FIRST TIME HEARING Tommy Johansson!! | “Hallelujah” 

This was the start of Tommys covers .. home sick in covid .. lost his voice 😮 .. remembered he had recorded this and made a video for it .. he followed up with macalpine houndred of thousands( instrumentals) And some more instrumentals/ tutorials.. and got the bug and continued after recovering his voice .. when he hit 1000 subs he realized that it could be more to it than just doing something while being sick ., aren’t we all grateful for that 😉

Tommy's first and most important musical influence is Gary Moore. All his covers are amazing!

You are making me so happy, taking notice of my favourite singer besides Geoff. I put those two on the same tier. A collab between those is on my dream list Tommy is such a versatile artist, he can sing in any genre though he prefers the 19980ies power metal. Multi-talented multi-instrumentalist. I've seen him play guitar, bass, keyboard/piano, drums, recorder, accordion and mouth harp. Wouldn't surprise me if he could handle more. Day-time job lead guitarist in power metal band Sabaton, where he only sings backing vocals. Leads his own metal band Majestica, former ReinXeed since he was 15, ovet 20 years by now. And on top of that weekly releases of all kinds of covers that takes his fancy. Excellent musical arranger as well. Sometimes I wonde if there's nothing Tommy can't do. Tommy is a swedish national treasure. PS considering what you said about opera and metal, let me recommend Ave Maria and his rendition of Phantom of the Opera, which is not opera, but shows his range.

Someone may have already commented on this, but Tommy will have a new video out on Jan. 5 2024. I have not heard what it will be. Thanks for reviewing Tommy absolutely love his voice and musical talent.

Thanks for reacting to one of my absolute favourite singers/producers/mucisians. I could recommend more or less anything on his channel. The first tone in that guitar solo is not just the guitar it is also his voice in the same tone as the guitar giving you some insight in his vocal range. For the softer Tommy I recommend Sound of Silence and The Price. For guitar playing everything covering Gary Moore and you will find out that he loves 80’s music (Heart, Journey, Survivor, Alien, ABBA and more) so you will probably find some of your favorites in his covers. For more speed Tommy Viva Forever and Basket Case. His rendition of Blinding Lights is a favorite that throws me directly back to the 80’s.

This was pretty good but I still prefer the cover by k.d. lang. Especially her performance at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Leonard Cohen actually told the organizers to have her perform his song rather than having him perform it at the Olympic ceremony. She also performed it at the Leonard Cohen memorial celebration "Tower Of Song" in Quebec in November 2017.
