Saw Tom many years ago. He took total command of the room. While he sang, I glanced over at the ladies in the audience. They looked at him like someone on a diet staring at a hot fudge sundae. :)

One of a kind voice. Such power and control. To Brad's point: We're lucky he lived in a time when he could be recorded. Imagine how many outstanding musicians lived prior to the 20th century and were thus never recorded. We will never hear them.

Tom is one of the greatest singers ever. He's 82 or 83 still performing sounds great. He may still be a judge on Voice UK he sure deserves that position. Was singing it with the son whose dad wrote the song. Sounded fantastic! It said he retained 90 % of his voice. The best of the best.

This is early 'Jonesy', as we in the UK sometimes refer to the legend that is Sir Tom Jones. What a voice! The thing that blew my mind was Lex's comment, his voice is like a cello. I'm a music obsessive that can bore the ass off anyone, but in all my years I would never have come up with that description. So bang on!!!! Lex has a natural musical insight and perspective that is unbelievable and from just one listen. Brad, u r one lucky man! Love the channel, keep it up guys.👍x

Love that you know about Woodstock.. I hauled my 13 foot 1969 Royal Highlander camper from Fairbanks Alaska to Bethel New York to spend the most memorable 3 days of my life. I still have my 3 day pass from Woodstock and a tie dyed twin bead spread with the moon, stars and sun for my camper. If they gathered all the singers and bands of today they still could never have another Woodstock. A once in a life time experience and I was so blessed to have been a part of it.

Love the way you two elaborate on your critiques...it's too cute! I think I enjoyed watching you guys as much as listening to Tom Jones sing, and I looove listening to him sing. I just wanted to mention that everyone in the 60s didn't dress like Tom is dressed when they performed. The sixties were a mixture of styles because it was the beginning of the most rebellious time in history in this country in the twentieth century. There were hippies, drugs were abundant, rock-n-roll was poppin, the Vietnam War was raging, and people were protesting like crazy over so many things. I was a kid, but I remember all that stuff. On the other end of the spectrum, Motown was crankin out ("Soul Music" now called (R&B) like crazy, there was the "Rat Pack" and other "straight-laced dressers" singing songs like Tom is singing in the video. The 60s was the most interesting decade in my lifetime!

The beauty of the 1960-70s is the abundance of genres. There was so much new music being churned out across the full spectrum of musical styles that you could listen to whatever you were in the mood for, or just stay in your musical lane of choice.
