoma and I bumped into Toby Keith 5 or 6 times. He always made it a point to stop when I was in uniform and pay respect. Incredible man. He started to recognize me the last few times. Huge too. I'm 6'1 and he's taller than me.

I’ve been a fan of Toby Keith since he came out with his first song in country music. Toby is real! He doesn’t care if you agree with him or disagreed with him, he has his view and he stands up for it! Every time I watch one of his patriotic songs, like now, I get choked up and tears in my eyes. My grandfather fought in three wars and the Warriors did not kill him but the alcohol did. Back in the day, that’s what they did for their PTSD. I don’t think that we do enough for our veterans. Toby is from about 100miles from where I'm from here in Oklahoma as well as Garth Brooks, and where Blake Shelton is from is about 35to40miles from where I'm from too!

We lost our grandson, son, , brother, brother in arms four years ago this last September. SSG Tyler T, also he was a father of two babies, a boy and girl ( her name is Remington for obvious reasons 🥰🥰🥰 he is missed and loved and he is missed every day here on earth 🌍 but we know where he is, and he is standing by the gates of heaven saluting all those who have fallen before and after him. We are still waiting to see, and hear him, we love you 😍 and I know that you and papa are listening to Jesus, and all the teachers who are with you and Papa and Jimmy and we will see you my love! Now if you want tears to flow, watch him performing this overseas and in front of the troops. Toby is very patriotic and has never apologized for it. His place in Norman OK, has a huge American flag flying in his pasture and makes me tear up every time I see it. Need more like him that never changes and stands for his beliefs.
I have loved this song ever since it came out for 9/11, but it hits different when you think about the people trying to destroy our country from within and that this was at the inaugeration of someone who was trying to same it. Very appropriate song/video! Amen!

You need to watch the original version. The one shown on cmt he is younger and sings the song with the strength. I believe here Toby is ill with cancer plus he forgot a line. (Which you cant blame him being super ill with stomache cancer.) Toby is an American Treasure to all Americans and Veterans. Prayers to Toby.
